< Nnwom 27 >

1 Dawid dwom. Awurade ne me hann ne me nkwagyeɛ; hwan na mensuro no? Awurade ne me nkwa ahoɔden, na hwan anim na me ho mpopoɔ?
David’s. Yahweh, is my light and my salvation, Of whom shall I be afraid? Yahweh, is the refuge of my life, Of whom shall I be in dread?
2 Sɛ nnipa bɔne toa me pɛ sɛ wɔkum me a, sɛ mʼatamfoɔ to hyɛ me so a wɔbɛsuntisunti ahwehwe ase.
When there drew near against me evil-doers to devour my flesh, mine adversaries, and mine enemies—mine!—they, stumbled and fell!
3 Sɛ dɔm mpo twa me ho hyia a, mʼakoma rentu; mpo sɛ wɔtu me so sa a, ɛno mu koraa na menya awerɛhyɛmu.
Though there pitch against me—a camp, my heart shall not fear, —Though there come up against me—a battle, still, am I confident.
4 Adeɛ baako na mebisa Awurade; na ɛno na mehwehwɛ; sɛ mɛtena Awurade fie me nkwa nna nyinaa, na mahwɛ Awurade ahoɔfɛ na mahwehwɛ no wɔ nʼasɔrefie.
One thing, have I asked of Yahweh, That, will I seek to secure, —That I may dwell in the house of Yahweh, all the days of my life, To view the delightfulness of Yahweh, And to contemplate in his temple.
5 Wɔ hia ɛda mu no ɔde me sie nʼatenaeɛ; ɔkora me wɔ Ahyiaeɛ Ntomadan mu. Ɔde me si ɔbotan so wɔ ɔsorosoro.
For he will hide me in his pavilion, in the day of calamity, —He will conceal me, in the secrecy of his tent, Within a rock, will he set me on high.
6 Afei ɔbɛma me tiri so wɔ atamfoɔ a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no so; mede anigyeɛ bɛbɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ nʼAhyiaeɛ Ntomadan mu; na mɛto dwom, ahyehyɛ nnwom ama Awurade.
Now, therefore, shall my head be raised high above my foes round about me, and I will sacrifice in his tent the sacrifices of triumphant joy, I will sing and touch the strings, to Yahweh.
7 Ao, Awurade, sɛ mesu frɛ wo a, tie me! Hu me mmɔbɔ na gye me so!
Hear, O Yahweh, With my voice, do I cry, Oh then show me favour and answer me.
8 Mʼakoma ka wɔ wo ho sɛ, “Hwehwɛ nʼanim!” Wʼanim, Ao Awurade na mɛhwehwɛ.
To thee, said my heart—[When thou saidst] Seek ye my face—Thy face, O Yahweh, will I seek!
9 Mfa wʼanim nhinta me, mfa abufuo mpamo wo ɔsomfoɔ me ɔboafoɔ ne wo. Mpo me na nnya me, Ao me Nkwagyeɛ Onyankopɔn.
Do not hide thy face from me, Do not repulse, in thine anger, thine own servant, —My help, thou hast been, Do not send me away nor forsake me, O my saving God!
10 Mʼagya ne me maame bɛgya me hɔ deɛ, nanso Awurade bɛgye me.
When, my own father and mother, had forsaken me, Then, Yahweh, took me up!
11 Kyerɛ me wʼakwan, Ao Awurade; fa me fa ɛkwan tee so, me nhyɛsofoɔ enti.
Point out to me, O Yahweh, thy way, —And guide me in a level path, because of mine adversaries.
12 Nnyaa me mma sɛdeɛ mʼatamfoɔ pɛ, adansekurumfoɔ sɔre tia me na wɔpu awurukasɛm.
Do not give me up unto the desire of mine adversaries, for there have risen up against me witnesses that are false, and he that fanneth up violence.
13 Meda so wɔ saa anidasoɔ yi sɛ: mɛhunu Awurade ayamyɛ wɔ ateasefoɔ asase so.
I believe that I shall see—The goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living,
14 Twɛn Awurade. Hyɛ wo ho den na ma wo bo nyɛ duru na twɛn Awurade.
Wait thou for Yahweh, —Be strong, and let thy heart be bold, Wait, then, for Yahweh!
