< Nnwom 4 >

1 Dawid dwom. Sɛ mesu frɛ wo a, gye me so, Ao, me tenenee Onyankopɔn. Ma me ahomegyeɛ wɔ mʼahohia mu; hunu me mmɔbɔ na tie me mpaeɛbɔ.
Unto the end, in verses. A psalm for David. When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.
2 Ao mmarima, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn na mo bɛdane mʼanimuonyam ahohora? Ɛnkɔsi da bɛn na mobɛdɔ nneɛma hunu na moadi ahoni huhuo akyi?
O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?
3 Hunu sɛ Awurade ayi deɛ ɔwɔ nyamesu ama ne ho; Awurade bɛtie, sɛ mesu mefrɛ no a.
Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.
4 Mo bo fu a, monnyɛ bɔne; sɛ modeda mo mpa so a, monyɛ komm na monhwehwɛ mo akoma mu.
Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.
5 Mommɔ afɔdeɛ a ɛfata na momfa mo werɛ nhyɛ Awurade mu.
Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?
6 Nnipa bebree bisa sɛ: “Hwan na ɔbɛtumi ayɛ yɛn adɔeɛ?” Ao Awurade, ma wʼanim hann no nhyerɛn yɛn so.
The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.
7 Wode anigyeɛ mmorosoɔ ahyɛ mʼakoma ma asene ɛberɛ a wɔn aburoo ne nsã foforɔ abu so no.
By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.
8 Mɛtɔ hɔ, na mada asomdwoeɛ mu, ɛfiri sɛ, wo nko ara, Ao Awurade, na woma metena asomdwoeɛ mu. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ sɛ wɔmfa atɛntɛbɛn nto.
In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest: For thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
