1 Dawid dwom. Ao Onyankopɔn, mʼakoma atɔ me yam; mede me kra nyinaa bɛto wʼayɛyie dwom.
A song. A psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I would sing, I would make music; awake, my soul.
2 Monyane, sankuo ne bɛnta! Mɛnyane anɔpahema.
Awake, harp and lyre; I would wake the dawn.
3 Ao Awurade, mɛkamfo wo wɔ aman no mu; mɛto wo ho dwom wɔ nnipa no mu.
I would praise you among the peoples, O Lord; make music among the nations to you.
4 Wʼadɔeɛ so, ɛkorɔn sene ɔsoro; wo nokorɛdie duru ewiem.
For great to heaven is your love, and your faithfulness to the clouds.
5 Ao Onyankopɔn, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔma wo so tra ɔsoro, na ama wʼanimuonyam aba asase nyinaa so.
Be exalted, O God, o’er the heavens, and your glory o’er all the earth.
6 Fa wo nsa nifa gye yɛn na boa yɛn, na ama wɔn a wodɔ wɔn no anya nkwa.
So those you love may be rescued, save by your right hand and answer us.
7 Onyankopɔn akasa afiri ne kronkronbea sɛ, “Nkonim mu na mɛkyɛ Sekem mu na masusu Sukot Bɔnhwa.
God did solemnly swear: “As victor will I divide Shechem, portion out the valley of Succoth.
8 Gilead yɛ me dea; Manase nso saa ara; Efraim yɛ me dadeɛ kyɛ, Yuda yɛ mʼahempoma.
Mine is Gilead, mine is Manasseh, Ephraim is my helmet, Judah my sceptre of rule,
9 Moab yɛ me dwaresɛn, Edom so na meto me mpaboa guo; Filistia so na mebɔ ose.”
Moab the pot that I wash in, on Edom I hurl my sandal, I shout o’er Philistia in triumph.”
10 Hwan na ɔde me bɛkɔ kuropɔn a wɔabɔ ho ban no mu? Hwan na ɔbɛdi mʼanim akɔ Edom?
O to be brought to the fortified city! O to be led into Edom!
11 Ao Onyankopɔn, ɛnyɛ wo na woapo yɛn? Wo ne yɛn nsraadɔm renkɔ ɔsa bio anaa?
Have you not spurned us, O God? You do not march forth with our armies.
12 Boa yɛn tia ɔtamfoɔ no, na ɔdasani mmoa nka hwee.
Grant us help from the foe, for human help is worthless.
13 Onyankopɔn wɔ yɛn afa yi, yɛbɛdi nkonim, na ɔbɛtiatia yɛn atamfoɔ so. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ no.
With God we shall yet do bravely, he himself will tread down our foes.
