< Nnwom 2 >
1 Adɛn enti na amanamanmufoɔ no bo afu? Adɛn enti na wɔsɛe mmerɛ yɛ nhyehyɛeɛ hunu yi?
Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
2 Asase so ahemfo sɔre gyina na atumfoɔ bom tu agyina tia Awurade ne Deɛ Wɔasra no no.
The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:
3 Wɔka sɛ, “Momma yɛmmubu wɔn nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn na yɛnto wɔn mpokyerɛ ngu.”
Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!
4 Deɛ ɔte adwa so wɔ soro no sere; Awurade di wɔn ho fɛw.
He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:
5 Afei ɔka wɔn anim wɔ nʼabufuo mu hunahuna wɔn wɔ nʼabufuhyeɛ mu, ka sɛ,
Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
6 “Masi me Ɔhene wɔ Sion, me bepɔ kronkron no so.”
Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.
7 Mɛpae mu aka Awurade ahyɛdeɛ: Ɔka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, “Woyɛ me Babarima; ɛnnɛ mayɛ wʼAgya.
Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
8 Bisa me, na mede amanaman nyinaa bɛyɛ wʼagyapadeɛ, asase ano nyinaa bɛyɛ wo dea.
Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
9 Wode dadeɛ ahempoma bɛdi wɔn so; na woabobɔ wɔn sɛ ɔnwomfoɔ ahina.”
Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
10 Enti mo ahemfo, monsua nyansa; monkae kɔkɔbɔ yi, mo asase sodifoɔ.
Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
11 Momfa suro nsom Awurade na monsɛpɛ mo ho ahopopoɔ mu.
Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
12 Momfe Ɔba no ano, na ne bo amfu ansɛe mo wɔ mo akwan so, ɛfiri sɛ nʼabufuhyeɛ tumi sɔre ntɛm so. Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔdwane toa no nyinaa.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
