< Nnwom 56 >
1 Dawid dwom a ɔtoeɛ ɛberɛ a Filistifoɔ kyeree no wɔ Gat no. Ao Onyankopɔn, hunu me mmɔbɔ na nnipa taa me anibereɛ so; da mu nyinaa, wɔmia mmirika a wɔtu wɔtaa me no mu.
“To the chief musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, by David, a Michtham, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.” Be gracious unto me, O God; for man longeth to swallow me up; all the time he oppresseth me fighting.
2 Wɔn a wɔbɔ me ahohora taa me da mu nyinaa; wɔn a wɔma wɔn ho so tia me dɔɔso.
Those that regard me with envy long to swallow [me] up all the time; for many are they that fight against me, O thou Most High.
3 Sɛ mebɔ hu a, mede me ho bɛto wo so.
The day [when] I am afraid, I will still trust in thee.
4 Onyankopɔn a mekamfo nʼasɛm no, mede me ho to Onyankopɔn so, na merensuro. Ɛdeɛn na onipa dasani bɛtumi ayɛ me?
In God will I praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can flesh do unto me?
5 Ɛda mu nyinaa wɔgye mʼano si bɔne; ɛberɛ biara wɔbɔ pɔ sɛ wɔbɛteetee me.
All the day they wrest my words: against me are all their thoughts for evil.
6 Wɔbɔ pɔ, na wɔtetɛ, wɔhwɛ mʼanammɔntuo, na wɔpere sɛ wɔbɛkum me.
They come together in troops, they hide themselves, they are those that watch my heels, as though they hoped [to take] my soul.
7 Ɛkwan biara so, mma wɔmfa wɔn ho nni; Ao Onyankopɔn, brɛ amanaman no ase wɔ wʼabufuo mu.
Because of their wrong-doing let me escape from them: in anger cast down the people, O God.
8 Twerɛ me kwadwom to hɔ; sese me nisuo wɔ wo nwoma mmobɔeɛ no mu. Ɛnni deɛ woatwerɛ ato hɔ no mu anaa?
My wanderings hast thou well numbered: put thou my tears into thy bottle; behold, they are numbered by thee.
9 Sɛ mepɛ mmoa firi wo hɔ a, mʼatamfoɔ bɛsane wɔn akyi. Yei bɛma mahunu sɛ Onyankopɔn wɔ mʼafa.
Then shall my enemies retire backward on the day when I call [on thee]: this I know—that God is for me.
10 Onyankopɔn a mekamfo nʼasɛm no, Awurade a mekamfo nʼasɛm no,
In God will I praise the word: in the Lord will I praise the word.
11 mede me ho to Onyankopɔn so; na merensuro. Ɛdeɛn na ɔdasani bɛtumi ayɛ me?
In God have I put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can man do unto me?
12 Ao Onyankopɔn, mehyɛ ɛbɔ a mahyɛ wo no ase, mede mʼaseda afɔdeɛ bɛbrɛ wo.
Upon me, O God, [rest] thy vows: I will pay thanksgiving offerings unto thee.
13 Ɛfiri sɛ, woagye me afiri owuo mu, woamma me nan ansunti, sɛdeɛ mɛtumi anante Onyankopɔn anim wɔ nkwa hann mu. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ no. Wɔto no sɛdeɛ wɔto “Mma Wɔnsɛe No.”
For thou hast delivered my soul from death—yea, behold, my feet from slipping, that I may walk before God in the light of the life.
