< Mateo 11 >
1 Yesu wiee nʼasuafoɔ dumienu no kasakyerɛ no, ɔfirii hɔ kɔɔ nkuro a ɛbemmɛn no mu kɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ asɛm no.
And it came to pass, when Jesus ended directing his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
2 Yohane Osubɔni a saa ɛberɛ no na ɔda afiase no tee anwanwadeɛ a Kristo reyɛ no, ɔsomaa nʼasuafoɔ bɛbisaa no sɛ,
And John having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples,
3 “Wo ne deɛ ɔreba no, anaa yɛnhwɛ ɔfoforɔ anim?”
said to him, 'Art thou He who is coming, or for another do we look?'
4 Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Monsane nkɔ, nkɔka anwanwadeɛ a moahunu ne deɛ moate nkyerɛ Yohane sɛ,
And Jesus answering said to them, 'Having gone, declare to John the things that ye hear and see,
5 anifirafoɔ hunu adeɛ, mmubuafoɔ nante, akwatafoɔ ho ate, asotifoɔ te asɛm, na awufoɔ nso nyane. Afei, monka nkyerɛ no sɛ, meka asɛmpa no kyerɛ ahiafoɔ.
blind receive sight, and lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and deaf hear, dead are raised, and poor have good news proclaimed,
6 Monsane nka nkyerɛ no bio sɛ, Nhyira ne deɛ merenyɛ no suntidua.”
and happy is he who may not be stumbled in me.'
7 Yohane asuafoɔ no kɔeɛ no, Yesu hyɛɛ aseɛ kaa Yohane ho asɛm kyerɛɛ nnipadɔm no. Ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Mokɔɔ ɛserɛ so no, ɛdeɛn na mokɔɔ sɛ morekɔhwɛ? Ɛserɛ a mframa rebɔ no?
And as they are going, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, 'What went ye out to the wilderness to view? — a reed shaken by the wind?
8 Anaa na mosusu sɛ mobɛhunu ɔbarima bi a wahyehyɛ sɛ ɔhene ba te ahemfie?
'But what went ye out to see? — a man clothed in soft garments? lo, those wearing the soft things are in the kings' houses.
9 Anaa Onyankopɔn odiyifoɔ? Ɛnneɛ, mereka makyerɛ mo sɛ, ɔsene odiyifoɔ.
'But what went ye out to see? — a prophet? yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet,
10 Na saa Yohane yi na Atwerɛsɛm no ka fa ne ho sɛ, “‘Mɛsoma me ɔbɔfoɔ adi wʼanim ɛkan. Ɔno na ɔbɛsiesie ɛkwan ama wo.’
for this is he of whom it hath been written, Lo, I do send My messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
Verily I say to you, there hath not risen, among those born of women, a greater than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the reign of the heavens is greater than he.
12 Na ɛfiri ɛberɛ a Yohane Osubɔni firii aseɛ kaa asɛmpa no, bɔɔ nkurɔfoɔ asu de bɛsi ɛnnɛ no, Ɔsoro Ahennie no de tumi retrɛ na nnipadɔm a wɔn ani abereɛ refa no aniɛden so.
'And, from the days of John the Baptist till now, the reign of the heavens doth suffer violence, and violent men do take it by force,
13 Ansa na Yohane rebɛba no, na adiyifoɔ ne Mose mmara no aka ɔsoro ahennie no ho asɛm dada.
for all the prophets and the law till John did prophesy,
14 Sɛ mopɛ sɛ mote deɛ mereka no ase deɛ a, Yohane no, ɔno ne Elia a adiyifoɔ no hyɛɛ ne ho nkɔm sɛ ɔbɛba no.
and if ye are willing to receive [it], he is Elijah who was about to come;
15 Deɛ ɔwɔ aso no, ɔntie!
he who is having ears to hear — let him hear.
16 “Ɛdeɛn ho na mɛtumi de nnɛmmafoɔ yi atoto? Wɔte sɛ mmɔfra a wɔte baabi redi agorɔ. Ɛfa ka kyerɛ ɛfa sɛ,
'And to what shall I liken this generation? it is like little children in market-places, sitting and calling to their comrades,
17 “‘Yɛtoo anigyeɛ nnwom maa mo, nanso moansa. Yɛtoo awerɛhoɔ nnwom nso maa mo, nanso moansu.’
and saying, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance, we lamented to you, and ye did not smite the breast.
18 Yohane baeɛ a ɔnnidi na ɔnnom no, wɔse, ‘Ɔwɔ honhommɔne.’
'For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a demon;
19 Onipa Ba no baeɛ a ɔdidi na ɔnom no nso, wɔse, ‘Monhwɛ odidifoɔ ne ɔsanomfoɔ a ɔyɛ ɔtogyefoɔ ne nnebɔneyɛfoɔ adamfo!’ Nanso, wɔn a wɔdi Onyankopɔn akyi nokorɛ mu no deɛ, wɔn bra di adanseɛ sɛ, nʼakwan nyinaa yɛ.”
the Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Lo, a man, a glutton, and a wine-drinker, a friend of tax-gatherers and sinners, and wisdom was justified of her children.'
20 Afei, ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ kaa nkuro a ɔyɛɛ anwanwadeɛ ahodoɔ wɔ hɔ nanso wɔannu wɔn ho no anim sɛ,
Then began he to reproach the cities in which were done most of his mighty works, because they did not reform.
21 “Korasin, due! Betsaida, due! Anwanwadeɛ a meyɛɛ no mo mu no, sɛ meyɛɛ no Tiro ne Sidon a, anka ɛhɔfoɔ no de awerɛhoɔ ne ahonuo asakyera wɔn adwene dada.
'Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! because, if in Tyre and Sidon had been done the mighty works that were done in you, long ago in sackcloth and ashes they had reformed;
22 Atemmuo da no, asɛm a ɛbɛto wɔn no bɛsene deɛ ɛbɛto Tiro ne Sidon!
but I say to you, to Tyre and Sidon it shall be more tolerable in a day of judgment than for you.
23 Na wo Kapernaum, wopɛ sɛ woma wo ho so, nanso wɔbɛbrɛ wo ase de wo akɔ asaman. Anwanwadeɛ a meyɛɛ no wo hɔ no, sɛ wɔyɛɛ no wɔ Sodom a, anka ɛda so wɔ hɔ bɛsi ɛnnɛ. (Hadēs )
'And thou, Capernaum, which unto the heaven wast exalted, unto hades shalt be brought down, because if in Sodom had been done the mighty works that were done in thee, it had remained unto this day; (Hadēs )
24 Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ mo sɛ, Atemmuo da no, Tiro ne Sodom bɛnya gyinabea pa asene mo!”
but I say to you, to the land of Sodom it shall be more tolerable in a day of judgment than to thee.'
25 Asɛnka no akyi, Yesu bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, “Agya, ɔsoro ne asasewura, meda wo ase sɛ woanna nokorɛ no adi ankyerɛ wɔn a wɔsusu sɛ wɔyɛ anyansafoɔ, na mmom, wodaa nokorɛ no adi kyerɛɛ mmɔfra nkumaa.
At that time Jesus answering said, 'I do confess to Thee, Father, Lord of the heavens and of the earth, that thou didst hide these things from wise and understanding ones, and didst reveal them to babes.
26 Aane, Agya, wo pɛ mu na woma ɛbaa saa.
Yes, Father, because so it was good pleasure before Thee.
27 “Mʼagya no de nneɛma nyinaa ahyɛ me nsa. Obiara nnim Ɔba no gye Agya no nko ara. Na obiara nnim Agya no gye Ɔba no, ne wɔn a Ɔba no pɛ sɛ ɔda no adi kyerɛ wɔn.
'All things were delivered to me by my Father, and none doth know the Son, except the Father, nor doth any know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son may wish to reveal [Him].
28 “Mo a moayɛ adwuma abrɛ na moasoa nnesoa nyinaa, mommra me nkyɛn, na mɛma mo ahome.
'Come unto me, all ye labouring and burdened ones, and I will give you rest,
29 Momfa me kɔnnua nto mo ho so, na monsua me, ɛfiri sɛ, medwo, na mebrɛ me ho ase akoma mu, na mobɛnya ahome ama mo kra.
take up my yoke upon you, and learn from me, because I am meek and humble in heart, and ye shall find rest to your souls,
30 Ɛfiri sɛ, me kɔnnua yɛ mmerɛ, na mʼadesoa yɛ hare.”
for my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.'
