Marko 12
1 Yesu nam mmɛbuo so kyerɛɛ nnipa no sɛ: “Ɛda bi, okuafoɔ bi yɛɛ bobefuo, gyee ban faa ho, na ɔtuu amena bi a wɔkyi bobe mu nsuo wɔ mu, na ɔsii ɔwɛn aban wɔ mu. Afei, ɔde afuo no gyaa akuafoɔ bi, na ɔtuu ɛkwan.
AND he began to speak to them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and digged a wine-press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad.
2 Ɛduruu ɛberɛ a bobe no bereeɛ a ɛsɛ sɛ wɔte no, ɔsomaa ne ho onipa bi sɛ ɔnkɔgye ne kyɛfa mmrɛ no.
And in the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.
3 Nanso, akuafoɔ no boroo no, ma ɔde ne nsapan sane kɔeɛ.
But they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 Okuafoɔ no sane somaa onipa foforɔ kɔɔ wɔn nkyɛn, na ɔno nso, wɔboroo no, pirapiraa no sene deɛ ɔdi ɛkan no.
And again he sent unto them another servant; and they cut the account short with him, by stoning him, and sent him away shamefully treated.
5 Onipa a ɔsomaa no bio no deɛ, wɔkumm no. Afoforɔ a akyire no wɔkɔeɛ no nso, wɔhwee ebinom, na wɔkumm ebinom nso.
And again he sent another; and him, they slew; and many others, some of whom they beat, and others they killed.
6 “Nanso, na aka ɔbaako a ɔyɛ ne ba a ɔdɔ no. Ɔsomaa ɔno nso kɔɔ wɔn nkyɛn, susuu sɛ wɔbɛfɛre no de anidie ama no.
Now he had yet one son, his beloved, and he sent him unto them last, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 “Nanso, ɛberɛ a akuafoɔ no hunuu no sɛ ɔreba no, wɔkaa sɛ, ‘Ɔdedifoɔ no na ɔreba no. Momma yɛnkum no, na agyapadeɛ no ayɛ yɛn dea!’
But these husbandmen said to each other, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be our own.
8 Wɔkyeree no, kumm no, twee no firii bobe turom hɔ kɔtoo no twenee baabi.
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
9 “Mogye di sɛ, sɛ afu wura no ba a ɛdeɛn na ɔbɛyɛ akuafoɔ no? Ɔbɛba abɛkum wɔn, na ɔde afuo no ama nnipa foforɔ.
What then will the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and give his vineyard to others.
10 Monnkanee yei wɔ Atwerɛsɛm no mu pɛn sɛ: “‘Ɛboɔ a adansifoɔ apo no, ɛno ara na abɛyɛ ɛdan no ntweaso tiboɔ;
Have ye never read this scripture? “The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner:
11 Awurade na wayɛ yei, na ɛyɛ nwanwa wɔ yɛn ani so?’”
this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.”
12 Na ɛsiane saa bɛ a ɔbuiɛ no enti, Yudafoɔ mpanin no pɛɛ sɛ wɔkyere no, ɛfiri sɛ, wohunuu sɛ wɔn ho asɛm na ɔreka no a ɛkyerɛ sɛ, wɔne saa akuafoɔ atirimuɔdenfoɔ no. Nanso na wɔsuro dɔm no. Yei ma wɔgyaee no, na wɔfirii hɔ kɔeɛ.
And they sought to seize him, and were afraid of the people: for they knew that he had spoken this parable against them: and leaving him, they departed.
13 Wɔsomaa Farisifoɔ ne Herodefoɔ bi baa Yesu nkyɛn sɛ wɔne no mmɛkasa, na wɔnam nʼanom asɛm so anya no akyere no.
And they sent unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might entrap him in discourse.
14 Wɔbisaa no sɛ, “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, yɛnim sɛ woyɛ ɔnokwafoɔ a, wotaa ka nokorɛ. Deɛ onipa ka no ntumi nnane wʼadwene. Afei, wokyerɛkyerɛ nnipa Onyankopɔn akwan. Yɛpɛ sɛ yɛbisa wo sɛ, ɛyɛ sɛ wɔyi toɔ ma Roma Hempɔn Kaesare anaa ɛnyɛ?”
And they come and say to him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to pay tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Yesu hunuu wɔn adwemmɔne no kaa sɛ, “Adɛn enti na mosɔ me hwɛ, momfa sika a wɔde yi toɔ no bi nkyerɛ me, na mɛma mo mmuaeɛ.”
shall we pay, or shall we not pay it? but he, perceiving their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a denarius, that I may see it.
16 Wɔde maa no, ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Hwan mfoni ne atwerɛ na ɛwɔ so?” Wɔbuaa sɛ, “Kaesare deɛ.”
And they brought it. And he said unto them, Whose figure and inscription is this? they say unto him, Caesar’s.
17 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɛnneɛ momfa Kaesare deɛ mma no, na momfa Onyankopɔn deɛ mma Onyankopɔn!” Ne mmuaeɛ no maa wɔn ho dwirii wɔn.
And Jesus addressing them, said, Render the things which are Caesar’s, to Caesar; and what belongs to God, to God. And they marvelled at him.
18 Afei, Sadukifoɔ a wɔka sɛ owusɔreɛ nni hɔ no, baa ne nkyɛn bɛbisaa no sɛ,
And the Sadducees come to him, who say that there is no resurrection; and they put a question to him, saying,
19 “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, Mose yɛɛ mmara maa yɛn sɛ, sɛ ɔbarima bi anwo na ɔwu a, ne nuabarima mfa ne yere no kunabaa na ɔne no nwo mma mma owufoɔ no.
Master, Moses left it in writing for us, that if a man’s brother die, and leave a wife, and leave no children; that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed for his brother.
20 Anuanom baason bi tenaa ase. Deɛ ɔdi ɛkan no waree yere, na ɔne no anwo na ɔwuiɛ.
Now there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife, and dying left no issue:
21 Na deɛ ɔtɔ so mmienu no nso waree okunafoɔ no, na ɔno nso, ankyɛre na ɔwuiɛ a ɔne no anwo. Na deɛ ɔtɔ so mmiɛnsa no nso waree no a, ɔne no anwo na ɔwuiɛ.
and the second took her, and died, and neither did he leave issue; and the third in like manner.
22 Yei kɔɔ so kɔsii sɛ, anuanom yi nyinaa waree ɔbaa no, na ɔbaa no nso wuiɛ.
And the seven had her, and left no issue. Last of all died also the wife.
23 Deɛ yɛpɛ sɛ yɛhunu ne sɛ, owusɔreɛ no mu, sɛ wɔnya sɔre a, wɔn mu hwan na ɔbaa no bɛyɛ ne yere?”
In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife of them shall she be? for the seven had the very same wife.
24 Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Mo mfomsoɔ a moyɛ no firi nim a monnim Atwerɛsɛm no, ne Onyankopɔn tumi a ɔwɔ.
And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, from not knowing the scriptures, and the power of God?
25 Sɛ anuanom baason yi ne ɔbaa no sɔre firi awufoɔ mu a, wɔrenware; wɔbɛyɛ sɛ abɔfoɔ a wɔwɔ ɔsoro no.
For when they rise from the dead, they will neither marry, nor be given in marriage; but they are as the angels which are in heaven.
26 Afei, ɛfa awufoɔ owusɔreɛ no ho no nso, monnkanee Mose nwoma no mu asɛm a ɛfa Mose ne wira a na ɛrehyeɛ no ho da? Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ Mose sɛ, ‘Mene Abraham Onyankopɔn, Isak Onyankopɔn ne Yakob Onyankopɔn.’
But concerning the dead, that they do rise; have ye not read in the book of Moses, how God spake to him at the bush, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 Na Onyankopɔn reka akyerɛ Mose sɛ, ɛwom sɛ, saa nnipa yi awuwu mfeɛ pii a atwam no deɛ, nanso wɔte ase. Anyɛ saa a anka ɔrenka sɛ ɔyɛ ateasefoɔ Onyankopɔn, na ɔnyɛ awufoɔ Onyankopɔn. Moayɛ mfomsoɔ kɛseɛ.”
He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. Ye are therefore vastly erroneous.
28 Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no mu baako a ɔgyina hɔ retie no no hunuu sɛ, wabua wɔn sɛdeɛ ɛfata no, ɔbisaa no sɛ, “Mose mmaransɛm no mu deɛ ɛwɔ he na ɛkyɛn ne nyinaa?”
And one of the scribes coming, and hearing them questioning him, perceiving that he had answered them admirably, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Deɛ ɛkyɛn ne nyinaa ne deɛ ɛka sɛ, ‘Israel, tie! Awurade, yɛn Onyankopɔn, yɛ Awurade korɔ;
Then Jesus replied to him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear O Israel; the Lord thy God is one Lord:
30 na dɔ Awurade wo Onyankopɔn firi wʼakoma ne wo kra ne wʼadwene ne wʼahoɔden nyinaa mu,’ no.
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment.
31 Na deɛ ɛtɔ so mmienu no ne: ‘Dɔ wo yɔnko sɛ wo ho.’ Mmaransɛm bi nni hɔ a ɛkyɛn eyinom.”
And the second, like it, is this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: there is no greater commandment than these.
32 Atwerɛsɛm no ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no buaa no sɛ, “Owura, woaka nokorɛ sɛ, Onyankopɔn baako pɛ na ɔwɔ hɔ, na obi foforɔ nka ne ho,
And the scribe said unto him, Admirably, Master! thou hast spoken the very truth: for there is one God; and there is no other besides him:
33 na menim nso sɛ, sɛ mɛdɔ no afiri mʼakoma ne mʼadwene ne mʼahoɔden nyinaa mu, na mɛdɔ me yɔnko sɛ me ho no, sene afɔdeɛ biara a wɔbɔ.”
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength; and to love his neighbour as himself, is better than all burnt offerings, and sacrifices.
34 Yesu hunuu sɛ wabua asɛm no nyansa mu no, ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Wo ne Onyankopɔn Ahennie ntam ɛkwan nware.” Na saa asɛm yi akyi, obi antumi ammisa no asɛm biara bio.
And Jesus perceiving that he had answered as a man of intelligence, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man thenceforth presumed to question him.
35 Ɛberɛ bi a Yesu rekyerɛkyerɛ wɔ asɔredan mu no, ɔbisaa nnipa no sɛ, “Adɛn na Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no ka sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ Agyenkwa no yɛ Ɔhene Dawid ba?
And Jesus addressing them said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Messiah is the Son of David?
36 Ɛfiri sɛ Dawid ankasa nam Honhom Kronkron mu kaa sɛ, “‘Awurade ka kyerɛɛ me wura sɛ: “Tena me nifa so kɔsi sɛ mede wʼatamfoɔ bɛyɛ wo nan ntiasoɔ.”’
for David himself saith by the Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy enemies the foot-stool for thy feet.
37 Sɛ Dawid frɛ no ‘Awurade’ a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na watumi ayɛ ne ba?” Ɛkwan a ɔfaa so kasaeɛ no maa nnipa no de anigyeɛ tiee no.
David himself therefore calleth him Lord; and whence then is he his son? And a vast multitude heard him with delight.
38 Ɛberɛ bi a nnipakuo bi de anigyeɛ retie Yesu no, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Monhwɛ mo ho yie wɔ Atwerɛsɛm no akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ ho! Wɔhyɛ ntadeɛ akɛseɛ sɛ asikafoɔ na sɛ wɔnam badwa mu a, wɔpɛ sɛ obiara a ɔhyia wɔn no de obuo kyea wɔn.
And he spake to them in the course of his teaching, Beware of the scribes, who love to go about in trailing robes, and like salutations in the places of concourse,
39 Sɛ wɔkɔ hyiadan mu a, wɔtenatena mpanin adwa so, na sɛ wɔkɔ adidie ase a, wɔtena mpanin tenabea.
and the principal seats in the synagogues, and the first couch at suppers:
40 Wɔbɔ mpaeɛ hunu atentene kyerɛ nnipa sɛ wɔresom Onyankopɔn, nanso wɔsisi akunafoɔ. Yei enti wɔbɛnya asotwe a emu yɛ duru.”
who devour widows’ houses, and in pretence make long prayers: such shall receive greater damnation.
41 Ɛda bi a Yesu kɔɔ asɔredan mu no, ɔkɔtenaa afɔrebɔ adaka a ɛsi hɔ no anim hwɛɛ sɛdeɛ nkurɔfoɔ no de sika regu adaka no mu. Asikafoɔ no de sika a ɛdɔɔso guu mu.
And as Jesus was sitting opposite the treasury, he saw a multitude casting money into the treasury: and many who were rich cast in many pieces.
42 Ɔbaa kunafoɔ hiani bi nso baeɛ na ɔde sika nketewa mmienu bɛguu mu.
And one poor widow coming, cast in two mites, which is a farthing.
43 Ɔfrɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no baa ne nkyɛn ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Saa ɔbaa kunafoɔ hiani yi afɔdeɛ a ɔbɔeɛ no som bo sene afɔdeɛ akɛseakɛseɛ a asikafoɔ no bɛbɔeɛ no nyinaa.
And having called his disciples, he said unto them, I tell you truly, that this poor widow hath cast in more than all who have cast into the treasury:
44 Na wɔn nyinaa firi deɛ wɔanya ama abu wɔn so no mu na wɔyiyii bi de baeɛ, na ɔbaa yi deɛ, ɔfiri ne hia mu de deɛ ɔwɔ nyinaa na abɛgu mu no.”
for all they have cast in of their superfluities; but she from her indigence hath cast in all that she had, even her whole substance.
