< Yosua 6 >
1 Wɔtotoo Yeriko apono mu pampee, ɛfiri sɛ na wɔsuro Israelfoɔ no. Wɔamma obiara ɛkwan ma wankɔ mu anaa wamfiri adi.
Now Jericho was closely shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.
2 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Yosua sɛ, “Mede Yeriko, ɛhɔ ɔhene ne ɛhɔ akofoɔ nyinaa ahyɛ wo nsa.
And the LORD said to Joshua, See, I have given into thy hand Jericho, and its king, [and] the mighty men of valor.
3 Ma wʼasraadɔm no nyinaa mmɔ nsra ntwa kuropɔn no ho nhyia pɛnkorɔ ɛda biara nna nsia.
And ye shall compass the city, all [ye] men of war, [and] go round the city once: thus shalt thou do six days.
4 Asɔfoɔ baason a obiara kura nnwennini abɛn bɛdi Adaka no anim. Ɛda a ɛtɔ so nson no, ɛsɛ sɛ mobɔ nsra twa kuropɔn no ho mprɛnson, a asɔfoɔ no rehyɛn nnwennini mmɛn no.
And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5 Sɛ mote sɛ asɔfoɔ no hyɛn mmɛn no dendeenden ma ɛkyɛre a, nnipa no nyinaa mmɔ nnye so. Afei kuropɔn no afasuo nyinaa bɛdwiri agu fam, na nnipa no bɛtumi ato ahyɛ kuropɔn no so.”
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long [blast] with the ram's horn, [and] when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout: and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend every man straight before him.
6 Na Yosua frɛɛ asɔfoɔ no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Momfa Awurade Apam Adaka no na mo mu baason nni animu a obiara kura nnwennini abɛn.”
And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD.
7 Enti, ɔhyɛɛ nnipa no sɛ, “Mommɔ nsra mfa kuropɔn no ho na wɔn a wɔkurakura akodeɛ no bɛdi Awurade adaka no anim.”
And he said to the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD.
8 Yosua kasa kyerɛɛ nnipa no wieeɛ no, asɔfoɔ baason a wɔkura nnwennini mmɛn no hyɛɛ aseɛ bɔɔ nsra wɔ Awurade anim a wɔrehyɛn mmɛn no. Na asɔfoɔ a wɔso Awurade Apam Adaka no dii wɔn akyi.
And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them.
9 Wɔn a wɔkurakura akodeɛ no bi bɔɔ nsra wɔ asɔfoɔ no a wɔrehyɛn mmɛn no anim, na ebi nso bɔɔ nsra wɔ asɔfoɔ a wɔso Adaka no akyi wɔ ɛberɛ a asɔfoɔ no gu so rehyɛn mmɛn no.
And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rear-guard came after the ark, [the priests] going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
10 Yosua hyɛɛ sɛ, “Monnteam na monnkasa mpo. Mommma asɛm biara mfiri mo anom, kɔsi sɛ mɛka akyerɛ mo sɛ monteam na moateam.”
And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall [any] word proceed from your mouth, until the day I bid you shout, then shall ye shout.
11 Enti, ɛda no, wɔsoaa Awurade Adaka no twaa kuropɔn no ho prɛko. Na afei obiara sane kɔɔ atenaeɛ hɔ kɔhomee anadwo no.
So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about [it] once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.
12 Adeɛ kyeeɛ no, Yosua sɔree anɔpahema, na asɔfoɔ no soaa Awurade Adaka no bio.
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD.
13 Asɔfoɔ baason a wɔkurakura nnwennini mmɛn no bɔɔ nsra wɔ Awurade Adaka no anim wɔ ɛberɛ a wɔrehyɛn wɔn mmɛn. Wɔn a wɔkurakura akodeɛ no bi nso bɔɔ nsra wɔ asɔfoɔ a wɔkurakura mmɛn no anim ne Awurade Adaka no akyi. Saa ɛberɛ no nyinaa na asɔfoɔ no rehyɛne wɔn mmɛn no.
And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rear-guard came after the ark of the LORD, [the priests] going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
14 Ɛda a ɛtɔ so mmienu no, wɔbɔɔ nsra twaa kuropɔn no ho prɛko, na wɔsane kɔɔ atenaeɛ hɔ. Wɔkɔɔ so yɛɛ saa ara nnansia.
And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp. So they did six days.
15 Ɛda a ɛtɔ so nson no, Israelfoɔ no sɔree anɔpahema, bɔɔ nsra twaa kuropɔn no ho hyiaeɛ, sɛdeɛ wɔayɛ dada no. Nanso, saa ɛberɛ yi deɛ, wɔbɔɔ nsra twaa kuropɔn no ho mprɛnson.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.
16 Ne mprɛnson so no, ɛberɛ a asɔfoɔ no hyɛnee wɔn mmɛn dendeenden ma ɛkyɛreeɛ no, Yosua hyɛɛ ɔmanfoɔ no sɛ, “Monteateam! Na Awurade de kuropɔn no ama mo!
And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city.
17 Kuropɔn no ne emu nneɛma no, ɛsɛ sɛ mosɛe ne nyinaa sɛ afɔrebɔdeɛ ma Awurade. Odwamanfoɔ Rahab ne nʼafifoɔ nko na ɛsɛ sɛ wɔgyaa wɔn, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔbɔɔ akwansrafoɔ no ho ban.
And the city shall be accursed, [even] it, and all that [are] in it, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that [are] with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
18 Mommfa nneɛma a ɛsɛ sɛ wɔsɛe no no mu biara, sɛ mofa a, mo ankasa na wɔbɛsɛe mo korakora na mode ɔhaw bɛbrɛ Israel nyinaa.
And ye, in any wise keep [yourselves] from the accursed thing, lest ye make [yourselves] accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
19 Biribiara a wɔde dwetɛ, sikakɔkɔɔ, kɔbere mfrafraeɛ anaa dadeɛ ayɛ no yɛ kronkron ma Awurade, enti ɛsɛ sɛ wɔde ba nʼadekoradan mu.”
But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, [are] consecrated to the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.
20 Ɛberɛ a nnipa no tee mmɛn no nnyegyeeɛ no, wɔteateaam dendeenden sɛdeɛ wɔbɛtumi. Prɛko pɛ Yeriko afasuo no dwiri guu fam maa Israelfoɔ no firi afanan nyinaa to hyɛɛ kuropɔn no so na wɔfaeɛ.
So the people shouted when [the priests] blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21 Wɔsɛee biribiara a ɛwɔ kuropɔn no mu pasaa, mmarima ne mmaa, mmɔfra ne mpanin, anantwie, nnwan, mfunumu ne biribiara.
And they utterly destroyed all that [was] in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22 Afei, Yosua ka kyerɛɛ akwansrafoɔ baanu no sɛ, “Monni mo bɔhyɛ no so. Monkɔ odwamanfoɔ no fie na monkɔfa no ne nʼabusuafoɔ nyinaa mmra.”
But Joshua had said to the two men that spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye swore to her.
23 Mmeranteɛ no kɔfaa Rahab, nʼagya, ne maame, ne nuammarima ne abusuafoɔ a na wɔwɔ ne nkyɛn no nyinaa baeɛ. Wɔde abusuafoɔ no nyinaa kɔsiee baabi a ɔhaw biara nni hɔ na ɛbɛn Israelfoɔ atenaeɛ.
And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
24 Afei, Israelfoɔ no hyee kuropɔn no ne emu nneɛma nyinaa.
And they burnt the city with fire, and all that [was] in it: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.
25 Enti, Yosua amfa ne nsa anka odwamanfoɔ Rahab ne nʼabusuafoɔ a na wɔka ne ho wɔ efie no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔde akwansrafoɔ a Yosua somaa wɔn Yeriko no sieeɛ. Enti, ɔte Israelfoɔ mu bɛsi ɛnnɛ.
And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel [even] to this day; because she hid the messengers which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26 Saa ɛberɛ no, Yosua kaa saa nnome nsɛm yi: “Awurade nnome mmra obiara a ɔyɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛkyekyere Yeriko kuropɔn no bio. “Ɔde nʼabakan na ɛbɛhyɛ aseɛ, na ɔde nʼakumaa na ɛbɛsisi ano apono.”
And Joshua adjured [them] at that time, saying, Cursed [be] the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay its foundation in his first-born, and in his youngest [son] shall he set up the gates of it.
27 Na Awurade kaa Yosua ho na ne din hyetaa asase no so nyinaa.
So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was [noised] throughout all the country.
