< Yosua 24 >

1 Na Yosua frɛɛ Israelfoɔ nyinaa, wɔn mpanimfoɔ, ntuanofoɔ, atemmufoɔ ne adwumayɛfoɔ kɔɔ Sekem. Na wɔn nyinaa baa Onyankopɔn anim.
Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.
2 Yosua ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Sɛdeɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn seɛ nie: Mo tete agyanom, Tera a ɔyɛ Abraham agya ne Nahor tenaa Asubɔnten Eufrate agya nohoa na wɔsomm anyame foforɔ.
Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, 'Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods.
3 Nanso, mefaa mo agya Abraham firii asase a ɛda Eufrate agya hɔ de no baa Kanaan asase so. Mefaa ne ba Isak so maa nʼasefoɔ dɔɔso.
I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his descendants, and gave him Isaac.
4 Mede Yakob ne Esau maa Isak. Mede Seir bepɔman no maa Esau, ɛnna Yakob ne ne mma siane kɔɔ Misraim.
And I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau. And I gave to Esau Mount Seir, to possess it. And Jacob and his children went down into Egypt, and became there a great and numerous and mighty nation, and the Egyptians afflicted them.
5 “Na mesomaa Mose ne Aaron, na mede ɔyaredɔm a ɛyɛ hu baa Misraimfoɔ no so na akyire yi, meyii mo firii hɔ ma monyaa ahofadie.
And I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did in its midst; and afterward I brought you out

from Egypt. And you came to the sea, and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Red Sea.
7 Mosu frɛɛ Awurade no, mede esum bɛtoo mo ne Misraimfoɔ no ntam, memaa Ɛpo no bu faa wɔn so kataa wɔn so. Mo ankasa mode mo ani hunuu deɛ meyɛeɛ. Afei motenaa ɛserɛ so mfeɛ bebree.
When they cried out to Jehovah, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and you lived in the wilderness many days.
8 “Mede mo baa Amorifoɔ asase so wɔ Yordan apueeɛ fam. Wɔne mo koeɛ, nanso memaa modii wɔn so nkonim na mofaa wɔn asase.
I brought you into the land of the Amorites, that lived beyond the Jordan: and they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand. You possessed their land; and I destroyed them from before you.
9 Na Moabhene Sipor babarima Balak hyɛɛ aseɛ ko tiaa Israel. Ɔka kyerɛɛ Beor babarima Balaam sɛ ɔnnome mo.
Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel. He sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you;
10 Nanso, mantie no, na mmom mema ɔhyiraa mo, na megyee mo firii Balak nsam.
but I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he blessed you still. So I delivered you out of his hand.
Nanso, mema modii wɔn so nkonim.
You went over the Jordan, and came to Jericho. The men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hethite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I delivered them into your hand.
12 Afei, mesomaa nnowa dii mo anim ma wɔkɔpamoo Amorifoɔ ahemfo baanu no. Ɛnyɛ mo akofena anaa mo agyan na ɛma modii nkonim.
I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; not with your sword, nor with your bow.
13 Memaa mo asase a ɛnyɛ mo na modii ho dwuma, maa mo nkuropɔn a ɛnyɛ mo na mokyekyereeɛ, nkuropɔn a mote mu seesei no. Memaa mo bobe nturo ne ngo dua mfuo sɛ mobɛnya aduane, a mpo ɛnyɛ mo na moduaeɛ.
I gave you a land whereon you had not labored, and cities which you did not build, and you live in them. You eat of vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.'
14 “Enti, monni Awurade ni, na momfa mo akoma nyinaa nsom no. Monto ahoni a mo agyanom somee no wɔ ɛberɛ a na wɔte Asubɔnten Eufrate agya ne Misraim no nyinaa ngu korakora. Monsom Awurade nko ara.
Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve Jehovah.
15 Sɛ nso mompɛ sɛ mosom Awurade a, ɛnnɛ yi ara, monkyerɛ deɛ mobɛsom no. Anyame a mo agyanom somm wɔn wɔ ɛberɛ a na wɔwɔ Eufrate agya no na mopɛ? Anaa Amorifoɔ a mote wɔn asase so seesei no anyame? Na me ne me fie deɛ, yɛbɛsom Awurade.”
If it seems evil to you to serve Jehovah, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah."
16 Na ɔman no buaa sɛ, “Yɛrempa Awurade akyi nkɔsom anyame foforɔ.
The people answered, "Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;
Na yɛfaa ɛserɛ so wɔ yɛn atamfoɔ mu no, ɔbɔɔ yɛn ho ban.
for it is Jehovah our God who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way in which we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed.
18 Ɛyɛ Awurade na ɔpamoo Amorifoɔ ne aman foforɔ a na wɔte asase yi so no. Enti yɛn nso, yɛbɛsom Awurade, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔno nko ne yɛn Onyankopɔn.”
Jehovah drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve Jehovah; for he is our God."
Joshua said to the people, "You can't serve Jehovah; for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your disobedience nor your sins.
20 Sɛ mopa Awurade akyi na mosom anyame foforɔ a, ɔbɛdane atia mo, asɛe mo a ɛmfa ho sɛ ɔne mo adi no yie.”
If you forsake Jehovah, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm, and consume you, after he has done you good."
21 Nnipa no buaa Yosua sɛ, “Dabi, yɛasi yɛn adwene pi sɛ yɛbɛsom Awurade.”
The people said to Joshua, "No; but we will serve Jehovah."
22 Yosua nso kaa sɛ, “Mobɛbu saa gyinaeɛ yi ho akonta. Moaka sɛ mobɛsom Awurade.” Wɔbuaeɛ sɛ, “Aane, yɛbɛbu ho akonta.”
Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen you Jehovah, to serve him." They said, "We are witnesses."
23 Yosua kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ, monsɛe ahoni a mowɔ nyinaa na momfa mo akoma nto Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn so.”
"Now therefore put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to Jehovah, the God of Israel."
24 Nnipa no ka kyerɛɛ Yosua sɛ, “Yɛbɛsom Awurade, yɛn Onyankopɔn. Yɛbɛyɛ ɔsetie ama ɔno nko ara.”
The people said to Joshua, "We will serve Jehovah our God, and we will listen to his voice."
25 Enti, Yosua ne nnipa no yɛɛ apam saa ɛda no wɔ Sekem, de wɔn hyɛɛ nhyehyɛeɛ a emu yɛ den na ɛbɛtena hɔ daa wɔ wɔne Awurade ntam.
So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
26 Yosua twerɛɛ yeinom nyinaa guu Onyankopɔn Mmara Nwoma no mu. Ɔfaa ɔbotan kɛseɛ bi pire kɔtoo odum dua bi a ɛbɛn Awurade ntomadan no ase sɛ nkaeɛ adeɛ.
Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah.
27 Yosua ka kyerɛɛ nnipa no sɛ, “Saa ɔbotan yi ate biribiara a Awurade aka akyerɛ yɛn no. Sɛ moanni mo Onyankopɔn nokorɛ a, ɛbɛyɛ adansedeɛ atia mo.”
Joshua said to all the people, "Look, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke to us. It shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God."
28 Afei, Yosua gyaa nnipa no kwan maa obiara kɔɔ nʼagyapadeɛ so.
So Joshua sent the people away, every man to his inheritance.
29 Asɛm yi akyi, ankyɛre na Nun babarima Yosua, Awurade ɔsomfoɔ wuiɛ. Ɔdii mfirinhyia ɔha ne edu.
It happened after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Jehovah, died, being one hundred ten years old.
30 Wɔsiee no wɔ nʼagyapadeɛ asase so wɔ Timnat-Sera a ɛwɔ Efraim bepɔ asase so, wɔ Gaas Bepɔ atifi fam.
They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Serah, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash.
31 Na Israel somm Awurade wɔ Yosua, ne mpanimfoɔ a wɔanyinyini sene noɔ a wɔhunuu deɛ Awurade yɛ maa Israel wɔn nkwa nna nyinaa mu.
Israel served Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, and had known all the work of Jehovah, that he had worked for Israel.
32 Na Yosef nnompe a Israelfoɔ de firi Misraim baeɛ no, wɔsiee wɔ Sekem wɔ asasetam bi a Yakob tɔɔ no dwetɛ mpɔ ɔha firii Hamor mmammarima nkyɛn no so. Na saa asase yi wɔ Efraim ne Manase mmusuakuo a wɔyɛ Yosef asefoɔ asase kyɛfa a wɔde maa wɔn no so.
They buried the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred kesitahs. They became the inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.
33 Aaron babarima Eleasa nso wuiɛ. Wɔsiee no wɔ Efraim bepɔ asase no so wɔ Gibea kuro no a na wɔde ama ne babarima Pinehas no mu.
Eleazar the son of Aaron died. They buried him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given him in the hill country of Ephraim.
