< Nnwom 102 >
1 Aberanteɛ mmɔborɔni mpaeɛbɔ. Ɛberɛ a ne home te no na ɔka nʼahometesɛm kyerɛ Awurade. Ao Awurade tie me mpaeɛbɔ; na ma me mmoa ho sufrɛ nnuru wʼanim.
A Prayer for the Poor; when he is deeply afflicted, and pours out his supplication before the Lord. Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to thee.
2 Mfa wʼanim nhinta me ɛberɛ a mewɔ ahohiahia mu. Brɛ wʼaso ase ma me; na sɛ mesu mefrɛ wo a, gye me so ntɛm.
Turn not away thy face from me: in the day [when] I am afflicted, incline thine ear to me: in the day [when] I shall call upon thee, speedily hear me.
3 Me nkwa nna reyera te sɛ wisie; me nnompe hyehye te sɛ egya.
For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones have been parched like a stick.
4 Mʼakoma aboto na akusa sɛ ɛserɛ; na me kɔn nnɔ aduane.
I am blighted like grass, and my heart is dried up; for I have forgotten to eat my bread.
5 Mʼapinisie denden enti maka honam ne nnompe.
By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bone has cleaved to my flesh.
6 Mete sɛ ɛserɛ so patuo, te sɛ ɔpatuo a ɔte mmubuiɛ mu.
I have become like a pelican of the wilderness;
7 Meda hɔ a, mʼani gu so; mayɛ sɛ anomaa bi a ɔno nko ara si ɛdan atifi.
I have become like an owl in a ruined house. I have watched, and am become as a sparrow dwelling alone on a roof.
8 Ɛda mu nyinaa mʼatamfoɔ bɔ me akutia. Wɔn a wɔdi me ho fɛ no bɔ me din de dome.
All the day long mine enemies have reproached me; and they that praised me have sworn against me.
9 Mede nsõ ayɛ mʼaduane na mede nisuo fra me nsuo mu
For I have eaten ashes as it were bread, and mingled my drink with weeping;
10 ɛsiane wʼabufuhyeɛ denden no enti, woama me so, ayi me asi nkyɛn.
because of thine anger and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and dashed me down.
11 Me nkwa nna te sɛ anwummerɛ sunsum; na mekusa sɛ ɛserɛ.
My days have declined like a shadow; and I am withered like grass.
12 Nanso, wo Awurade, woyɛ ɔhene daa daa; na wo din a ahyeta no te hɔ daa awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ nyinaa mu.
But thou, Lord, endurest for ever, and thy memorial to generation and generation.
13 Wobɛsɔre na woahunu Sion mmɔbɔ; berɛ aduru sɛ wohunu no mmɔbɔ; ɛberɛ a wohyɛeɛ no aso.
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Sion: for [it is] time to have mercy upon her, for the set time is come.
14 Nʼaboɔ som bo ma wʼasomfoɔ; ne mfuturo hyɛ wɔn awerɛhoɔ.
For thy servants have taken pleasure in her stones, and they shall pity her dust.
15 Amanaman no bɛsuro Awurade din; asase so ahemfo nyinaa bɛdi wʼanimuonyam ni.
So the nations shall fear thy name, O Lord, and all kings thy glory.
16 Awurade bɛkyekyere Sion bio, na wapue wɔ nʼanimuonyam mu.
For the Lord shall build up Sion, and shall appear in his glory.
17 Ɔbɛtie mmɔborɔfoɔ mpaeɛbɔ; na ɔremmu nʼani ngu wɔn sufrɛ so.
He has had regard to the prayer of the lowly, and has not despised their petition.
18 Montwerɛ yei mma nkyirimma, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔn a wɔnnya nwoo wɔn bɛkamfo Awurade;
Let this be written for another generation; and the people that shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 “Awurade hwɛɛ fam firi ne kronkronbea wɔ soro hɔ; ɔfiri soro hwɛɛ asase,
For he has looked out from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord looked upon the earth from heaven;
20 sɛdeɛ ɔbɛte nneduafoɔ apinisie na wagyaa wɔn a wɔabu wɔn kumfɔ no.”
to hear the groaning of the fettered ones, to loosen the sons of the slain;
21 Enti, wɔbɛpae mu abɔ Awurade din wɔ Sion na wɔakamfo no wɔ Yerusalem,
to proclaim the name of the Lord in Sion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 ɛberɛ a amanaman ne ahennie ahodoɔ bɛhyiam na wɔasom Awurade.
when the people are gathered together, and the kings, to serve the Lord.
23 Ɔmaa me yɛɛ mmerɛ wɔ ɛberɛ a merenyini. Ɔtwaa me nkwa nna so.
He answered him in the way of his strength: tell me the fewness of my days.
24 Enti mekaa sɛ, “Ao me Onyankopɔn, mfa me nkɔ, wɔ me nkwa nna mfimfini; wo mfeɛ wɔ hɔ daa kɔduru awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ nyinaa mu.
Take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years [are] through all generations.
25 Ahyɛaseɛ no, wotoo asase fapem, na ɔsoro yɛ wo nsa ano adwuma.
In the beginning thou, O Lord, didst lay the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.
26 Ne nyinaa bɛtwam, na wo deɛ, wobɛtena hɔ daa; wɔbɛtete te sɛ atadeɛ. Wobɛsesa wɔn te sɛ ntoma na wɔbɛto wɔn agu.
They shall perish, but thou remainest: and [they all] shall wax old as a garment; and as a vesture shalt thou fold them, and they shall be changed.
27 Nanso, wote sɛdeɛ woteɛ, na wo mfeɛ to rentwa da.
But thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
28 Wʼasomfoɔ mma bɛtena nkwa mu wɔ wʼanim; na wɔn asefoɔ ase bɛtim wɔ wʼanim.”
The children of thy servants shall dwell [securely], and their seed shall prosper for ever.
