< Mateo 5 >
1 Ɔhunuu nnipakuo no saa no, ɔkɔɔ bepɔ bi so. Ɔtenaa ase no, nʼasuafoɔ no kɔɔ ne nkyɛn.
When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,
2 Na ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
and He began to teach them, saying:
3 “Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔyɛ ahiafoɔ wɔ honhom mu, na wɔn na ɔsoro ahennie yɛ wɔn dea.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn werɛ aho, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛkyekyere wɔn werɛ.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Nhyira ne ahobrɛasefoɔ, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛma wɔadi asase so.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn pɛ ne sɛ wɔbɛyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛdeɛ, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛma wɔn deɛ ɛhia wɔn.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔhunu mmɔbɔ, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛhunu wɔn mmɔbɔ.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Nhyira ne wɔn a wɔn akoma mu teɛ, na wɔn na wɔbɛhunu Onyankopɔn.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Nhyira ne apatafoɔ, na wɔn na Onyankopɔn bɛfrɛ wɔn ne mma.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10 Nhyira ne wɔn a ɛsiane sɛ wɔyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛdeɛ enti, wɔtaa wɔn, na wɔn na Ɔsoro Ahennie no yɛ wɔn dea.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Nhyira ne mo a me din mu enti, wɔya mo, taa mo, twa atorɔ, ka asɛmmɔne to mo so.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12 Momma mo ani nnye na monsɛpɛ mo ho, ɛfiri sɛ, mowɔ akatua a ɛso wɔ ɔsoro. Monhunu sɛ saa ara na wɔtaa adiyifoɔ a wɔdii mo ɛkan no.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.
13 “Mone asase yi so nkyene. Sɛ nkyene dɛ yera a, ɛkwan bɛn so na wɔbɛfa ama ayɛ nkyene bio? Ɛnyɛ mma hwee bio, gye sɛ wɔhwie gu na nnipa tiatia so.
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14 “Mone ewiase kanea. Kuro a ɛda bepɔ so no ntumi nhinta.
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Wɔnsɔ kanea mfa nsie, na mmom, wɔde si petee mu na ahyerɛn ama wɔn a wɔwɔ efie no mu no nyinaa.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 Saa ara na momma mo nneyɛeɛ pa nna adi mma nnipa nhunu na wɔnam so ahyɛ mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no animuonyam.
In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
17 “Monnsusu sɛ maba sɛ merebɛsɛe Mmara no anaa Adiyifoɔ no nkyerɛkyerɛ no. Na mmom, maba sɛ merebɛhyɛ no ma sɛdeɛ ne nyinaa bɛba mu pɛpɛɛpɛ.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
18 Monhunu sɛ ɔsoro ne asase da so wɔ hɔ yi, Mmara no mu biribiara rensakra da kɔsi sɛ ne nyinaa bɛba mu.
For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
19 Yei enti, obiara a ɔbɛbu mmaransɛm no mu fa bi so, na ɔbɛkyerɛkyerɛ afoforɔ ama wɔn nso abu mmaransɛm no mu fa bi so no, ɔbɛyɛ akumaa ɔsoro ahennie mu. Na obiara a ɔbɛdi mmara no so, na ɔbɛkyerɛkyerɛ afoforɔ ama wɔn nso adi mmara no soɔ no, ɔbɛyɛ kɛseɛ Ɔsoro Ahennie mu.
So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 Enti, merebɔ mo kɔkɔ sɛ, sɛ mopɛ sɛ mokɔ ɔsoro ahennie mu deɛ a, gye sɛ moyɛ Onyankopɔn apɛdeɛ sene deɛ Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no ne Farisifoɔ no yɛ.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
21 “Mose mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Deɛ ɔdi awuo no, ɔno nso ɛsɛ sɛ wɔkum no bi.’
You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder’ and ‘Anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
22 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ, obiara a ne bo bɛfu ne nua no, wɔbɛbu no atɛn. Bio, obiara a ɔbɛdi ne nua atɛm no, wɔbɛfrɛ no mpanin anim. Afei, obiara a ɔbɛka akyerɛ ne nua sɛ, ‘Ogyimifoɔ’ no, ɔbɛkɔ amanehunu ogya mu. (Geenna )
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell. (Geenna )
23 “Enti, sɛ ɛba sɛ worekɔbɔ afɔdeɛ na wokae sɛ wo ne wo nua wɔ asɛm a,
So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24 gyae afɔdeɛ no bɔ, na kɔ na wo ne wo nua no nkɔbom ansa na woakɔbɔ wʼafɔdeɛ no.
leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
25 “Sɛ wo ne obi nya asɛm a, wo ne no mmɔ mu ntɛm, na wamfa wo ankɔ asɛnniiɛ ankɔma ɔtemmufoɔ, na ɔtemmufoɔ no amfa wo anhyɛ afiasehwɛfoɔ nsa, na afiasehwɛfoɔ no amfa wo ankɔto afiase.
Reconcile quickly with your adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
26 Sɛ ɔde wo kɔ ɔtemmufoɔ anim a, kae sɛ, ansa na wobɛfiri asɛnniiɛ hɔ no, gye sɛ woatua sika biara a wɔregye afiri wo hɔ no.
Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.
27 “Mose mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Nsɛe awadeɛ.’
You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’
28 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ: Obiara a ɔhunu ɔbaa na ne kɔn dɔ no nʼakoma mu no, abɔ adwaman.
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29 Sɛ wʼani baako a ɛyɛ to wo suntidua a, ɛyɛ sɛ wobɛtu ato atwene. Ɛfiri sɛ, ɛyɛ sɛ wobɛhwere wʼakwaa fa bi sene sɛ wɔbɛto wo onipadua no nyinaa atwene amanehunu ogya mu. (Geenna )
If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Geenna )
30 Saa ara nso na sɛ wo nsa a ɛyɛ to wo suntidua a, ɛyɛ sɛ wobɛtwa ato atwene ɛfiri sɛ, ɛyɛ sɛ wobɛhwere wʼakwaa fa bi sene sɛ wɔbɛto wo onipadua nyinaa atwene amanehunu ogya mu. (Geenna )
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell. (Geenna )
31 “Mose mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Obiara a ɔbɛgyaa ne yere no mma no awaregyaeɛ krataa.’
It has also been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
32 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ, sɛ ɔbarima bi gyaa ne yere a ɛnyɛ sɛ ɔbaa no abɔ adwaman, na ɔbaa no sane kɔware bio a, na ɔbarima a ɔgyaee no no ama ɔbaa no asɛe awadeɛ. Ɔbarima foforɔ a ɔbɛware ɔbaa no nso asɛe awadeɛ saa ara.
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery upon her. And he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
33 “Bio, Mose mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Mmu bɔ a woahyɛ Onyankopɔn no so, na mmom, di bɔ a woahyɛ no no so.’
Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’
34 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ: Monnka ntam mfa nhyɛ bɔ. Monnnɔ ɔsoro, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn ahennwa.
But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
35 Monnnɔ fam, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛyɛ Onyankopɔn nan ase adwa. Monnnɔ Yerusalem, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛyɛ ɔhenkɛseɛ kuropɔn.
or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 Mfa wo tiri nka ntam, ɛfiri sɛ, worentumi nnane tirinwi baako mpo mma ɛnyɛ fitaa anaa tuntum.
Nor should you swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
37 Momma mo nsɛm nyɛ ‘Aane’ anaa ‘Dabi.’ Asɛm biara a wobɛka a ɛnyɛ aane anaa dabi no firi ɔbonsam.
Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one.
38 “Mose mmara no ka sɛ, ‘Sɛ obi tu wʼani a, tu ne deɛ bi. Sɛ obi tu wo se nso a, tu ne deɛ bi.’
You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’
39 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ: Mommfa bɔne ntua bɔne so ka! Sɛ obi bɔ wʼaso nifa mu a, dane benkum no nso ma no na ɔmmɔ mu.
But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;
40 Sɛ obi ne wo di asɛm gye wʼatadeɛ nhyɛaseɛ a, worɔ wʼatadeɛ nkatasoɔ ka ho ma no.
if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;
41 Sɛ obi hyɛ wo sɛ, wo ne no nnante kwansin baako a, wo ne no nkɔ akwansini mmienu.
and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
42 Sɛ obi srɛ wo biribi a, fa ma no; obi pɛ sɛ ɔfɛm wo hɔ biribi a, fa fɛm no.
Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
43 “Moate sɛ wɔaka sɛ, ‘Dɔ wo yɔnko, na tane wʼatamfoɔ.’
You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’
44 Na me deɛ, deɛ mereka ne sɛ: monnɔ mo atamfoɔ, na mommɔ mpaeɛ mma wɔn a wɔha mo.
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 Yei bɛma mo ayɛ mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no mma, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔma nʼawia pue, ma ne nsuo tɔ ma nnipa bɔne ne nnipa pa nyinaa pɛ.
that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 Sɛ modɔ wɔn a wɔdɔ mo no nko ara a, akatua bɛn na mobɛnya? Ɛnyɛ saa ara na nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nso yɛ?
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?
47 Sɛ mokyea wɔn a monim wɔn nko ara a, nsonsonoeɛ bɛn na ɛda mo ne afoforɔ ntam? Ɛnyɛ saa ara na nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nso yɛ?
And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?
48 Enti monyɛ pɛ sɛdeɛ mo Agya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no yɛ pɛ no.
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
