1 Momfa ahurisie nto dwom mma Awurade, mo teneneefoɔ, ɛfata sɛ wɔn a wɔtene no yi no ayɛ.
Shout for joy in the Lord, you righteous: praise for the upright is seemly.
2 Momfa sankuo nkamfo Awurade; monto dwom mma no wɔ sankuten so.
Give thanks to the Lord on the lyre, play to him on a ten-stringed harp.
3 Monto dwom foforɔ mma no. Momfa nimdeɛ mmɔ sankuo no na monteam ahurisie so!
Sing to him a new song, play skilfully and shout merrily.
4 Awurade asɛm tene, na ɛyɛ nokorɛ ɔdi nokorɛ wɔ deɛ ɔyɛ nyinaa mu.
For the Lord is straight in his promise; and all that he does is in faithfulness.
5 Awurade dɔ teneneeyɛ ne atɛntenenee. Nʼadɔeɛ a ɛnsa da no ahyɛ asase so ma.
Justice and right he loves; the earth is full of his kindness.
6 Awurade asɛm so na wɔnam yɛɛ ɔsorosoro, nʼanom homeɛ so na wɔnam yɛɛ ɔsoro asafo.
By his word the heavens were made, all their host by the breath of his mouth.
7 Ɔka ɛpo nsuo boa ano kuo; na ɔde ebunu siee deɛ ɛhɔ dɔ.
He gathers the sea in a bottle, the ocean he puts into store-houses.
8 Momma asase sofoɔ nyinaa nsuro Awurade; na ewiasefoɔ nyinaa mfa anidie mma no.
Let the whole world honor the Lord, let all who live on earth be in awe.
9 Ɔno na ɔkasaeɛ na ɛbaa mu na ɔhyɛeɛ na ɛgyinaa pintinn.
For at his word it came into being, at his command it stood forth.
10 Awurade sɛe amanaman no nhyehyɛeɛ; ɔma adasamma nsusuiɛ yɛ kwa.
The Lord frustrates the designs of the nations, what the peoples have purposed, he brings to nought,
11 Nanso, Awurade nhyehyɛeɛ tim hɔ daa, nʼakoma mu botaeɛ wɔ hɔ ma awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ.
but the Lord’s own design will stand forever, and what his heart has purposed, through all generations.
12 Nhyira ne ɔman a ne Onyankopɔn ne Awurade, nnipa a ɔyii wɔn sɛ nʼagyapadeɛ no.
Happy the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for himself as his own.
13 Awurade hwɛ adasamma nyinaa firi soro.
The Lord looks down from heaven, he sees all of humanity;
14 Ɔfiri nʼatenaeɛ hwɛ wɔn a wɔte asase so nyinaa.
from where he rules he gazes on all who inhabit the earth.
15 Ɔno ne deɛ ɔbɔɔ wɔn nyinaa akoma, enti ɔnim deɛ wɔyɛ nyinaa.
He fashions the hearts of them all, and gives heed to all that they do.
16 Ɛnyɛ ɔhene akodɔm kɛseɛ na ɛbɛgye no; ɛnyɛ ɔkofoɔ ahoɔden na ɛbɛma no afiri mu afi.
It is not by great armies that kings are victorious, it is not by great strength that a warrior saves himself;
17 Ɔpɔnkɔ mu ahotosoɔ yɛ kwa wɔ nkwagyeɛ mu; nʼahoɔden nyinaa akyi no, ɔrentumi nnye nkwa.
false hope is the war-horse to usher in victory, for all its great might it can provide no escape.
18 Nanso Awurade ani wɔ wɔn a wɔsuro no no so, wɔn a wɔwɔ anidasoɔ wɔ ne dɔ a ɛnsa da no mu,
See! The eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his kindness;
19 sɛ ɔbɛgye wɔn afiri owuo mu na wama wɔatena nkwa mu wɔ ɛkɔm berɛ mu.
to deliver their life from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Yɛde anidasoɔ twɛn Awurade; ɔyɛ yɛn ɔboafoɔ ne yɛn akokyɛm.
We wait for the Lord: he is our help and our shield.
21 Ne mu na yɛn akoma di ahurisie, ɛfiri sɛ yɛde yɛn ho to ne din kronkron no so.
For in him our heart is glad, we trust in his holy name.
22 Ma wʼadɔeɛ a ɛnsa da no ntena yɛn so, Ao Awurade, sɛdeɛ anidasoɔ a yɛwɔ wɔ mu no teɛ.
Let your kindness, O Lord, be upon us, as is our hope in you.
