< 4 Mose 23 >
1 Balaam ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Si afɔrebukyia nson wɔ ha, na siesie anantwie mma nson ne nnwennini nson fa wɔn bɔ afɔdeɛ.”
And Balaam sayd vnto Balak, Builde me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullockes, and seuen rammes.
2 Balak tiee Balaam asɛm no, enti ɔde nantwie ba ne odwennini ba bɔɔ afɔrebukyia nson no biara so afɔdeɛ.
And Balak did as Balaam sayd, and Balak and Balaam offred on euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.
3 Afei Balaam ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Sɔre gyina wo ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ no ho na mɛhwɛ sɛ Awurade bɛhyia me, na asɛm a ɔbɛka akyerɛ me no nso, mɛka akyerɛ wo.” Enti, ɔforo kɔɔ apampam baabi.
Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Stande by the burnt offring, and I will goe, if so be that the Lord will come and meete me: and whatsoeuer he sheweth me, I will tell thee: so he went forth alone.
4 Ɛhɔ na Onyankopɔn hyiaa no. Balaam ka kyerɛɛ Awurade sɛ, “Masiesie afɔrebukyia nson. Mabɔ afɔrebukyia no biara so nantwie ba ne odwennini ba afɔdeɛ.”
And God met Balaam, and Balaam sayd vnto him, I haue prepared seuen altars, and haue offred vpon euery altar a bullocke and a ramme.
5 Afei, Awurade de nkra maa Balaam sɛ ɔnkɔka nkyerɛ ɔhene Balak.
And the Lord put an answere in Balaams mouth, and sayde, Go againe to Balak, and say on this wise.
6 Ɛberɛ a Balaam sane baeɛ no, na ɔhene no ne ahenemma a wɔfiri Moab no gyina ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ no ho.
So when he returned vnto him, loe, hee stoode by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Moab.
7 Nkɔmhyɛ a Balaam de maaeɛ no nie: “Ɔhene Balak soma bɛfrɛɛ me firii Aram. Moabhene frɛɛ me firii apueeɛ fam nkokoɔ so. Ɔkaa sɛ, ‘Bra bɛdome Yakob ma me! Bra bɛka mmusuo a ɛbɛba Israelfoɔ so.’
Then he vttered his parable, and sayde, Balak the king of Moab hath brought mee from Aram out of the mountaines of the East, saying, Come, curse Iaakob for my sake: come, and detest Israel.
8 Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na matumi madome wɔn a Onyankopɔn nnomee wɔn? Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na matumi abu wɔn fɔ, nnipa a Awurade mmuu wɔn fɔ?
How shall I curse, where God hath not cursed? or howe shall I detest, where the Lord hath not detested?
9 Mehunu wɔn firi abotan atifi; mehwɛ wɔn firi nkokoɔ so. Mehunu nnipa a wɔte wɔn ho ase, a wɔayi wɔn afiri amanaman mu.
For from the top of the rocks I did see him, and from the hils I did beholde him: lo, the people shall dwell by themselues, and shall not be reckened among the nations.
10 Hwan na ɔbɛtumi akan Yakob asefoɔ, wɔdɔɔso sɛ mfuturo? Hwan na ɔbɛtumi akan Israelfoɔ nkyɛmu ɛnan mu baako? Ma menwu sɛ ɔteneneeni; na mawieɛ nyɛ sɛ wɔn deɛ.”
Who can tell the dust of Iaakob, and the nomber of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last ende be like his.
11 Ɔhene Balak bisaa Balaam sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na woayɛ me yi? Mede wo baa sɛ bɛdome mʼatamfoɔ, nanso woahyira wɔn!”
Then Balak saide vnto Balaam, What hast thou done vnto mee? I tooke thee to curse mine enemies, and beholde, thou hast blessed them altogether.
12 Nanso, Balaam buaa sɛ, “Metumi aka biribi a Awurade nkaa sɛ menka anaa?”
And he answered, and said, Must I not take heede to speake that, which the Lord hath put in my mouth?
13 Afei, Balak ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Bra na yɛnkɔ baabi foforɔ. Yɛduru hɔ a, wobɛhunu ɔman Israel fa bi wɔ hɔ. Dome wɔn a wobɛhu wɔn wɔ hɔ no nyinaa.”
And Balak sayde vnto him, Come, I pray thee, with mee vnto another place, whence thou mayest see them, and thou shalt see but the vtmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: therefore curse them out of that place for my sake.
14 Ɔhene Balak faa Balaam de no kɔɔ Sofim bepɔ Pisga atifi. Ɔsii afɔrebukyia nson wɔ hɔ. Ɛnna ɔde nantwie ba ne odwennini bɔɔ afɔrebukyia biara so afɔdeɛ.
And he brought him into Sede-sophim to the top of Pisgah, and built seuen altars, and offred a bullocke, and a ramme on euery altar.
15 Afei, Balaam ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ, “Gyina wo ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ no ho wɔ ha na me nso merekɔhyia Awurade.”
After, he sayde vnto Balak, Stande here by thy burnt offring, and I wil meete the Lord yonder.
16 Awurade hyiaa Balaam na ɔkaa asɛm a ɔnkɔka kyerɛɛ no.
And the Lord mette Balaam, and put an answere in his mouth, and sayd, Goe againe vnto Balak, and say thus.
17 Enti, ɔsane baa baabi a ɔhene no ne Moab ahenemma no wɔ a wɔgyina wɔn ɔhyeɛ afɔdeɛ no ho. Ɔhene no de ahopere bisaa sɛ, “Awurade aka sɛn?”
And when he came to him, beholde, hee stoode by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him: so Balak sayde vnto him, What hath the Lord sayd?
18 Nkɔmhyɛ a Balaam de maaeɛ no nie: “Balak, sɔre na tie; Sipor babarima tie me.
And he vttered his parable, and sayde, Rise vp, Balak, and heare: hearken vnto me, thou sonne of Zippor.
19 Onyankopɔn nnyɛ onipa na wadi atorɔ; Ɔnyɛ onipa na wasesa nʼadwene. Wakasa a wanyɛ anaa? Wahyɛ bɔ bi pɛn a wanni so anaa?
God is not as man, that he should lie, neither as the sonne of man that he shoulde repent: hath he sayde and shall he not do it? and hath he spoken, and shall he not accomplish it?
20 Wɔhyɛɛ me sɛ menhyira; wahyira, na merentumi nnane no!
Behold, I haue receiued commandement to blesse: for he hath blessed, and I cannot alter it.
21 “Menhunu amanehunu bi a ɛbɛba Yakob so. Ɔhaw biara nni hɔ mma Israel! Awurade, wɔn Onyankopɔn ka wɔn ho. Ɔne wɔn ɔhene!
Hee seeth none iniquitie in Iaakob, nor seeth no transgression in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the ioyfull shoute of a king is among them.
22 Onyankopɔn ayi wɔn afiri Misraim; ɔte sɛ nantwie hoɔdenfoɔ ma wɔn.
God brought them out of Egypt: their strength is as an vnicorne.
23 Nnome biara renka Yakob, abayisɛm biara nni tumi wɔ Israel so. Na wɔbɛka wɔ Yakob ho sɛ, ‘Hwɛ anwanwadeɛ a Onyankopɔn ayɛ ama Israel!’
For there is no sorcerie in Iaakob, nor soothsaying in Israel: according to this time it shalbe sayde of Iaakob and of Israel, What hath God wrought?
24 Saa nnipa yi sɔre sɛ gyataburu. Wɔgyina hɔ sɛ gyata hoɔdenfoɔ. Ɔnnye nʼahome kɔsi sɛ ɔbɛwe nʼahaboa awie na wanom ne mogya nyinaa!”
Behold, the people shall rise vp as a lyon, and lift vp himselfe as a yong lyon: hee shall not lye downe, till he eate of the pray, and till he drinke the blood of the slayne.
25 Ɔhene no ka kyerɛɛ Balaam sɛ, “Sɛ worennome wɔn a, ɛnneɛ nhyira wɔn.”
Then Balak sayde vnto Balaam, Neither curse, nor blesse them at all.
26 Nanso Balaam buaa no sɛ, “Manka ankyerɛ wo sɛ asɛm a Awurade bɛka akyerɛ me sɛ menka no na mɛka?”
But Balaam answered, and saide vnto Balak, Tolde not I thee, saying, All that the Lord speaketh, that must I do?
27 Afei, ɔhene no ka kyerɛɛ Balaam sɛ, “Mede wo bɛkɔ baabi foforɔ. Ebia, ɛhɔ bɛyɛ anisɔ ama Onyankopɔn sɛ wobɛgyina hɔ adome wɔn.”
Againe Balak sayd vnto Balaam, Come, I pray thee, I wil bring thee vnto another place, if so be it wil please God, that thou mayest thence curse them for my sake.
28 Enti, ɔhene Balak faa Balaam de no kɔɔ bepɔ Peor a ani kyerɛ anweatam no atifi pɛɛ so.
So Balak brought Balaam vnto the top of Peor, that looketh toward Ieshmon.
29 Bio, Balaam ka kyerɛɛ ɔhene no sɛ ɔnsi afɔrebukyia nson na ɔnsiesie nantwie mma nson ne nnwennini mma nson mma afɔrebɔ.
Then Balaam sayde vnto Balak, Make me here seuen altars, and prepare me here seuen bullocks, and seuen rammes.
30 Ɔhene no yɛɛ deɛ Balaam kaeɛ no, enti ɔde nantwie ba ne odwennini ba bɔɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ afɔrebukyia nson no biara so.
And Balak did as Balaam had sayd, and offred a bullocke and a ram on euery altar.
