< Marko 8 >
1 Ɛda koro bi a nnipakuo bi aba Yesu nkyɛn no, aduane a wɔdi no saeɛ.
In those days when a large crowd had again assembled and had nothing to eat, Jesus called together his disciples and said to them.
2 Yesu frɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Nnipa yi yɛ me mmɔbɔ. Wɔabɛdi nnansa wɔ ha a, wɔnni aduane biara a wɔbɛdi bio.
"My heart aches for the crowd, because they have remained with me three days now, and they have nothing to eat;
3 Sɛ megya wɔn ɛkwan sɛ wɔnkɔ a wonnidiiɛ a, anhwɛ a na wɔn mu bi atotɔ baha wɔ ɛkwan so, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn mu bi firi akyirikyiri na wɔbaeɛ.”
and if I send them away fasting to their homes, they will faint on the way. Moreover, some of them are from a distance."
4 Nʼasuafoɔ no bisaa no sɛ, “Ɛhefa na yɛbɛnya aduane ama saa nnipa dodoɔ yi wɔ ɛserɛ yi so ha?”
"Where will it be possible," answered his disciples, "for one to fill these men with bread in a lonely place like this?"
5 Ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Burodo ahe na mowɔ?” Wɔbuaa no sɛ, “Yɛwɔ nson.”
He asked them, "How many loaves have you?" "Seven," they said.
6 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ nnipakuo no sɛ wɔntenatena ase wɔ ɛserɛ no so. Afei, ɔfaa burodo nson no, na ɔhyiraa so, bubuu mu de maa nʼasuafoɔ no ma wɔkyɛ maa nnipa no.
So he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground; and when he had taken the seven loaves, he gave thanks, broke them, and gave to his disciples to distribute to the crowd.
7 Na wɔwɔ mpataa kakra wɔ hɔ, enti Yesu hyiraa ɛno nso so, de maa asuafoɔ no sɛ wɔnkyɛ ɛno nso mma wɔn.
They had also a few small fish; after blessing these he told his disciples to distribute them also.
8 Nnipakuo no didi meeɛ no, ɔgyaa wɔn ɛkwan.
They ate and were filled and they took up of broken pieces that were left, seven hampers.
9 Nnipa a wɔdii aduane no dodoɔ bɛyɛ mpemnan. Na wɔtasee aseɛ nnikaeɛ no, ɛyɛɛ nkɛntɛmma nson.
They that had eaten were about four thousand.
10 Yei akyi no, ɔne nʼasuafoɔ no kɔtenaa kodoɔ mu baa Dalmanuta fam.
Then he sent them away, got at once into the boat with his disciples. and came into the district of Dalmanutha.
11 Farisifoɔ no tee sɛ Yesu aba hɔ no, wɔbaa ne nkyɛn bɛbisabisaa no nsɛm, de sɔɔ no hwɛɛ. Wɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Yɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ bi kyerɛ yɛn. Ma nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ bi nna adi wɔ ewiem nkyerɛ yɛn. Ɛno ansa na yɛbɛgye wo adi.”
And the Pharisees came out and began to question him, seeking from him a sign from heaven, by way of testing him.
12 Yesu tee deɛ wɔkaeɛ no, ɔguu ahome, ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Deɛn enti na mohwehwɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ daa yi? Nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ biara nni hɔ a mɛyɛ akyerɛ mo.”
At this Jesus sighed deeply in his spirit, and said. "Why does the present generation seek a sign? In solemn truth I tell you that no sign shall be given this generation."
13 Ɔsane kɔtenaa kodoɔ no mu, gyaa wɔn, tware kɔɔ asuogya nohoa.
Then he left them, and getting into the boat again, went away to the other side,
14 Asuafoɔ no werɛ firii sɛ wɔfa aduane bi kura ansa na wɔakɔ. Aduane a na wɔkura wɔ kodoɔ no mu no yɛ burodo baako pɛ.
Now they had forgotten to take bread, and had not in the boat with them more than one loaf.
15 Wɔretwa asuo no no, Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Monhwɛ mo ho so yie wɔ Ɔhene Herode ne Farisifoɔ mmɔreka ho.”
So he gave them this warning. "Look out! Be on the watch against the leaven of the Pharisees, and the leaven of Herod."
16 Asuafoɔ no bisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho sɛ, “Asɛm a ɔreka yi ase ne sɛn?” Deɛ wɔn adwene kyerɛɛ wɔn ne sɛ, ebia ɔreka aduane a wɔn werɛ firii sɛ wɔbɛfa akuta no ho asɛm.
And they began arguing with one another because they had no bread, He noted this and said to them.
17 Yesu hunuu deɛ wɔdwennwene no, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ ɛno ho asɛm na mereka! Monnte yei ase anaa? Mo akoma da so pirim?
"Why are you arguing together because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive and understand?
18 Mowɔ ani nso monhunu adeɛ? Mowɔ aso nso momfa nte asɛm? Na monnkae biribi anaa?
Are your minds so slow to comprehend? You have eyes, do you not see? You have ears, do you not hear?
19 Ɛberɛ a mebubuu burodo enum mu maa nnipa mpemnum no, nnikaeɛ nkɛntɛmma ahe na motaseeɛ?” Wɔkaa sɛ, “Dumienu.”
Do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand, how many baskets of broken pieces did you take up?" "Twelve," they said.
20 “Na mesane de burodo nson maa nnipa mpemnan no nso, ahe na ɛkaeɛ?” Wɔkaa sɛ, “Nkɛntɛmma nson.”
"And when the seven for the four thousand, how many hampers full of fragments did you pick up?"
21 Ɔbisaa wɔn bio sɛ, “Monnte ase ara anaa?”
"Do you not yet understand?" he said.
22 Ɛberɛ a wɔduruu Betsaida no, nnipa bi de onifirani bi brɛɛ no, srɛɛ no sɛ ɔmfa ne nsa nka no, na ɔnsa no yadeɛ.
Then they came to Bethsaida, where some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and begged him to touch him.
23 Yesu sɔɔ onifirani yi nsa de no kɔɔ akuraa no kurotia. Ɔtee ntasuo guu onifirani no ani so, na ɔde ne nsa guu no so. Yesu bisaa no sɛ, “Wohunu adeɛ anaa?”
Taking the blind man by the hand, he led him outside the village; and, after spitting on his eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, "Can you make out anything?"
24 Onifirani no maa nʼani so hwɛɛ ɔsoro, buaa sɛ, “Aane, mehunu nnipa! Nanso mehunu wɔn sɛ nnua bi na wɔnenam hɔ.”
The man looked up and said, "I can make out the people, for as they move about, I see them like trees."
25 Afei, Yesu de ne nsa kataa nʼani no so bio. Onifirani no buee nʼani, na ɛberɛ a ɔrehwɛ adeɛ haa no, nʼani no yɛɛ yie a afei deɛ na ɔhunu biribiara kann.
Then Jesus again put his hands on the man’s eyes; and the man, staring straight ahead, recovered his sight and continued to see everything perfectly.
26 Yesu ma ɔkɔɔ efie, ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Nsane nkɔ akuraa no ase bio.”
Then Jesus sent him home, saying, "Do not even go into the village."
27 Yesu ne nʼasuafoɔ no firi Galilea kɔɔ Kaesarea ne Filipi nkuraa ase. Wɔnam ɛkwan so rekɔ no, ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Nnipa ka sɛ mene hwan?”
From there Jesus and his disciples went to the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and on the way he began to question his disciples saying, "Who do people say I am?"
28 Asuafoɔ no buaa sɛ, “Ebinom se wone Yohane Osubɔni no, na afoforɔ nso se woyɛ Elia anaasɛ tete adiyifoɔ no mu bi a wasane aba.”
And they told him. "Some say Johnthe Baptist, others, Elijah, and others that you are one of the prophets."
29 Na ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Na mo nso mose meyɛ hwan?” Petro buaa no sɛ, “Wone Kristo no.”
And he continued questioning them, "But you yourselves, Who do you say I am?" Peter in reply said to him, "You are Christ."
30 Ɔbɔɔ wɔn kɔkɔ sɛ, wɔnnka nkyerɛ obiara.
Then he strictly charged them not to say this about him to any one;
31 Afei, ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ Onipa Ba no bɛhunu amane, na mpanimfoɔ, asɔfoɔ mpanin ne Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no bɛpo no, na wɔakum no, na nnansa so, Onipa Ba no bɛsɔre.
and he began to explain to them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests, and the Scribes, and be put to death, and after two days rise again.
32 Ɔkaa asɛm no pefee a wamfa biribiara ansie wɔn. Petro twee no gyinaa nkyɛn, bisaa no sɛ, “Adɛn enti na woka asɛm a ɛte sɛɛ yi?”
This he told them quite openly. Then Peter took him and began to rebuke him.
33 Yesu danee ne ho hwɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no, kaa Petro anim sɛ, “Firi me so, ɔbonsam! Wʼadwene yɛ deɛ ɛfiri onipa na ɛnyɛ deɛ ɛfiri Onyankopɔn.”
But he turned round, and looked upon his disciples, and rebuked Peter. "Get thee behind me, Satan," he said, "for your thoughts are not God’s thoughts, but man’s."
34 Afei, ɔfrɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no ne nnipakuo no baa ne nkyɛn, ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔmmɛtie no. Ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Sɛ obi pɛ sɛ ɔdi mʼakyi a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔpa ne ho akyi, na ɔsoa nʼasɛnnua, na ɔdi mʼakyi.
Then summoning the crowd to him, with his disciples. he said. "If any man wishes to follow me, let him renounce self, take up his cross, and so follow me.
35 Deɛ ɔma ne ɔkra som no bo no, ɛbɛfiri ne nsa. Na deɛ me ne Asɛmpa no enti, ɔbɛhwere ne kra no, wɔbɛgye ne nkwa.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever, for my sake and the gospel’s, loses his life will save it.
36 Na sɛ onipa nya ewiase nyinaa, na ɔhwere ne kra a, mfasoɔ bɛn na ɔbɛnya?
For what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own life?
37 Ɛdeɛn na ɛsom bo sene ne kra?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?
38 Na obiara a saa nna bɔne yi mu nʼani wu me ne me nsɛm ho no, ne ho bɛyɛ me, Onipa Ba no, aniwu ɛberɛ a me ne mʼabɔfoɔ kronkron no bɛsane aba wɔ mʼAgya animuonyam mu no.”
Whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this unfaithful and wicked generation, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
