< Nnwom 40 >
1 Dawid dwom. Mede boasetɔ twɛnee Awurade; na ɔhwɛɛ me, na ɔtee me sufrɛ.
I waited patiently for Adonai. He turned to me, and sh'ma ·heard obeyed· my cry.
2 Ɔyii me firii amena a emu yɛ toro mu, firii dɔteɛ ne atɛkyɛ mu; ɔde me nan sii ɔbotan so na ɔmaa me baabi pa gyinaeɛ.
He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 Ɔde dwom foforɔ hyɛɛ mʼanom, ayɛyi dwom a yɛde ma yɛn Onyankopɔn. Bebree bɛhunu na wɔasuro na wɔde wɔn werɛ ahyɛ Awurade mu.
He has put a new song in my mouth, even tehilah ·praise song· to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in Adonai.
4 Nhyira ne onipa a ɔde Awurade yɛ nʼahotɔsoɔ, deɛ ɔmfa nʼani nto ahomasoɔ so, ne wɔn a wɔmane di anyame huhuo akyi.
Blessed is the man who makes Adonai his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Ao Awurade me Onyankopɔn woayɛ anwanwadeɛ bebree. Nneɛma a wohyehyɛ maa yɛn no obiara ntumi nka ne nyinaa nkyerɛ wo; sɛ meka sɛ mereka ne nyinaa ho asɛm a ɛbɛdɔɔso dodo.
Many, Adonai, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.
6 Wompɛ afɔrebɔ ne ayɛyɛdeɛ, woabue mʼaso ama mahunu; woampɛ ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ ne bɔne afɔdeɛ.
Sacrifices and offerings you don’t want; burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin ·missing the goal· you have not required. Instead, you have opened my ears.
7 Na mekaa sɛ “Mewɔ ha, merebɛyɛ deɛ wopɛ sɛ meyɛ, sɛdeɛ wɔatwerɛ afa me ho wɔ Mmara nwoma no mu no.
So then I said, “Behold, I have come! In the scroll of a book it is written about me.
8 Ao me Onyankopɔn, mepɛ sɛ meyɛ wʼapɛdeɛ; mede wo mmara ahyɛ mʼakoma mu.”
I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your Torah ·Teaching· is within my heart.”
9 Meka wo tenenee ho asɛm wɔ dwabɔ kɛseɛ ase; meremmua mʼano, Ao Awurade, sɛdeɛ wonim no.
I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, Adonai, you know.
10 Meremfa wo tenenee ho asɛm nsie mʼakoma mu; meka wo nokorɛ ne wo nkwagyeɛ ho asɛm. Mankata wʼadɔeɛ ne wo nokorɛ so wɔ dwabɔ kɛseɛ no ase.
I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your chesed ·loving-kindness· and your truth from the great assembly.
11 Ao Awurade, nyi wʼahummɔborɔ mfiri me so; ma wʼadɔeɛ ne wo nokorɛ mmɔ me ho ban daa.
Don’t withhold your tender rachamim ·merciful loves· from me, Adonai. Let your chesed ·loving-kindness· and your truth continually preserve me.
12 Ɔhaw bebree atwa me ho ahyia; mʼamumuyɛ abu afa me so enti menhunu adeɛ bio. Ɛdɔɔso sene me tiri so nwi, na mʼakoma aboto wɔ me mu.
For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My depravities (moral evils) have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.
13 Ao Awurade, ma ɛnsɔ wʼani sɛ wobɛboa me; Ao Awurade, bra ntɛm bɛboa me.
Be pleased, Adonai, to deliver me. Hurry to help me, Adonai.
14 Wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔkum me no nyinaa, ma wɔn anim ngu ase na wɔnyɛ basaa; ma wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ mesɛeɛ no, wɔmfa aniwuo nsane wɔn akyi.
Let them be disappointed and confounded together who seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
15 Wɔn a wɔka “Ɔtwea! Ɔtwea!” kyerɛ me no, ma wɔn ho nnwiri wɔn wɔ wɔn ankasa animguaseɛ ho.
Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me, “Aha! Aha!”
16 Nanso ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ wo nyinaa ani nnye na wɔnni ahurisie wɔ wo mu; ma wɔn a wɔdɔ wo nkwagyeɛ no nka daa sɛ, “Momma Awurade so!”
Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let all who 'ahav ·affectionately love· your salvation say continually, “Let Adonai be exalted and magnified!”
17 Nanso meyɛ ohiani ne mmɔborɔni; ma Awurade nnwene me ho. Wone me ɔboafoɔ ne me gyefoɔ; Ao me Onyankopɔn, bra ntɛm. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ.
But I am poor and needy. May 'Adonay [Lord] think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Don’t delay, my God.
