< Nnwom 116 >

1 Medɔ Awurade ɛfiri sɛ, ɔtee me nne. Ɔtee me mmɔborɔhunu su.
It is lovely to me that the Lord heareth my voice, my supplications.
2 Esiane sɛ ɔbrɛɛ nʼaso maa me enti, mɛfrɛ no wɔ ɛberɛ a mete ase yi.
For he hath inclined his ear unto me: therefore throughout all my days will I call on him.
3 Owuo nhoma kyekyeree me, ɛda ho ahometeɛ baa me so, ɔhaw ne awerɛhoɔ hyɛɛ me so. (Sheol h7585)
The bands of death had compassed me, and the pangs of the nether world had overtaken me; I had met with distress and sorrow: (Sheol h7585)
4 Afei mebɔɔ Awurade din kaa sɛ, “Ao Awurade, gye me nkwa!”
I then called on the name of the Lord, I beseech thee, O Lord, release my soul.
5 Awurade yɛ ɔdomfoɔ ne ɔteneneeni; ayamhyehyeɛ ahyɛ yɛn Onyankopɔn ma.
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; and our God is merciful.
6 Awurade bɔ ɔwɛmfoɔ ho ban; ɛberɛ a mewɔ ahohiahia mu no, ɔgyee me.
The Lord preserveth the simple: I was in misery, and he helped me.
7 Nya abotɔyam bio, Ao me kra, ɛfiri sɛ Awurade ne wo adi no yie.
Return, O my soul, unto thy rest; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Na wo, Ao Awurade, woagye me kra afiri owuo mu; woamma mʼani amporo nisuo, na woamma me nan ansunti,
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
9 sɛ mɛnante Awurade anim wɔ ateasefoɔ asase so.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of life.
10 Megye diiɛ; ɛno enti mekaa sɛ, “Mewɔ ahohia kɛseɛ mu.”
I believe, therefore will I speak: I was greatly afflicted;
11 Na mʼabasamtuo mu, mekaa sɛ, “Nnipa nyinaa yɛ atorofoɔ.”
I indeed said in my despondency, Every man is a liar.
12 Ɛdeɛn na mɛtumi de atua Awurade ka wɔ ne papa a wayɛ ama me nyinaa?
What shall I give in return unto the Lord for all his bounties toward me?
13 Mɛma nkwagyeɛ kuruwa no so na mabɔ Awurade din.
The cup of salvation will I lift up, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
14 Mɛdi ɛbɔ a mahyɛ Awurade no nyinaa so wɔ ne nkurɔfoɔ nyinaa anim.
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people.
15 Nʼahotefoɔ wuo yɛ aboɔden wɔ Awurade ani so.
Grievous in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his pious ones.
16 Ao Awurade, ampa ara meyɛ wo ɔsomfoɔ; meyɛ wo ɔsomfoɔ, wʼafenaa babarima; wayi me afiri me mpɔkyerɛ mu.
O Lord, truly am I thy servant, I am thy servant, —the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosened my fetters.
17 Mɛbɔ aseda afɔdeɛ ama wo na mabɔ Awurade din.
Unto thee will I offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
18 Mɛdi me bɔ a mahyɛ Awurade no so wɔ ne nkurɔfoɔ nyinaa anim,
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people,
19 wɔ adihɔ a ɛwɔ Awurade fie wɔ wo mfimfini, Ao Yerusalem. Monkamfo Awurade.
In the courts of the house of the Lord, in thy midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
