1 Ɔsoroforɔ dwom. Dawid deɛ. Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa a, ma Israel nka.
A song of ascents. Of David. “Had it not been the Lord who was for us” let Israel say
2 Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa ɛberɛ a nnipa to hyɛɛ yɛn so,
“Had it not been the Lord who was for us when enemies rose against us,
3 ɛberɛ a wɔn abufuo sɔree tiaa yɛn a, anka wɔmenee yɛn anikann;
then alive they’d have swallowed us up, when their anger was kindled against us.
4 anka nsuyire no bu faa yɛn so, anka ɔhweam no twee yɛn kɔeɛ,
Then the waters would’ve swept us away, and the torrent passed over us clean:
5 anka nsuo a ano yɛ den no afa yɛn kɔ.
then most sure would’ve passed over us clean the wild seething waters.”
6 Nkamfoɔ nka Awurade a wɔamma ho kwan amma wɔamfa wɔn se antete yɛn mu.
Blest be the Lord who has given us not to be torn by their teeth.
7 Yɛadwane sɛ anomaa afiri afirisumfoɔ afidie mu; afidie no mu abubu, ama yɛanya ɛkwan adwane.
We are like a bird just escaped from the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Yɛn mmoa wɔ Awurade din mu, ɔsoro ne asase Yɛfoɔ no.
Our help is the name of the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.
