< Nnwom 144 >
1 Dawid deɛ. Nkamfoɔ nka Awurade, me Botan, deɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛ me nsa akodie, na ɔkyerɛkyerɛ me nsateaa akodie.
Blessed be the LORD my strength which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
2 Ɔyɛ mʼadɔeɛ Onyankopɔn ne mʼaban, mʼabandenden ne me ɔgyefoɔ, me kyɛm a mewɔ dwanekɔbea wɔ ne mu; ɔno na ɔka nnipa hyɛ mʼase.
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me.
3 Ao Awurade, hwan ne onipa, a wʼani ku ne ho? Hwan ne onipa ba, a wodwene ne ho yi?
LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him! or the son of man, that you make account of him!
4 Onipa te sɛ ahomeɛ; ne nna te sɛ sunsum a ɛretwam.
Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passes away.
5 Ao Awurade, firi ɔsoro hɔ na siane bra fam; fa wo nsa ka mmepɔ, na ɛmfiri wisie.
Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
6 Soma anyinam na bɔ atamfoɔ no hwete; to wo mmemma no ma wɔn nnwane.
Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out your arrows, and destroy them.
7 Tene wo nsa firi soro bra fam; gye me na yi me firi nsuo akɛseɛ ho, firi ananafoɔ nsam,
Send your hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
8 wɔn a atorɔ ayɛ wɔn anomu ma, na wɔn nsa nifa yɛ nnaadaa.
Whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9 Ao Onyankopɔn, mɛto dwom foforɔ ama wo; mɛto dwom wɔ sankuo a nhoma edu gu soɔ so ama wo,
I will sing a new song unto you, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto you.
10 ama Ɔbaako a ɔde nkonimdie ma ahemfo, na ɔgye ne ɔsomfoɔ Dawid firi akofena kɔdiawuo ano.
It is he that gives salvation unto kings: who delivers David his servant from the hurtful sword.
11 Gye me na yi me firi ananafoɔ nsam, wɔn a atorɔ ayɛ wɔn anomu ma na wɔn nsa nifa yɛ nnaadaa.
Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaks vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
12 Afei yɛn mmammarima mmeranteberɛ bɛyɛ sɛ afifideɛ a wɔahwɛ so yie, na yɛn mmammaa bɛyɛ sɛ adum a wɔasene de asiesie ahemfie.
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the embodiment of a palace:
13 Yɛn asan bɛyɛ ma. Aduane ahodoɔ biara bɛba mu bi. Yɛn nnwan bɛdɔɔso ayɛ mpem mpem, ayɛ mpemdu du wɔ yɛn mfuo so;
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
14 yɛn anantwie bɛtwe nnuane a ɛdɔɔso na emu yɛ duru. Obiara rentumi nnwiri yɛn afasuo ngu; yɛrenkɔ nkoasom mu, na agyaadwotwa remma yɛn mmɔntene so.
That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
15 Nhyira nka nnipa a ɛbɛba mu saa ama wɔn. Nhyira nka nnipa a wɔn Onyankopɔn ne Awurade.
Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
