Yosua 11
1 Ɛberɛ a Hasorhene Yabin tee asɛm a asi no, ɔtoo ahemfo a wɔdidi so yi nkra dendeenden: Madonhene Yobab, Simronhene ne Aksafhene;
And when Jabin king of Asor had heard these things, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Semeron, and to the king of Achsaph:
2 ahemfo a wɔwɔ atifi fam mmepɔ so, ahemfo a wɔwɔ Yordan Bɔnhwa a ɛda Galilea anafoɔ fam; ahemfo a wɔwɔ atɔeɛ fam nkokoɔ so; ahemfo a wɔwɔ Nafɔt Dor atɔeɛ fam;
And to the kings of the north, that dwelt in the mountains and in the plains over against the south side of Ceneroth, and in the levels and the countries of Dor by the sea side:
3 Kanaan ahemfo a wɔwɔ apueeɛ ne atɔeɛ; Amorifoɔ ahemfo ne Hetifoɔ ahemfo ne Perisifoɔ ahemfo ne ahemfo a wɔwɔ Yebusifoɔ mmepɔ asase so; ne Hewifoɔ a wɔwɔ nkuro a ɛwɔ Hermon bepɔ ase wɔ Mispa asase so.
To the Chanaanites also on the ease and on the west, and the Amorrhite, and the Hethite, and the Pherezite, and the Jebusite in the mountains: to the Hevite also who dwelt at the foot of Hermon in the land of Maspha.
4 Saa ahemfo yi nyinaa gyee pene, boaboaa wɔn akodɔm ano sɛ wɔbɛka abɔ mu ako atia Israel. Wɔn akodɔm no nyinaa, apɔnkɔ dodoɔ ne nteaseɛnam yɛɛ asase no so ma te sɛ mpoano anwea.
And they all came out with their troops, a people exceeding numerous as the sand that is on the sea shore, their horses also and chariots a very great multitude,
5 Wɔbɔɔ wɔn atenaeɛ wɔ asuo a ɛbɛn Merom ho sɛ wɔrebɛko atia Israel.
And all these kings assembled together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Yosua sɛ, “Nsuro wɔn. Ɔkyena sɛsɛɛ berɛ mu na wɔn nyinaa atotɔ. Bubu wɔn apɔnkɔ no nan na hye wɔn nteaseɛnam no.”
And the Lord said to Josue: Fear them not: for tomorrow at this same hour I will deliver all these to be slain in the sight of Israel: thou shalt hamstring their horses, and thou shalt burn their chariots with fire.
7 Na Yosua ne nʼakodɔm kɔɔ Merom asuo no ho kɔto hyɛɛ wɔn so mpofirim.
And Josue came, and all the army with him, against them to the waters of Merom on a sudden, and fell upon them.
8 Na Awurade ma wɔdii wɔn atamfoɔ no so nkonim. Israelfoɔ no taa wɔn ara kɔsii Sidon Kɛseɛ ne Misrefot-Maim ho ne Mispa Bɔnhwa no mu wɔ apueeɛ fam, kɔsii sɛ atamfoɔ no akofoɔ baako mpo anka.
And the Lord delivered them into the hands of Israel. And they defeated them, and chased them as far as the great Sidon, and the waters of Maserophot, and the field of Masphe, which is on the east side thereof. He slew them all, so as to leave no remains of them:
9 Ɛnna Yosua bubuu apɔnkɔ no nan, sane hyee nteaseɛnam no sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ wɔn no.
And he did as the Lord had commanded him, he hamstringed their horses and burned their chariots.
10 Yosua sane nʼakyi bɛgyee Hasor kuro no faeɛ, kumm ɛhɔ ɔhene. (Na anka Hasor yɛ saa ahemman nkabom no nyinaa kuropɔn.)
And presently turning back he took Asor: and slew the king thereof with the sword. Now Asor of old was the head of all these kingdoms.
11 Israelfoɔ no sɛee biribiara a nkwa wɔ mu wɔ kuropɔn no so. Wɔannya ɔkra fua mpo. Na Yosua too Hasor kuropɔn no mu ogya.
And he cut off all the souls that abode there: he left not in it any remains, but utterly destroyed all, and burned the city itself with fire.
12 Yosua kunkumm ahemfo a aka no nyinaa ne wɔn manfoɔ sɛee wɔn pasaa sɛdeɛ Mose, Awurade ɔsomfoɔ, hyɛɛ no pɛpɛɛpɛ.
And he took and put to the sword and destroyed all the cities round about, and their kings, as Moses the servant of God had commanded him.
13 Mmom, Yosua anhye kuropɔn biara a ɛsi esie so gye Hasor.
Except the cities that were on hills and high places, the rest Israel burned: only Asor that was very strong he consumed with fire.
14 Na Israelfoɔ no faa asadeɛ ne anantwie a wɔwɔ nkuro mmubuiɛ no mu nanso wɔkumm emu nnipa no nyinaa.
And the children of Israel divided among themselves all the spoil of these cities and the cattle, killing all the men.
15 Sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ ne ɔsomfoɔ Mose no, saa ara na Mose nso hyɛɛ Yosua. Na Yosua nso yɛɛ sɛdeɛ wɔka kyerɛɛ no no, dii deɛ Awurade hyɛɛ Mose no nyinaa so.
As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Josue, and he accomplished all: he left not one thing undone of all the commandments which the Lord had commanded Moses.
16 Enti, Yosua ko gyee ɔmantam no nyinaa a ɛyɛ mmepɔ ɔman, Negeb, Gosen asase, atɔeɛ fam nkokoɔ, Yordan Bɔnhwa, Israel mmepɔ ne nsase tata faeɛ.
So Josue took all the country of the hills, and of the south, and the land of Gosen, and the plains and the west country, and the mountain of Israel, and the plains thereof:
17 Enti afei, Israel nsase bɛyɛɛ deɛ ɛfiri Halak bepɔ a ɛkɔsi Seir wɔ atifi fam toaso kɔ Baal-Gad a ɛwɔ Bepɔ Hermon ase wɔ Lebanon bɔnhwa mu. Yosua kunkumm nsase no so ahemfo nyinaa,
And part of the mountain that goeth up to Seir as far as Baalgad, by the plain of Libanus under mount Hermon: all their kings he took, smote and slew.
18 wɔ mmerɛ tenten akokoakoko mu.
Josue made war a long time against these kings.
19 Kuro biara nni ɔmantam yi mu a ɔne Israelfoɔ yɛɛ asomdwoeɛ apam gye sɛ Hewifoɔ a wɔte Gibeon no. Wɔdii wɔn a aka no nyinaa so nkonim.
There was hot a city that delivered itself to the children of Israel, except the Hevite, who dwelt in Gabaon: for he took all by fight.
20 Awurade pirim wɔn akoma ma wɔko tiaa Israelfoɔ wɔ ɛberɛ a anka ɛsɛ sɛ wɔ ne wɔn yɛ asomdwoeɛ nhyehyɛeɛ. Enti wɔsɛee wɔn pasaa a ahummɔborɔ biara nni mu sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ Mose no.
For it was the sentence of the Lord, that their hearts should be hardened, and they should fight against Israel, and fall, and should not deserve any clemency, and should be destroyed as the Lord had commanded Moses.
21 Saa ɛberɛ no mu, Yosua tɔree Anak asefoɔ a na wɔte bepɔ nkuro Hebron, Debir, Anab ne bepɔman Yuda ne Israel nyinaa ase. Ɔkumm wɔn nyinaa na ɔsɛee wɔn nkuro no pasaa.
At that time Josue came and cut off the Enacims from the mountains, from Hebron, and Dabir, and Anab, and from all the mountain of Juda and Israel, and destroyed their cities.
22 Wɔn mu fua koraa anka wɔ Israel asase so, mmom, wɔn mu bi kaa Gasa, Gat ne Asdod.
He left not any of the stock of the Enacims, in the land of the children of Israel: except the cities of Gaza, and Geth, and Azotus, in which alone they were left.
23 Enti, Yosua faa asase no nyinaa sɛdeɛ Awurade hyɛɛ Mose no. Ɔde maa Israelfoɔ sɛ wɔn agyapadeɛ sononko kyekyɛɛ mu maa mmusuakuo no. Enti awieeɛ no asase no so dwoeɛ.
So Josue took all the land, as the Lord spoke to Moses, and delivered it in possession to the children of Israel, according to their divisions and tribes. And the land rested from wars.
