< Nnwom 10 >

1 Adɛn enti, Ao Awurade, na wogyina akyirikyiri saa? Adɛn enti na wode wo ho ahinta wɔ amanehunu mmerɛ mu yi?
Why do you stand far off, Jehovah? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 Ɔmumuyɛfoɔ de ahantan taataa mmɔborɔfoɔ, wɔn a mfidie a wɔasunsum yi wɔn.
In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.
3 Ɔde deɛ nʼakoma hwehwɛ hoahoa ne ho; ɔhyira ɔdifodepɛfoɔ, na ɔyi Awurade ahi.
For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings, and he blesses the greedy, scorning Jehovah.
4 Ahantan enti, omumuyɛfoɔ nhwehwɛ Awurade; na Onyankopɔn nni ne nsusuiɛ nyinaa mu.
The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek. All his thoughts are "There is no God."
5 Nʼakwan nyinaa mu, ɔdi yie; ɔma ne ho so, na wo mmara mfa ne ho; na ɔdi nʼatamfoɔ nyinaa ho fɛw.
His ways are firm at all times. Your judgments are turned aside. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
He says in his heart, "I shall not be shaken. From generation to generation I shall not experience calamity."
7 Nnome, atorɔ ne ahunahuna ahyɛ nʼanom ma; Ɔhaw ne mmusuo hyɛ ne tɛkrɛma ase.
His mouth is full of cursing and bitterness and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
8 Ɔtɛ wɔ nkuraase; ɔfiri atɛeɛ kum deɛ ɔnnim hwee, na ɔhwɛ wɔn a ɔrepɛ wɔn akum wɔn.
He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.
9 Ɔte sɛ gyata a wahinta; ɔtɛ sɛ ɔbɛkyere mmɔborɔni; ɔkyere wɔn twe wɔn ase de wɔn kɔ ne bɔn mu.
He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.
10 Ɔdwerɛ wɔn a ɔkyere wɔn no ma wɔtɔ baha; na ɔde nʼahoɔden ka wɔn hyɛ.
The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.
He says in his heart, "God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it."
12 Sɔre, Awurade! Ma wo nsa so, Ao Onyankopɔn. Mma wo werɛ mfiri wɔn a wɔnni aboafoɔ.
Arise, Jehovah. God, lift up your hand. Do not forget the helpless.
Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, "You will not seek (an accounting)."
But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.
15 Bubu omumuyɛfoɔ ne ɔbɔnefoɔ aprɛ; frɛ no na ɔmmɛbu nʼamumuyɛ ho nkontaa, amumuyɛ a anka wɔrenhunu no.
Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.
16 Awurade yɛ ɔhene daa nyinaa; amanaman no bɛyera nʼasase so.
Jehovah is King forever and ever. The nations have perished from his land.
17 Ao Awurade, wotie awiɛmfoɔ adesrɛ; wohyɛ wɔn nkuran, na wotie wɔn sufrɛ,
Jehovah, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,
to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.
