< Nnwom 118 >
1 Monna Awurade ase ɛfiri sɛ ɔyɛ, na nʼadɔeɛ wɔ hɔ daa.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; because unto eternity endureth his kindness.
2 Momma Israel nka sɛ, “Nʼadɔeɛ wɔ hɔ daa.”
Let Israel then say so; because to eternity endureth his kindness.
3 Momma Aaron fie nka sɛ, “Nʼadɔeɛ wɔ hɔ daa.”
Let the house of Aaron then say so; because to eternity endureth his kindness.
4 Momma wɔn a wɔsuro Awurade nka sɛ, “Nʼadɔeɛ wɔ hɔ daa.”
Let those who fear the Lord then say so; because to eternity endureth his kindness.
5 Mʼahohiahia mu, mesu frɛɛ Awurade; ɔgyee me so, na ɔma me dee me ho.
From the midst of distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me with enlargement.
6 Awurade ne me ɔboafoɔ; enti merensuro. Ɛdeɛn na onipa bɛtumi ayɛ me?
The Lord is for me; I will not fear: what can a man do unto me?
7 Awurade ne me wɔ hɔ; ɔyɛ me ɔboafoɔ. Mede nkonimdie bɛhwɛ mʼatamfoɔ.
The Lord is for me, among those that help me: therefore shall I indeed look on [the punishment of] those that hate me.
8 Ɛyɛ sɛ yɛbɛhinta wɔ Awurade mu sene sɛ yɛde yɛn ho bɛto onipa soɔ.
It is better to seek shelter with the Lord than to trust in man.
9 Ɛyɛ sɛ yɛbɛhinta Awurade mu sene sɛ yɛde yɛn ho bɛto mmapɔmma so.
It is better to seek shelter with the Lord than to trust in princes.
10 Amanaman no nyinaa twaa me ho hyiaaɛ, nanso Awurade din mu metwitwaa wɔn guiɛ.
All nations encompassed me about; but in the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
11 Wɔtwaa me ho hyiaeɛ wɔ baabiara, nanso Awurade din mu, metwitwaa wɔn guiɛ.
They encompassed me about: yea, they compassed about, but in the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
12 Wɔkyere guu me so sɛ nwowa, nanso wɔhyee ntɛm so sɛ nkasɛɛ a ogya atɔ mu; Awurade din mu metwitwaa wɔn guiɛ.
They encompassed me about like bees; they blazed up like the fire of thorns; but in the name of the Lord I will surely cut them off.
13 Wɔsum me kɔɔ mʼakyi a anka mereyɛ ahwe ase, nanso Awurade boaa me.
Thou hast thrust violently at me that I might fall; but the Lord assisted me.
14 Awurade yɛ mʼahoɔden ne me dwom; wayɛ me nkwagyeɛ.
My strength and song is the Lord, and he is become my salvation.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous: the right hand of the Lord doth valiantly.
16 Wɔapagya Awurade nsa nifa so; Awurade nsa nifa ayɛ nneɛma akɛseɛ!”
The right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord doth valiantly.
I shall not die, but I shall live, and relate the works of the Lord.
18 Awurade atwe mʼaso denden, nanso ɔnnyaa me mmaa owuo.
Severely hath the Lord chastised me; but unto death hath he not given me up.
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will enter into them. I will give thanks unto the Lord.
This is the gate which belongeth unto the Lord, the righteous shall enter thereby.
21 Mɛda wo ase ɛfiri sɛ wogyee me so; na woayɛ me nkwagyeɛ.
I will thank thee: for thou but answered me, and art become my salvation.
22 Ɔboɔ a adansifoɔ no poeɛ no, abɛyɛ tweatiboɔ.
The stone which the builders rejected is become the chief corner-stone.
23 Awurade na ayɛ yei, na ɛyɛ nwanwa wɔ yɛn ani so.
From the Lord is this come to pass, it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 Ɛnnɛ yɛ ɛda a Awurade ayɛ. Momma yɛn ani nnye na yɛnni ahurisie.
This is the day which the Lord hath made, we will be glad and rejoice thereon.
25 Ao Awurade, gye yɛn nkwa; Ao Awurade, ma yɛn nkɔsoɔ.
We beseech thee, O Lord, save [us] now: we beseech thee, O Lord, send [us] now prosperity.
Yɛhyira wo firi Awurade fie.
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord: we bless you out of the house of the Lord.
Momfa nnua mman nkura na yɛnto afahyɛ santen nkɔ afɔrebukyia no mmɛn ho.
God is the Lord, and he giveth us light: bind the festive sacrifice with cords, [leading it] up to the horns of the altar.
28 Woyɛ me Onyankopɔn, na meda wo ase; wone me Onyankopɔn, na mɛma wo so.
Thou art my God, and I will thank thee: my God, I will exalt thee.
29 Monna Awurade ase, ɛfiri sɛ ɔyɛ; na nʼadɔeɛ wɔ hɔ daa.
Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; because to eternity endureth his kindness.
