1 Dawid dwom. Ɛberɛ a ɔwɔ Yuda Ɛserɛ so no na ɔtoeɛ. Ao, Onyankopɔn, wone me Onyankopɔn Mehwehwɛ wo anibereɛ so; wo ho sukɔm de me kra, me onipadua ani agyina wo, wɔ asase a awo na ɛserɛ nni so, baabi a nsuo nnie.
God, you are the God whom I [worship]. I greatly desire to be with you like [SIL] a person in a dry hot desert greatly desires [some cool water].
2 Mahunu wo wɔ Kronkronbea hɔ mahunu wo tumi ne wʼanimuonyam.
So, I want to see you in your temple; I want to see that you are great and glorious.
3 Esiane sɛ, wʼadɔeɛ di mu sene nkwa enti mʼano fafa bɛhyɛ wo animuonyam.
Your constantly loving [me] is (worth more/more precious) than [my] life, so I [MTY] will [always] praise you.
4 Sɛ mete ase yi, mɛkamfo wo, na wo din mu na mɛpagya me nsa.
I will praise you all the time that I live; I will lift up my hands to you while I pray.
5 Me ɔkra bɛmee sɛdeɛ wadi aduane papa bi; mede anofafa a ɛto dwom bɛyi wo ayɛ.
[Knowing you satisfies me more than] [IDM, MET] my eating a very big feast, [so] I will praise you while I sing [MTY] joyful songs.
6 Meda me mpa so a, mekae wo. Anadwo dasuo mu nyinaa, medwene wo ho.
While I lie on my bed, I think about you. I think/meditate about you all during the night,
7 Ɛfiri sɛ, wone ne ɔboafoɔ, wo ntaban ase nwunu mu na mɛto dwom.
because you have always helped me, and I sing joyfully knowing that I am protected by you [as a little bird is protected] under [its mother’s] wings [MET].
8 Me kra bata wo ho; na wo nsa nifa kura me mu.
I cling to you; and with your hand/power you protect me.
9 Wɔn a wɔpɛ me akum me no bɛsɛe; wɔbɛkɔ asase ase tɔnn.
But those who are trying to kill me will [die and] descend into the place of the dead;
10 Wɔbɛdane wɔn ama akofena na wɔbɛyɛ aduane ama sakraman.
they will be killed in battles [MTY] and their [corpses] will be eaten by jackals/wild dogs.
11 Nanso ɔhene bɛdi ahurisie wɔ Onyankopɔn mu; wɔn a wɔka ntam wɔ Onyankopɔn din mu nyinaa bɛkamfo no, na wɔbɛmua atorofoɔ ano. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ.
But I, the king [of Israel], will rejoice in what God has done; and all those who revere and trust God will praise him, but he will not allow liars to say anything.
