1 Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ Yedutun. Dawid dwom. Me ɔkra wɔ ahomegyeɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn nko ara mu; me nkwagyeɛ firi ne nkyɛn.
God is the only one who can give me peace in my inner being, and he is the one who saves me [from my enemies].
2 Ɔno nko ara ne me botan ne me nkwagyeɛ; ɔyɛ mʼaban, na merenhinhim da.
Only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he will be [like] a shelter, [with the result that] I will never be defeated [MET].
3 Mobɛkɔ so ahyɛ onipa baako so akɔsi da bɛn? Mo nyinaa mobɛsum no ahwe fam anaa? Mayɛ ɔfasuo a akyea, ɛban a ɛrebuo wɔ wɔn ani so.
When will you, [my enemies], stop attacking me [RHQ]? I feel that I am [as useless against you as] a wall that is about to fall over or a broken-down fence [MET].
4 Wɔayɛ adwene sɛ wɔbɛtu me afiri me diberɛ a ɛkorɔn no so; wɔn ani gye atorɔ die ho. Wɔde wɔn ano hyira na wɔn akoma mu deɛ, wɔdome.
My enemies plan to remove me from my important position so that people no longer honor me. They delight in telling lies. They bless people by what they say [MTY], but in their inner beings they curse [those people].
5 Ao me kra, gye wʼahome wɔ Onyankopɔn nko ara mu; na ne mu na mʼanidasoɔ wɔ.
God is the only one who gives me peace in my inner being; he is the one whom I confidently expect [to help me].
6 Ɔno nko ara ne me botan ne me nkwagyeɛ; ɔyɛ mʼaban, na merenhinhim.
Only he is [like an overhanging] rock [under which I can be safe] [MET]; he is [like] a shelter, and [as a result] I will never be defeated.
7 Me nkwagyeɛ ne mʼanimuonyam gyina Onyankopɔn so; ɔyɛ me botan a ɛkorɔn, ne me dwanekɔbea.
God is the one who saves me and honors me. He is [like an overhanging] strong rock under which I [can] find shelter [MET].
8 Ao me nkurɔfoɔ, momfa mo ho nto ne so daa; monka mo akoma mu nsɛm nyinaa nkyerɛ no, ɛfiri sɛ Onyankopɔn ne yɛn dwanekɔbea.
[You my] people, always trust in him. Tell him all your troubles, because he is (our refuge/the one who protects us) [MET].
9 Nnipa nyinaa te sɛ home; akɛseɛ ne nkumaa nyinaa nka hwee; sɛ wɔkari wɔn wɔ nsania so a, wɔnka hwee; wɔn nyinaa bɔ mu a, wɔyɛ home mu tutuo.
People who are considered to be unimportant are [as worthless/unreliable as] a breath of air; people who are considered to be important [also] really (amount to nothing/cannot be trusted [to help us)]. If you put them all on a scale, [it would be as if] they weighed less than a puff of air.
10 Mommfa mo ho nto nsisie so na monnhoahoa mo ho korɔnodeɛ ho; ɛwom sɛ mo ahonya dɔɔso deɛ, nanso mommfa mo akoma nto so.
Do not trust in money gained by extorting it from others; do not try to gain anything by robbing others. If you become very wealthy, do not trust in [IDM] your money.
11 Asɛm baako na Onyankopɔn aka, nsɛm mmienu na mateɛ sɛ, wo, Onyankopɔn, wo na wowɔ ahoɔden,
I have heard God say more than once that he is the one who [really] has power,
12 na wo, Awurade, wo na woyɛ adɔeɛ. Ampa ara, wobɛtua obiara ka sɛdeɛ nʼadwuma teɛ.
and that he is the one who faithfully loves [us]. He rewards every one [of us] according to the deeds that we do.
