< Mateo 26 >
1 Yesu wiee nsɛm yi nyinaa ka no, ɔka kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ,
AND it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples,
2 “Monim sɛ aka nnanu na Twam Afahyɛ no aduru, na wɔbɛyi Onipa Ba no ama, na wɔabɔ no asɛnnua mu.”
Ye know that after two days is the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 Saa ɛberɛ no ara na asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ mpanin bi ahyia mu wɔ Ɔsɔfopanin Kaiafa efie,
Then were the chief priests and scribes, and the elders of the people gathered together in the palace of the high-priest, called Caiaphas.
4 retu agyina ahwehwɛ ɛkwan a wɔbɛfa so akyere Yesu, akum no a obiara renhunu akyire.
And they consulted together, how they might seize Jesus by guile, and put him to death.
5 Nanso, wɔkaa sɛ, “Ɛnsɛ sɛ wɔkyere no Twam Afahyɛ no mu, anyɛ saa a, ɛde basabasayɛ bɛba ɔman no mu.”
But they said, Not on the feast-day, lest there be a tumult among the people.
6 Afei, Yesu kɔɔ Betania na ɔkɔɔ Simon ɔkwatani efie.
Now when Jesus was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Ɔwɔ hɔ redidi no, ɔbaa bi a ɔkura ngo hwamhwam bi a ne boɔ yɛ den yie toa ma baa hɔ, bɛhwie guu Yesu tirim.
there came to him a woman having an alabaster-box of very precious aromatic ointment, and poured it upon his head as he sat at table.
8 Asuafoɔ no hunuiɛ no, anyɛ wɔn dɛ. Wɔkaa sɛ, “Adesɛeɛ yi ase ne sɛn?
But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, For what end is this waste?
9 Anka wɔbɛtumi atɔn sradeɛ hwamhwam yi anya sika bebree de ama ahiafoɔ.”
For this ointment might have been sold for a considerable sum, and given to the poor.
10 Yesu hunuu wɔn adwene, na ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Adɛn na moka deɛ ɔbaa yi yɛeɛ yi ho asɛm saa? Wayɛ ade pa ama me.
Then Jesus knowing it, said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath performed a good act upon me:
11 Mo ne ahiafoɔ wɔ ha daa, na me deɛ, me ne mo nni hɔ daa.
for the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always:
12 Wahwie ngo hwamhwam yi agu me so, de asiesie me onipadua ama me sie.
for in pouring this odoriferous ointment on my body, she hath done it for my burial.
13 Wɔde deɛ ɔyɛeɛ yi bɛkae no daa. Wɔbɛka deɛ ɔyɛeɛ yi wɔ ewiase baabiara a wɔka asɛmpa no.”
Verily I say unto you, Wherever this Gospel is preached through the whole world, what she hath done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.
14 Afei, Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ asuafoɔ dumienu no mu baako kɔɔ asɔfoɔ mpanin no nkyɛn,
Then went one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests,
15 kɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Sɛ meyi Yesu ma mo a, ahe na mode bɛma me?” Wɔmaa no dwetɛ mpɔ aduasa
and said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? Then they placed before him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Ɛfiri saa ɛberɛ no, Yuda hwehwɛɛ kwan a ɔbɛfa so ayi no ama wɔn.
And from that time he sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them.
17 Apiti Afahyɛ da a ɛdi ɛkan no, asuafoɔ no baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛbisaa no sɛ, “Ɛhe na wopɛ sɛ yɛkɔdi Twam Afahyɛ no?”
Then on the first day of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 Ɔbuaa wɔn sɛ, “Monkɔ kuro no mu nkɔhunu ɔpanin asomasi nka nkyerɛ no sɛ, ‘Yɛn Wura se, ne berɛ abɛn, na wo fie na ɔne nʼasuafoɔ no bɛdi Twam Afahyɛ no.’”
And he said, Go into the city, unto such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand: I will keep the passover with my disciples at thy house.
19 Asuafoɔ no dii deɛ ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn no so, yɛɛ Twam Afahyɛ aduane a wɔbɛdi wɔ efie a wɔnyaeɛ no mu.
And his disciples did as Jesus commanded them; and they made ready the passover.
20 Ɛduruu anwummerɛ a ɔne Dumienu no te adidiiɛ no,
And when the evening was come, he sat down at table with the twelve.
21 ɔkaa sɛ, “Mo mu baako bɛyi me ama.”
And as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Asɛm yi maa wɔn werɛ hoo yie, na wɔfirii aseɛ bisabisaa mmaako mmaako sɛ, “Awurade, ɛyɛ me anaa.”
And exceedingly grieved, they began to say to him every one of them, Lord, am I the person?
23 Yesu buaa sɛ, “Deɛ ɔne me didi ayowaa baako mu no, ɔno na ɔbɛyi me ama.
But he answering said, He that dippeth his hand with me into the dish, that man shall betray me.
24 Ɛsɛ sɛ Onipa Ba no wu sɛdeɛ odiyifoɔ no hyɛɛ ne ho nkɔm no; nanso onipa a ɔbɛyi Onipa Ba no ama no, nnue! Sɛ wanwo saa onipa no a, anka ɛyɛ.”
The Son of man indeed is departing, as it is written of him: but wo to that man, by whom the Son of man is betrayed! well had it been for that man if he had never had a being.
25 Yuda nso bisaa no sɛ, “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, ɛyɛ me anaa?” Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Aane.”
Then Judas, who betrayed him, addressing him said, Master, is it I? He saith to him, Thou hast named the person.
26 Ɛberɛ a wɔredidi no. Yesu faa burodo, na ɔhyiraa so bubuu mu, de maa nʼasuafoɔ no kaa sɛ: “Monnye nni, yei ne me onipadua.”
Then as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessing, brake, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
27 Na ɔfaa kuruwa no, na ɔdaa ase no, ɔde maa wɔn kaa sɛ, “Mo nyinaa monnom bi,
And taking the cup, and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this:
28 na yei ne me mogya a ɛhyɛ Apam Foforɔ no mu den, a wɔhwie gu ma nnipa bebree nya bɔne fakyɛ.
for this is my blood, that blood of the new testament, which is shed for many, for the remission of sins.
29 Montie deɛ mereka yi yie. Merennom saa nsã yi bi bio da, de bɛkɔ akɔsi da a me ne mo bɛnom bi bio wɔ mʼAgya Ahennie no mu.”
And I tell you, That I will no more henceforth drink of this produce of the vine, until that day when I drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
30 Na wɔtoo dwom wieeɛ no, wɔfirii adi kɔɔ Ngo Bepɔ no so.
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.
31 Wɔduruu deɛ wɔrekɔ hɔ no, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Anadwo yi, mo nyinaa bɛdwane agya me. Na wɔatwerɛ sɛ, “‘Mɛbɔ odwanhwɛfoɔ no, na nnwankuo no abɔ apete.’
Then saith Jesus unto them, Ye all will be offended at me this night: for it is written, “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.”
32 Na sɛ mesane ba nkwa mu bio a, mɛkɔ Galilea, na makɔhyia mo wɔ hɔ.”
But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Petro ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Sɛ nnipa nyinaa bɛdwane agya wo a, me deɛ, merennwane nnya wo da.”
Then Peter, taking up the word, said to him, Though all should be offended at thee, yet will I never be offended.
34 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Nokorɛm, anadwo yi, akokɔ remmɔn, na woapa me mprɛnsa!”
Jesus saith to him, I tell thee of a certainty, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 Petro pae mu kaa sɛ, “Mpo sɛ ɛtwa sɛ me ne wo wu a, merempa wo da!” Asuafoɔ no nyinaa nso kaa saa asɛm korɔ yi ara.
Peter said to him, Though I should die with thee, never will I deny thee. In like manner also said all the disciples.
36 Yesu de wɔn kɔɔ baabi a wɔfrɛ hɔ Getsemane. Wɔduruu hɔ no, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Montena ha ntwɛn me, na merekɔ mʼanim kakra akɔbɔ mpaeɛ.”
Then cometh Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 Ɔfaa Petro ne Sebedeo mma baanu a wɔn edin de Yakobo ne Yohane kaa ne ho. Ne werɛ hyɛɛ aseɛ hoeɛ, na ne ho nso yeraa no.
And taking Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be deeply sorrowful, and to be overwhelmed with dejection.
38 Ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Awerɛhoɔ ahyɛ me kra so de kɔ owuo mu. Montena ha na mo ne me nwɛn.”
Then saith he to them. My soul is exceeding sorrowful even to death: abide here, and watch with me.
39 Na ɔkɔɔ nʼanim kakra, de nʼanim kɔbutuu fam bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, “MʼAgya, sɛ ɛbɛtumi a, ma kuruwa yi ntwa me ho nkɔ. Nanso, deɛ wopɛ na ɛnyɛ, na nyɛ deɛ mepɛ.”
And going a little farther, he fell on his face, praying, and saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 Na ɔsane baa asuafoɔ baasa no nkyɛn bɛhunuu sɛ wɔadeda. Ɔfrɛɛ Petro bisaa no sɛ, “Petro, woantumi antena ase ne me anwɛn dɔnhwereɛ baako pɛ mpo?
And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and he saith to Peter, Is it so, that ye have not strength to watch with me one hour?
41 Monwɛn na mommɔ mpaeɛ, na moankɔ sɔhwɛ mu. Honhom pɛ deɛ, nanso ɔhonam yɛ mmerɛ!”
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.
42 Ɔsane gyaa wɔn hɔ bio kɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, “MʼAgya, sɛ kuruwa yi rentwa me ho nkɔ, na nom ara na ɛsɛ sɛ menom a, deɛ wopɛ nyɛ.”
Again the second time he went away, and prayed, saying, O my Father, If it be not possible, that this cup pass from me, but that I should drink it, thy will be done.
43 Ɔsane baa wɔn nkyɛn bio bɛhunuu wɔn sɛ wɔadeda ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔn ani kum yie.
And coming, he found them asleep again, for their eyes were weighed down.
44 Ɔsane kɔɔ mpaeɛbɔ a ɛtɔ so mmiɛnsa so kɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ kaa asɛm korɔ no ara.
And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, repeating the same sentence.
45 Ɔsane baa asuafoɔ no nkyɛn bɛka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Afei deɛ, monna na monhome. Hwɛ, ɛdɔn no aduru. Wɔrebɛyi Onipa Ba no ahyɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ nsa!
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Do ye still sleep on, and repose yourselves? lo! the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Monsɔre na yɛnkɔ! Monhwɛ! Deɛ ɔreyi me ama no na ɔreba no!”
Arise, let us go: lo! he that betrayeth me approaches.
47 Ɔgu so rekasa no, Yuda a ɔyɛ asuafoɔ dumienu no mu baako ne dɔm a Yudafoɔ mpanin asoma wɔn a wɔkurakura akofena ne mmaa baa hɔ.
And while he was yet speaking, behold, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Na Yuda aka akyerɛ wɔn sɛ, wɔnkyere onipa a ɔbɛyɛ no atuu no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔno ne onipa a wɔrehwehwɛ no no.
Now he that betrayed him had given them a signal, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he: seize him.
49 Yuda baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛbam no kaa sɛ, “Me wura, atuu!”
And immediately approaching to Jesus, he said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Damfo, deɛ wobaa ha sɛ worebɛyɛ no, yɛ no ntɛm.” Ɛhɔ ara, wɔn a wɔne Yuda nam no kyeree Yesu.
Then spake Jesus to him, Friend, for what purpose art thou here? Then approaching they laid hands on Jesus, and seized him.
51 Wɔn a wɔka Yesu ho no mu baako twee ne akofena de twaa Ɔsɔfopanin no akoa bi aso.
And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretching out his hand, drew his sword, and striking at a servant of the high-priest, cut off his ear.
52 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “To wʼakofena no twene. Na wɔn a wɔtwe akofena no, akofena ano na wɔbɛwuo.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Return thy sword into its sheath: for all who take the sword, shall perish by the sword.
53 Monnim sɛ mɛtumi aka akyerɛ mʼAgya na wasoma nʼabɔfoɔ mpempem aba ntɛm so, na wɔabɛbɔ yɛn ho ban?
Thinkest thou, that I cannot now entreat my Father, and he will give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Nanso, sɛ meyɛ saa a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na deɛ Atwerɛsɛm ka wɔ deɛ asi yi ho no bɛba mu?”
But how then would the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 Yesu bisaa ɛdɔm a wɔbaa ne soɔ no sɛ, “Meyɛ owudifoɔ enti na mode akofena ne mmaa aba me so sɛ mode rebɛkye me? Metenaa mo nkyɛn kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ asɔrefie da biara da, nso moansi me kwan.
In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and staves to apprehend me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid not hold upon me.
56 Nanso, yei nyinaa aba sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a deɛ adiyifoɔ no kaeɛ wɔ Atwerɛsɛm mu no bɛba mu.” Saa ɛberɛ no ara mu na asuafoɔ no nyinaa dwane gyaa no.
But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets should be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 Afei, ɛdɔm a wɔkyeree Yesu no de no kɔɔ Ɔsɔfopanin Kaiafa anim, baabi a Yudafoɔ mpanin nyinaa ahyia hɔ.
Then they who had apprehended Jesus, brought him to Caiaphas the high-priest, where the scribes and elders were assembled.
58 Petro tee ne ho dii nnipadɔm no akyi baa Ɔsɔfopanin no efie hɔ bi. Ɔkɔtenaa asomfoɔ a wɔwɔ hɔ no mu sɛ ɔrehwɛ asɛm a ɛbɛsie.
But Peter followed him at a great distance unto the palace of the high-priest, and entering in, sat down with the servants, to see the issue.
59 Asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Yudafoɔ asɛnnifoɔ akunini nyinaa hyiaa wɔ hɔ hwehwɛɛ sɛ wɔbɛnya adansefoɔ bi a wɔbɛdi adansekurumu ato Yesu so, na wɔagyina so abu no kumfɔ.
Now the chief priests and elders and the whole sanhedrim, sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;
60 Nnipa bebree bɛdii adanseɛ, nanso wɔhunuu sɛ wɔredi adansekurumu ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔn nsɛm a wɔka no nyinaa bɔ abira. Akyire yi, nnipa baanu bi ba bɛkaa
and found none: and though many false witnesses came, they found it not sufficient. But at the last two false witnesses stepping forth,
61 sɛ, “Saa onipa yi kaa sɛ, ‘Mɛtumi abubu Onyankopɔn asɔredan na masi no nnansa!’”
said, This fellow said, I am able to pull down the temple of God, and to build it up in three days.
62 Ɔsɔfopanin no sɔre bisaa Yesu sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na wowɔ ka? Wokaa saa anaasɛ woanka saa?”
And the high-priest rising up, said to him, Answerest thou nothing? what do these men witness against thee?
63 Nanso, Yesu ammua no. Ɔsɔfopanin no ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Meka Onyankopɔn teasefoɔ no sɛ, sɛ wone Agyenkwa no, Onyankopɔn Ba no a, ka kyerɛ yɛn!”
But Jesus was silent. And the high-priest addressing him, said, I adjure thee, by the living God, that thou tell us, if thou art the Messiah, the Son of God.
64 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Aane, woaka. Na daakye mobɛhunu me, Agyenkwa no, sɛ mete Onyankopɔn nifa na menam omununkum mu resane aba.”
Jesus saith to him, Thou hast spoken the fact. Moreover I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Ɔsɔfopanin no sunsuanee nʼatadeɛ mu teaam sɛ, “Abususɛm! Adansefoɔ bɛn na wɔn ho hia yɛn bio? Mo nyinaa ate abususɛm a ɔkaeɛ no!
Then the high-priest rent his garments, saying, he hath blasphemed: what farther need have we of witnesses? lo! now ye have heard his blasphemy:
66 Asɛm bɛn na mowɔ ka?” Wɔn nyinaa teaam sɛ, “Ɔsɛ owuo! Ɔsɛ owuo! Ɔsɛ owuo!”
what think ye? They answered and said, He is deserving of death.
67 Afei, wɔtee ntasuo guu nʼani so. Ebinom bobɔɔ no akuturuku na ebinom nso bobɔɔ no asotorɔ
Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him about; and some slapt his face with their hands,
68 kaa sɛ, “Wone Agyenkwa no! Kyerɛ yɛn deɛ ɔbɔɔ wo?”
saying, Prophesy to us, you Messiah, who it is that struck thee!
69 Saa ɛberɛ no na Petro te adihɔ. Abaayewa bi baa ne nkyɛn bɛka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Wo nso, na wo ne Yesu na ɛnam. Mo nyinaa mofiri Galilea.”
Now Peter sat without in the hall: and there came to him a single maid-servant, saying, Thou also wert with Jesus of Galilee.
70 Nanso, Petro de abufuo sane ne ho sɛ, “Mennim deɛ woreka yi ho hwee.”
But he denied it before them all, asserting, I know not what thou art saying.
71 Akyire yi, abaayewa foforɔ bi hyiaa no ɛpono bi ano ka kyerɛɛ wɔn a ɔne wɔn gyina hɔ no sɛ, “Na saa ɔbarima yi ne Yesu Nasareni no na ɛnam.”
Then as he was going out at the gate, another maid-servant saw him, and saith to those who were there, This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 Petro de ntam sane ne ho bio sɛ, “Mennim saa onipa a moreka ne ho asɛm no.”
Then again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.
73 Ɛkyɛɛ kakra no, mmarima a wɔgyina hɔ no bi bɛka kyerɛɛ petro sɛ, “Yɛnim sɛ woyɛ nʼasuafoɔ no mu baako, na wo kasa nso yi wo adi sɛ woyɛ Galileani.”
But after a little while they who stood by, came up and said to Peter, Assuredly thou also art one of them: for even thy speech maketh thee manifest.
74 Petro hyɛɛ aseɛ dii nse, kekaa ntam sɛ, “Mennim onipa no!” Amonom hɔ ara na akokɔ bɔneeɛ.
Then began he to utter the bitterest curses, and to swear, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 Ɛhɔ na Petro kaee asɛm a Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Akokɔ remmɔn na woapa me mprɛnsa” no. Na ɔfirii adi kɔsuiɛ.
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said unto him, Before the cock shall crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And going out, he wept bitterly.
