< Nnwom 114 >
1 Ɛberɛ a Israelfoɔ firii Misraim, na Yakob fiefoɔ firii ananafoɔ asase so no,
When Israel came forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Yuda bɛyɛɛ Awurade kronkronbea na Israel bɛyɛɛ nʼahemman.
Judah was his sanctuary, And Israel his dominion.
3 Ɛpo no huruiɛ na ɛdwaneeɛ, Yordan sanee nʼakyi;
The sea beheld, and fled; The Jordan turned back.
4 Mmepɔ hurihurii sɛ nnwennini nkokoɔ nso hurihurii sɛ nnwammaa.
The mountains skipped like rams, And the hills like lambs.
5 Ɛdeɛn na ɛbaeɛ, Ao ɛpo, na wodwaneeɛ, Ao Yordan, na wosanee wʼakyi,
What aileth thee, O thou sea! that thou fleest? Thou, Jordan, that thou runnest back?
6 mo mmepɔ, na mohurihuri sɛ nnwennini, na mo nkokoɔ, mohurihuri sɛ nnwammaa?
Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams, And ye hills like lambs?
7 Asase, ma wo ho mpopo wɔ Awurade anim, wɔ Yakob Onyankopɔn anim,
Tremble, O earth! at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 ɔno na ɔmaa ɔbotan no danee asubura, na abotan a ɛyɛ den danee nsuwa nsuwa no.
Who turned the rock into a standing lake, And the flint into a fountain of water!
