< Nnwom 13 >
1 Dawid dwom. Ao, Awurade, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn? Wo werɛ bɛfiri me afebɔɔ anaa? Ɛnkɔsi da bɛn na wode wʼanim bɛhinta me?
For the chief musician. A psalm of David. How long, Yahweh, will you keep forgetting about me? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 Ɛnkɔsi da bɛn na mene mʼadwendwene bɛdi apereapereɛ na awerɛhoɔ ahyɛ mʼakoma mu daa? Mʼatamfoɔ nni me so nkonim nkɔsi da bɛn?
How long must I worry and have grief in my heart all day? How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Te wʼani hwɛ me na bua me, Ao, Awurade, me Onyankopɔn. Ma mʼani so nyɛ hann, na manna owuo nna.
Look at me and answer me, Yahweh my God! Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death.
4 Me ɔtamfoɔ bɛka sɛ, “Madi ne so nkonim.” Na mʼahohiahiafoɔ bɛdi ahurisie ɛberɛ a mahwe ase.
Do not let my enemy say, “I have defeated him,” so that my enemy may not say, “I have prevailed over my adversary”; otherwise, my enemies will rejoice when I am brought down.
5 Nanso mede me ho to wo dɔ a ɛnsa da no so; mʼakoma di ahurisie wɔ wo nkwagyeɛ mu.
But I have trusted in your covenant faithfulness; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 Mɛto dwom ama Awurade, ɛfiri sɛ ɔne me adi no yie. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ no.
I will sing to Yahweh because he has treated me very generously.
