Luka 13
1 Saa ɛberɛ no ara mu, nnipa bi bɛka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, Pilato akum Galileafoɔ bi a wɔrebɔ afɔdeɛ ama Onyankopɔn, de wɔn mogya fraa afɔrebɔ no.
There were present at that season some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ, “Mogye di sɛ saa Galileafoɔ no yɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ sene wɔn a aka no nyinaa enti na wɔkumm wɔn no?
And Jesus answering, said to them, Suppose ye that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 Dabi, sɛ mo nso moannu mo ho a, wɔbɛkunkum mo saa ara.
I tell you, No; but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Anaasɛ mosusu sɛ nnipa dunwɔtwe a Siloa abantenten no bu guu wɔn so, kumm wɔn no yɛ nnebɔneyɛfoɔ sene nnipa a na wɔte Yerusalem no?
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 Dabi, mo nso moannu mo ho a, mobɛwuwu saa ara.”
I tell you, No; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 Afei, Yesu buu wɔn bɛ yi sɛ, “Ɔbarima bi duaa borɔdɔma wɔ ne turo mu. Ɛda bi ɔkɔɔ turo no mu hɔ sɛ ɔrekɔte ɛso aba no bi nanso wannya bi.
He spoke also this parable: A certain [man] had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit on it, and found none.
7 Ɛno akyi, ɔfrɛɛ turo no sohwɛfoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Mfeɛ mmiɛnsa ni, ɛberɛ biara a mɛba sɛ merebɛte borɔdɔma no bi no, mennya bi. Adɛn enti na ɛresɛe kwa yi? Twa twene.’
Then said he to the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig-tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 “Turo no sohwɛfoɔ no srɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Me wura, ma ɛnsi hɔ afeɛ yi nso na mengugu aseɛ sumina nhwɛ
And he answering, said to him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung [it]:
9 sɛ ebia, ɛbɛso aba bi anaa, na sɛ antumi anso a, ɛnneɛ mɛtwa atwene.’”
And if it shall bear fruit, [well]: and if not, [then] after that thou shalt cut it down.
10 Homeda bi a Yesu rekyerɛkyerɛ wɔ hyiadan mu no,
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
11 na ɔbaa bi wɔ hɔ a honhommɔne mu yadeɛ bi akyere no mfeɛ dunwɔtwe ama ne mu akoa a ɔntumi ntene ne mu koraa.
And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise raise [herself].
12 Yesu hunuu no no, ɔfrɛɛ no firii nnipa no mu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Ɔbaa, wo ho nyɛ wo den.”
And when Jesus saw her, he called [her to him], and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thy infirmity.
13 Ɔde ne nsa guu ne so, na amonom hɔ ara ɔtumi tenee ne mu. Na ɔbaa no yii Onyankopɔn ayɛ.
And he laid [his] hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 Hyiadan no so panin a ɔhunuu ɔbaa no ayaresa no de abufuo kaa sɛ, “Nnansia na ɛsɛ sɛ mode yɛ adwuma a saa nna no mu na ɛsɛ sɛ moba ma wɔsa mo yadeɛ, na ɛnyɛ homeda.”
And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, and said to the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath.
15 Na Awurade buaa no sɛ, “Nyaatwomfoɔ! Mo mu hwan na ɔnsane ne nantwie anaa nʼafunumu na ɔnka no nkɔnom nsuo homeda?
The Lord then answered him, and said, [Thou] hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or [his] ass from the stall, and lead [him] away to watering?
16 Adɛn enti na Abraham aseni yi a ɔbonsam afa no dommum mfeɛ dunwɔtwe ni no, ɛnsɛ sɛ mesa no yadeɛ homeda?”
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, to be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?
17 Ɔkaa saa no, wɔn a na wɔne nʼadwene nhyia no nyinaa ani wuiɛ. Nnipa no nso a na wɔwɔ hyiadan no mu nyinaa ani gyee nʼanwanwadeɛ ahodoɔ a ɔyɛeɛ no nyinaa ho.
And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Afei, Yesu hyɛɛ aseɛ kyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔn Onyankopɔn Ahennie no ho asɛm, na ɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Onyankopɔn Ahennie no te sɛn? Na ɛdeɛn na memfa nto ho nkyerɛkyerɛ aseɛ?
Then said he, To what is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I resemble it?
19 Onyankopɔn Ahennie no te sɛ onyina aba ketewa bi a obi dua wɔ nʼafuo mu na ɛnyini yɛɛ dutan kɛseɛ ma ewiem nnomaa kɔnwono wɔn mpirebuo wɔ so.”
It is like a grain of mustard-seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden, and it grew, and became a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
20 Ɔbisaa bio sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn bio na memfa ntoto ho nkyerɛ aseɛ?
And again he said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 Ɛte sɛ mmɔreka bi a burodotofoɔ de fotɔ mmɔre ma ɛtu.”
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
22 Ɛberɛ a Yesu rekɔ Yerusalem no, ɔkyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ nkuro so ne nkuraa ase ansa na ɔreduru hɔ.
And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying towards Jerusalem.
23 Ne nkyerɛkyerɛ no mu no, obi bisaa no sɛ, “Awurade, nnipa kakra bi na wɔbɛgye wɔn nkwa anaa?” Ɔbuaa no sɛ,
Then said one to him, Lord, are there few that are saved? And he said to them,
24 “Mompere nhyɛne ɛpono teateaa no mu, ɛfiri sɛ, nnipa pii bɛpere sɛ wɔbɛwura mu, nanso wɔrentumi.
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 Sɛ ɛba sɛ efiewura no ato ɛpono no mu a, mobɛba abɛgyina akyire abɔ mu, aka sɛ, ‘Owura, yɛsrɛ wo, bue yɛn.’ “Na ɔno nso abisa mo sɛ, ‘Mofiri he? Mennim mo?’
When once the master of the house hath risen, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us; and he will answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 “Na mo nso moaka akyerɛ no sɛ, ‘Yɛne wo too nsa didii na wokyerɛkyerɛɛ wɔ yɛn mmorɔno so.’
Then ye will begin to say, We have eaten and drank in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 “Na efiewura no nso bɛbisa mo bio sɛ, ‘Mofiri he? Mennim mo. Momfiri mʼani so nkɔ, mo nnebɔneyɛfoɔ!’
But he will say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are: depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity.
28 “Na sɛ mohunu Abraham, Isak, Yakob ne nkɔmhyɛfoɔ no nyinaa sɛ wɔwɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu na montumi nkɔ hɔ bi a, mode mo nsa bɛgu mo ti atwa agyaadwoɔ.
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] excluded.
29 Nnipa firi apueeɛ ne atɔeɛ bɛhyia wɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu ato nsa adidi.
And they will come from the east, and [from] the west, and from the north, and [from] the south, and will sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 Na monkae sɛ akyikafoɔ bi wɔ hɔ a, wɔbɛdi ɛkan, na adikanfoɔ bi nso wɔ hɔ a, wɔbɛka akyi.”
And behold, there are last, who shall be first; and there are first who shall be last.
31 Saa ɛberɛ no ara mu Farisifoɔ bi baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Firi ha kɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, Herode rehwehwɛ wo akum wo.”
The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying to him, Go out, and depart hence; for Herod will kill thee.
32 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Monkɔka nkyerɛ sakraman no sɛ, ‘metu ahonhommɔne, na masa nyarewa ɛnnɛ ne ɔkyena na ne nnansa so no, mɛduru Yerusalem.’
And he said to them, Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and I do cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third [day] I shall be perfected.
33 Nanso, ɛsɛ sɛ menante ɛnnɛ ne ɔkyena ne nʼadekyeeɛ, na ɛtwa ara na ɛtwa sɛ odiyifoɔ bɛwu wɔ Yerusalem!
Nevertheless, I must walk to-day and to-morrow, and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish out of Jerusalem.
34 “Yerusalem, Yerusalem, wo a wokum adiyifoɔ na wosi wɔn a wɔsoma wɔn wo nkyɛn no aboɔ! Mpɛn ahe ni a mepɛɛ sɛ meboaboa wo mma ano sɛ akokɔbaatan boaboa ne mma ano ne ntaban ase, nanso moampene so.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how often would I have gathered thy children, as a hen [gathereth] her brood under [her] wings, and ye would not!
35 Na mo afie bɛdane afituo na morenhunu me kɔsi sɛ mobɛka sɛ, ‘Nhyira ne deɛ ɔnam Awurade din mu reba no!’”
Behold, your house is left to you desolate. And verily I say to you, ye shall not see me, until [the time shall] come when ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
