1 Dawid dwom. Ao Awurade, mema me kra so kyerɛ wo;
David’s. [An Alphabetical Psalm.] Unto thee, O Yahweh, my soul, would I lift:
2 wo so, Ao me Onyankopɔn, na mede me ho to. Mma mʼanim ngu ase na mma mʼatamfoɔ nso nni me so nkonim.
O my God, in thee, have I put my trust, Let me not be put to shame, Let not my foe exult over me:
3 Wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wo so no mu biara ani renwu da, mmom, wɔn a wɔyɛ kɔntɔnkye no anim bɛgu ase.
Yea let, none who wait for thee, be put to shame, Let them be put to shame who act covertly without cause!
4 Kyerɛ me wʼakwan, Ao Awurade, na me nhunu wʼatempɔn.
Thy ways, O Yahweh, let me know, Thy paths, teach thou me:
5 Fa wo nokorɛ no so kyerɛkyerɛ me, ɛfiri sɛ woyɛ Onyankopɔn, me Gyefoɔ, na mʼani da wo so daa nyinaa.
Guide me into thy truth and teach me, for, thou, art my delivering God, For thee, have I waited all the day:
6 Kae, Ao Awurade, wo mmɔborɔhunu ne wo dɔ kɛseɛ a ɛwɔ hɔ firi tete no.
Remember thy compassions, O Yahweh, and thy lovingkindnesses, For, from age-past times, have they been.
7 Nkae me mmabunu berɛ mu bɔne ne mʼatuateɛ akwan; kae me sɛdeɛ wʼadɔeɛ teɛ, Ao Awurade, ɛfiri sɛ wo yɛ.
The sins of my youth, and my transgressions, do not thou call to mind, —According to thine own lovingkindness, remember thou me, for the sake of thine own goodness, O Yahweh.
8 Awurade yɛ, na ɔtene; enti ɔkyerɛkyerɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nʼakwan.
Good and upright, is Yahweh, For this cause, will he direct sinners into the way.
9 Ɔde ahobrɛasefoɔ fa ɛkwan pa so na ɔkyerɛ wɔn nʼapɛdeɛ.
May he guide patient wronged-ones to be righted, and teach such oppressed-ones his way.
10 Awurade akwan nyinaa yɛ ɔdɔ ne nokorɛdie ma wɔn a wɔdi nʼapam mu ahyɛdeɛ soɔ.
All the paths of Yahweh, are lovingkindness and faithfulness, to such as keep his covenant, and his testimonies.
11 Ao Awurade, me bɔne so deɛ, nanso wo din enti, fa kyɛ me.
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, Therefore wilt thou pardon mine iniquity, for great it is.
12 Enti hwan ne onipa a ɔsuro Awurade? Ɔbɛkyerɛ no kwan a wabɔ ama no.
Who then is the man that revereth Yahweh? Let him direct him into the way he should choose.
13 Ɔbɛdi yie wɔ ne nkwa nna mu, na nʼasefoɔ afa asase no sɛ wɔn agyapadeɛ.
His soul, with prosperity, shall tarry, and, his seed, shall possess the land.
14 Awurade da nʼatirimsɛm adi kyerɛ wɔn a wɔsuro no; na ɔma wɔhunu nʼapam.
Intimacy with Yahweh, have they who revere him, His covenant also, he letteth them know.
15 Mʼani da Awurade so daa, ɛfiri sɛ ɔno nko ara na ɔbɛyi me nan afiri afidie mu.
Mine eyes, are continually unto Yahweh, —for, he, bringeth, out of the net, my feet.
16 Dane wʼani hwɛ me, na dom me, ɛfiri sɛ meyɛ ankonam na meyɛ mmɔbɔ.
Turn thou unto me, and show me favour, for, alone and oppressed, I am.
17 Mʼakoma mu dadwene adɔɔso; yi me dadwene firi me so.
The distresses of my heart, hath he relieved, —and, out of my straits, brought me forth.
18 Hwɛ me haw ne mʼahohiahia na yi me bɔne nyinaa firi me so.
Behold my humiliation and my pain, and take away all my sins.
19 Hwɛ sɛdeɛ mʼatamfoɔ adɔɔso ne ɔtan kɛseɛ a wɔde tan me!
Behold my foes, for they abound, —and, with the hatred of violence, do they hate me.
20 Bɔ me nkwa ho ban na gye me. Mma mʼanim ngu ase, ɛfiri sɛ me dwanekɔbea ne wo.
Oh keep my soul, and rescue me, Let me not be put to shame, for I have sought refuge in thee.
21 Ma tenenee ne nokorɛ mmɔ me ho ban, ɛfiri sɛ mʼani da wo so.
Let, blamelessness and uprightness, watch over me, because I have waited for thee.
22 Gye Israel, Ao Onyankopɔn, firi wɔn haw nyinaa mu.
Redeem Israel, O God, —out of all his distresses.
