< Kwadwom 3 >
1 Mene ɔbarima a mahunu amane wɔ nʼabufuo abaa ano.
I, am the man, that hath seen affliction, by the rod of his indignation;
2 Wapam me afiri ne ho ama manante sum mu na ɛnyɛ hann mu;
Me, hath he driven out and brought into darkness, and not light;
3 Ampa ara wama nsa so atia me mpɛn bebree, ɛda mu nyinaa.
Surely, against me, doth he again and again, turn his hand all the day.
4 Wama me wedeɛ ne me nam anyini Na wabubu me nnompe.
He hath worn out my flesh and my skin, hath broken my bones;
5 Waka me ahyɛ mu, ɔde nwononwono ne ahokyere atwa me ho ahyia.
He hath built up against me, and carried round me, fortifications and a trench;
6 Wama matena esum mu sɛ wɔn a wɔawuwu dada no.
In dark places, hath he made me sit, like the dead of age-past times.
7 Wato ɔfasuo atwa me ho ahyia enti mentumi nnwane; wagu me nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn ama matɔ baha.
He hath walled up around me, that I cannot get out, hath weighted my fetter;
8 Mpo sɛ mefrɛ anaasɛ mebɔ mpaeɛ srɛ mmoa a ɔsi me mpaeɛbɔ ano.
Yea, when I make outcry and implore, he hath shut out my prayer;
9 Ɔde abotan asi me ɛkwan; wama mʼakwan ayɛ kɔntɔnkye.
He hath walled in my ways with hewn stone, my paths, hath he caused to wind back.
10 Te sɛ sisi a ɔda hɔ retwɛn, te sɛ gyata a watɛ,
A bear lying in wait, he is to me, a lion, in secret places;
11 ɔtwee me firi ɛkwan no mu dwerɛɛ me na ɔgyaa me a menni mmoa biara.
My ways, hath he turned aside, and hath torn me in pieces, hath made me desolate;
12 Ɔkuntunuu ne tadua mu na ɔde ne bɛmma kyerɛɛ me so.
He hath trodden his bow, and set me up, as a mark for the arrow.
13 Ɔde bɛmma a ɛfiri ne kotokuo mu hwiree mʼakoma mu.
He hath caused to enter my reins, the sons of his quiver;
14 Meyɛɛ asredeɛ maa me nkurɔfoɔ nyinaa; wɔto akutia nnwom de di me ho fɛ ɛda mu nyinaa.
I have become a derision to all my people, their song all the day;
15 Ɔde nhahan nwononwono ahyɛ me ma. Wama me bɔnwoma anom.
He hath sated me with bitter things, hath drenched me with wormwood.
16 Ɔde aboseaa abubu me se; na watiatia me so wɔ mfuturo mu.
And he hath crushed, with gravel-stones, my teeth, hath made me cower in ashes;
17 Wɔama asomdwoeɛ abɔ me; na mewerɛ afiri yiedie.
And thou hast thrust away from welfare, my soul, I have forgotten prosperity;
18 Enti mese, “Mʼanimuonyam asa, deɛ mede mʼani too so Awurade mu no nyinaa.”
And I said, Vanished is mine endurance, even mine expectation, from Yahweh.
19 Mekae mʼamanehunu wɔ mʼakyinkyini mu, nwononwono ne bɔnwoma mu.
Remember my humiliation and my fleeings, the wormwood and poison;
20 Mekae yie, na me kra aboto wɔ me mu.
Thou wilt, indeed remember, that, bowed down concerning myself, is my soul;
21 Nanso, mekae yei ne saa enti, mewɔ anidasoɔ.
This, will I bring back to my heart, therefore, will I hope.
22 Awurade dɔ kɛseɛ enti yɛnnsɛeɛ. Nʼayamhyehyeɛ nni hwammɔ.
The lovingkindnesses of Yahweh, verily they are not exhausted, Verily! not at an end, are his compassions:
23 Ɛyɛ foforɔ anɔpa biara; wo nokorɛdie yɛ kɛseɛ.
New things for the mornings! Abundant is thy faithfulness:
24 Meka kyerɛ me ho sɛ, “Awurade yɛ me kyɛfa, enti mɛtwɛn no.”
My portion, is Yahweh, saith my soul, For this cause, will I wait for him.
25 Awurade yɛ ma wɔn a wɔn anidasoɔ wɔ ne mu, onipa a ɔhwehwɛ noɔ no;
Good is Yahweh, to them who wait for him, to the soul that will seek him;
26 Ɛyɛ sɛ wɔyɛ komm de twɛn Awurade nkwagyeɛ.
Good it is—both to wait and to be silent, for the deliverance of Yahweh;
27 Ɛyɛ ma ɔbarima sɛ ɔsoa kɔnnua no wɔ ne mmeranteɛ ɛberɛ mu.
Good it is for a man, that he should bear the yoke in his youth.
28 Ma ɔntena ase komm, ɛfiri sɛ Awurade de ato no so.
Let him sit alone, and keep silence, because he took it upon himself:
29 Ma ɔmfa nʼanim nsie wɔ mfuturo mu, ebia anidasoɔ wɔ hɔ.
Let him put, in the dust, his mouth, peradventure, there is hope!
30 Ma ɔmfa nʼafono mma deɛ ɔpɛɛ sɛ ɔbɔ no na ɔnhyɛ no aniwuo.
Let him give, to him that smiteth him, his cheek, let him be sated with reproach.
31 Na Awurade nto nnipa ntwene koraa.
Surely My Lord, will not cast off, unto times age-abiding;
32 Ɛwom, ɔde awerɛhoɔ ba deɛ, nanso ɔbɛnya ayamhyehyeɛ. Ne dɔ kɛseɛ no to rentwa da.
Surely, though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion, according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses;
33 Ɔfiri amemenemfe mu de amanehunu anaa awerɛhoɔ brɛ nnipa mma.
Surely he hath not afflicted from his heart, nor caused sorrow to the sons of men.
34 Sɛ wɔde wɔn nan dwerɛ nneduafoɔ a wɔwɔ asase no so a,
To crush, under his feet, any of the prisoners of the earth;
35 sɛ wɔtiatia obi ahofadie so wɔ Ɔsorosoroni no anim a,
To turn aside the right of a man, before the face of the Most High;
36 anaa sɛ wɔbu obi ntɛnkyea a, Awurade nhunu saa nneɛma yi anaa?
To oppress a son of earth in his cause, My Lord, hath made no provision.
37 Hwan na ɔbɛtumi aka na wama aba mu wɔ ɛberɛ a ɛnyɛ Awurade na ɔhyɛeɛ?
Who was it that spake, and it was done, [when], My Lord, had not commanded?
38 Ɛnyɛ Ɔsorosoroni no anom na musuo ne nnepa firi anaa?
Out of the mouth of the Most High, Proceed there not misfortunes and blessing?
39 Adɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔteasefoɔ nwiinwii ɛberɛ a wɔatwe nʼaso wɔ ne bɔne ho?
Why should a living son of earth complain, [Let] a man [complain] because of his sins?
40 Momma yɛnhwehwɛ yɛn akwan mu na yɛnsɔ nhwɛ, na yɛnsane nkɔ Awurade nkyɛn.
Let us search out our ways, and examine them well, and let us return unto Yahweh;
41 Momma yɛmma yɛn akoma ne yɛn nsa so, nkyerɛ Onyankopɔn wɔ ɔsoro, na yɛnka sɛ:
Let us lift up our heart, to the opened palms, to the Mighty One in the heavens;
42 “Yɛayɛ bɔne, na yɛate atua na woamfa ankyɛ.
We, have trespassed and rebelled, Thou, hast not pardoned.
43 “Wode abufuo akata wo ho ataa yɛn; na wakunkum a woannya ahummɔborɔ.
Thou hast covered thyself with anger, and pursued us, hast slain—hast not spared;
44 Wode wo ho asie omununkum mu enti mpaeɛbɔ biara nnuru wo nkyɛn.
Thou hast screened thyself with the clouds, that prayer, should not pass through;
45 Woayɛ yɛn atantanneɛ ne wira wɔ amanaman no mu.
Offscouring and refuse, dost thou make us, in the midst of the peoples.
46 “Yɛn atamfoɔ nyinaa abae wɔn anom tɛtrɛɛ de tia yɛn.
With their mouth, opened wide over us, [stand] all our foes.
47 Yɛabrɛ ne ahunahuna ne akukuruhweaseɛ, mmubuiɛ ne ɔsɛeɛ.”
Terror and a pit, have befallen us, tumult and grievous injury;
48 Me nisuo sene sɛ asutene ɛfiri sɛ wɔasɛe me nkurɔfoɔ.
With streams of water, mine eye runneth down, over the grievous injury of the daughter of my people.
49 Me nisuo bɛsene ara, na ɛrennyae,
Mine eye, poureth itself out and ceaseth not, without relief;
50 kɔsi sɛ Awurade bɛhwɛ afiri ɔsoro, na wahu.
Until Yahweh out of the heavens shall look forth, and see,
51 Deɛ mehunu no ma me kra werɛ ho me kuropɔn no mu mmaa nyinaa enti.
Mine eye dealeth severely with my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Mʼatamfoɔ a menyɛɛ wɔn hwee pampam me sɛ anomaa.
They, have laid snares, for me as a bird, who are mine enemies without cause:
53 Wɔpɛɛ sɛ wɔtwa me nkwa so na wɔsi me aboɔ wɔ amena mu;
They have cut off, in the dungeon, my life, and have cast a stone upon me;
54 nsuo bu faa me tiri so, na ɛyɛɛ me sɛdeɛ wɔrewie me.
Waters, flowed over, my head, I said, I am cut off!
55 Mebɔɔ wo din, Ao Awurade firi amena no ase tɔnn.
I have called upon thy Name, O Yahweh, out of the dungeon below;
56 Wotee me sufrɛ: “Nsi wʼaso wɔ me gyeɛ sufrɛ ho.”
My voice, thou hast heard, —do not close thine ear to my respite, to mine outcry;
57 Wotwe bɛnee me ɛberɛ a mefrɛɛ woɔ no, na wokaa sɛ, “Nsuro.”
Thou drewest near, in the day I kept calling on thee, thou saidst, Do not fear!
58 Ao Awurade, wodii mʼasɛm maa me; na wogyee me nkwa.
Thou hast pleaded, O My Lord, the pleas of my soul, hast redeemed my life;
59 Woahunu bɔne a wɔayɛ me, Ao Awurade. Di mʼasɛm ma me!
Thou hast beheld, O Yahweh, my failure to get justice, Pronounce thou my sentence;
60 Woahunu wɔn aweretɔ no mu den, wɔn pɔ a wɔbɔ tia me no nyinaa.
Thou hast seen all their vindictiveness, all their plots against me.
61 Ao Awurade, woate wɔn sopa, wɔn pɔ a wɔbɔ tia me no nyinaa,
Thou hast heard their reproach, O Yahweh, all their plots against me;
62 deɛ mʼatamfoɔ ka no sɛ asomusɛm na wɔka no brɛoo de tia me da mu nyinaa.
The lips of mine assailants, and their mutterings, are against me, all the day;
63 Hwɛ wɔn! Sɛ wɔgyinagyina hɔ anaa sɛ wɔtete hɔ, wɔto akutia nnwom de di me ho fɛw.
On their downsitting and their uprising, do thou look, I, am their song.
64 Fa deɛ ɛfata tua wɔn so ka, Ao Awurade, deɛ wɔn nsa ayɛ enti.
Thou wilt render to them a recompense, O Yahweh, according to the work of their hands;
65 Pirim wɔn akoma, na ma wo nnome mmra wɔn so.
Thou wilt suffer them a veiling of heart, thy curse to them;
66 Fa abufuo taa wɔn, na sɛe wɔn firi Awurade sorosoro ase.
Thou wilt pursue in anger, and wilt destroy them, from under the heavens of Yahweh.
