< Nnwom 37 >
1 Dawid dwom. Nha wo ho nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nti; mma wʼani mmere wɔn a wɔyɛ bɔne;
Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2 Wɔte sɛ ɛserɛ, ɛnkyɛre na ahye, wɔte sɛ dua mono, ɛnkyɛre na awu.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Fa wo ho to Awurade so na yɛ papa. Tena asase no so na ma wʼani nka asomdwoeɛ adidibea hɔ.
Trust in Adonai, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Ma wʼani nka Awurade ho na woama wo deɛ wʼakoma pɛ.
Also delight yourself in Adonai, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Fa wʼakwan hyɛ Awurade nsam; na fa wo ho to ne so, na ɔno na ɔbɛyɛ:
Commit your way to Adonai. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6 ɔbɛma wo teneneeyɛ ahyerɛn sɛ adekyeeɛ, na wʼatɛntenenee ayɛ sɛ owigyinaeɛ.
he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your mishpat ·justice· as the noonday sun.
7 Yɛ komm wɔ Awurade anim na to wo bo ase twɛn no, nha wo ho wɔ wɔn a asi wɔn yie ho ɛfiri sɛ wɔnam bɔne akwan so.
Rest in Adonai, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8 Mma wo bo mfu, na gyae abufuhyeɛ; nha wo ho, ɛkɔwie bɔne nko ara.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 Wɔbɛtwa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ agu, nanso wɔn a wɔn ani da Awurade soɔ no, wɔbɛnya asase no adi so.
For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Adonai shall inherit the land.
10 Ɛrenkyɛre, nnebɔneyɛfoɔ bɛyera. Wɔbɛhwehwɛ wɔn, nanso wɔrenhunu wɔn.
For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he is not there.
11 Nanso ahobrɛasefoɔ bɛnya asase no adi so na wɔanya asomdwoeɛ mmorosoɔ.
But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 Amumuyɛfoɔ bɔ pɔ bɔne tia ateneneefoɔ na wɔtwɛre wɔn se gu wɔn so;
The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 nanso, Awurade sere amumuyɛfoɔ, na ɔnim sɛ wɔn nna abɛn.
The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Amumuyɛfoɔ twe akofena na wɔkuntunu wɔn tadua mu sɛ wɔbɛkum ahiafoɔ ne mmɔborɔfoɔ, sɛ wɔbɛkum wɔn a wɔn akwan tene.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.
15 Nanso, wɔn akofena bɛwowɔ wɔn ankasa akoma mu, na wɔn tadua mu abubu.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.
16 Kakra a ateneneefoɔ wɔ no som bo sene amumuyɛfoɔ bebree ahonya;
Better is a little that the upright has, than the abundance of many wicked.
17 ɛfiri sɛ, amumuyɛfoɔ ahoɔden bɛsa nanso Awurade bɛwowa ateneneefoɔ.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Adonai upholds the upright.
18 Awurade nim wɔn a wɔn ho nni asɛm no nna, na wɔn agyapadeɛ bɛtena hɔ daa.
Adonai knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.
19 Ahohiahia berɛ mu wɔremmrɛ. Ɛkɔm berɛ mu wɔbɛnya ma abu so.
They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 Nanso, amumuyɛfoɔ bɛyera. Awurade atamfoɔ bɛyɛ te sɛ wiram nhwiren; wɔbɛtu ayera sɛ wisie.
But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Adonai shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke.
21 Amumuyɛfoɔ pɛ bosea, na wɔntua, nanso ɔteneneeni de ahummɔborɔ ma;
The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the upright give generously.
22 Wɔn a Awurade ahyira wɔn no bɛnya asase no adi so, na wɔn a ɔdome wɔn no wɔbɛtwa wɔn agu.
For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 Sɛ Awurade ani sɔ onipa akwan a, ɔma nʼanammɔntuo si pi.
A man’s goings are established by Adonai. He delights in his way.
24 Sɛ ɔsunti a ɔrenhwe ase, ɛfiri sɛ Awurade kura no wɔ ne nsam.
Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Adonai holds him up with his hand.
25 Na meyɛ aberanteɛ, na seesei mabɔ akɔkoraa, na menhunuu ɔteneneeni a Awurade apa nʼakyi anaasɛ ne mma resrɛ aduane.
I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the upright forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
26 Ɛberɛ biara ɔyɛ adɔeɛ, na ɔde fɛm kwa; na ne mma bɛnya nhyira.
All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.
27 Twe wo ho firi bɔne ho na yɛ papa na wobɛtena asase no so afebɔɔ.
Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.
28 Ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade pɛ deɛ ɛtene, na ɔrennya ne nkurɔfoɔ nokwafoɔ no. Wɔbɛnya banbɔ daa nyinaa Nanso, amumuyɛfoɔ asefoɔ deɛ, wɔbɛtwa wɔn agu.
For Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·, and does not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 Ateneneefoɔ bɛnya asase no adi so na wɔatena so afebɔɔ.
The upright shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.
30 Ɔteneneeni ano ka nyansasɛm, na ne tɛkrɛma ka deɛ ɛtene.
The mouth of the upright talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks mishpat ·justice·.
31 Ne Onyankopɔn mmara wɔ nʼakoma mu; ne nan nnwatiri.
The Torah ·Teaching· of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
32 Amumuyɛfoɔ tetɛ ateneneefoɔ hwehwɛ sɛ wɔbɛkum wɔn,
The wicked watches the upright, and seeks to kill him.
33 nanso, Awurade nnyaa wɔn mma wɔn na ɔremma wɔmmu wɔn kumfɔ wɔ asɛnniiɛ.
Adonai will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Montwɛn Awurade na monhwɛ nʼakwan. Ɔbɛma mo so na moanya asase no adi so; sɛ wɔtwitwa amumuyɛfoɔ no gu a, mobɛhunu.
Wait for Adonai, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 Mahunu omumuyɛfoɔ a ɔyɛ basabasa sɛ ɔredi yie sɛ dua mono a ɛsi asase pa soɔ,
I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
36 nanso ankyɛre na ɛwuiɛ a wɔnhunu no bio; mehwehwɛɛ no, nanso manhunu no.
But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Susu deɛ ɔyɛ pɛ ho, na hwɛ deɛ ɔtene; na asomdwoeɛ onipa bɛnya asetena pa daakye.
Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
38 Nanso wɔbɛsɛe nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nyinaa; na wɔbɛtɔre wɔn asefoɔ ase.
As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 Ateneneefoɔ nkwagyeɛ firi Awurade ɔne wɔn aban wɔ amanehunu berɛ mu.
But the salvation of the upright is from Adonai. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40 Awurade boa wɔn na ɔgye wɔn; ɔyi wɔn firi amumuyɛfoɔ nsam na ɔgye wɔn nkwa, ɛfiri sɛ wɔhinta wɔ ne mu.
Adonai helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.
