< Nnwom 129 >

1 Ɔsoroforɔ dwom. “Wɔahyɛ me so pii firi me mmɔfraase, ma Israel nka.
A Song of Ascents. Many a time, have they harassed me from my youth, well may Israel say:
2 “Wɔahyɛ me so pii firi me mmɔfraase, nanso wɔntumi nnii me so nkonim.
Many a time, have they harassed me from youth, yet have they not prevailed against me.
3 Fentemfoɔ afentem mʼakyi ayɛ wɔn nkofie atentene.
Upon my back, have ploughmen ploughed, They have lengthened their furrow!
4 Nanso Awurade yɛ ɔteneneeni; Watwitwa amumuyɛfoɔ nhoma afiri me ho.”
Yahweh, is righteous, He hath cut asunder the cords of the lawless.
5 Ma wɔn a wɔtan Sion nyinaa mfa animguaseɛ nsane wɔn akyi.
Let all who hate Zion, be ashamed and shrink back:
6 Ma wɔnyɛ sɛ ɛserɛ a ɛwɔ ɔdan atifi, ɛnnyini na ahye;
Let them become like the grass of housetops, which, before it is pulled up, hath withered;
7 Ɛremma otwafoɔ nya biribi wɔ ne nsam, na deɛ ɔboaboa ano nso renya hwee nʼabasa so.
Wherewith no reaper, hath filled his hand, nor binder, his bosom:
8 Mma wɔn a wɔtwam hɔ nnka sɛ, “Awurade nhyira mmra mo so; yɛhyira mo wɔ Awurade din mu.”
Neither have the passers-by ever said, The blessing of Yahweh, be unto you, —We have blessed you in the Name of Yahweh.
