< Yosua 1 >
1 Mose a ɔyɛ Awurade ɔsomfoɔ wuo akyi no, Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Nun babarima Yosua, Mose ɔboafoɔ no sɛ,
Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass, that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses's minister, saying,
2 “Afei a me ɔsomfoɔ Mose awuo no, ɛsɛ sɛ wodi me nkurɔfoɔ no anim kɔtwa Asubɔnten Yordan kɔ asase a mede rema wɔn no so.
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, [even] to the children of Israel.
3 Mehyɛ wo bɔ a mehyɛɛ Mose no sɛ, baabiara a wode wo nan bɛsi no bɛyɛ asase a mede ama woɔ.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given to you, as I said to Moses.
4 Ɛfiri Negeb ɛserɛ a ɛwɔ anafoɔ fam kɔsi Lebanon mmepɔ a ɛwɔ atifi fam, ɛfiri Asubɔnten Eufrate a ɛwɔ apueeɛ fam kɔsi Ɛpo Kɛseɛ a ɛwɔ atɔeɛ fam, ne Hetifoɔ asase nyinaa.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea towards the setting of the sun, shall be your border.
5 Obiara rentumi nsɔre ntia wo wɔ wo nkwa nna nyinaa. Sɛdeɛ na meka Mose ho no, saa ara na mɛka wo ho. Merennya wo na merempa wʼakyi da.
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, [so] I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Wo ho nyɛ den na yɛ nnam, ɛfiri sɛ, wobɛdi me nkurɔfoɔ yi anim akɔfa asase a mekaa ntam sɛ mede bɛma wɔn agyanom no nyinaa.
Be strong and of a good courage: for to this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 “Wo ho nyɛ den na yɛ nnam. Di mmara a Mose de maa wo no nyinaa so. Mfiri ho, na wobɛdi nkonim wɔ biribiara a woyɛ mu.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it [to] the right hand or [to] the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 Sua saa Mmara Nwoma yi ɛberɛ biara. Dwene ho awia ne anadwo sɛdeɛ ɛbɛma woayɛ biribiara a wɔatwerɛ wɔ mu no. Saa na ɛbɛma asi wo yie.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate in it day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all [that is] written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Mehyɛ wo sɛ, yɛ den na yɛ nnam! Nsuro na mma wʼaba mu mmu, na Awurade wo Onyankopɔn ka wo ho baabiara a wobɛkɔ.”
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10 Afei, Yosua hyɛɛ Israel ntuanofoɔ no sɛ,
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 “Momfa atenaeɛ no mu na monka nkyerɛ nnipa no ma wɔnsiesie wɔn nnuane. Nnansa akyi no, mobɛtwa Asubɔnten Yordan na moakɔfa asase a Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, de ama mo no.”
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you provisions; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
12 Afei Yosua frɛɛ Ruben ne Gad mmusuakuo ne Manase abusua no fa nyinaa. Ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ,
And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spoke Joshua, saying,
13 “Monkae ahyɛdeɛ a Awurade ɔsomfoɔ Mose maa mo no: ‘Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn, rema mo ahomeɛ na ɔde asase yi ama mo.’
Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14 Mo yerenom, mo mma ne mo anantwie bɛtena Yordan apueeɛ fam ha. Nanso, mo akofoɔ a wɔasiesie wɔn ho ama ɔkɔ no bɛdi mmusuakuo a aka no anim atware Yordan, na wɔaboa ma wɔafa asase no. Mo ne wɔn ntena hɔ
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;
15 nkɔsi sɛ Awurade bɛma wɔn ahomeɛ sɛdeɛ wayɛ ama mo no. Na wɔn nso bɛdi asase a Awurade, mo Onyankopɔn de rema wɔn no so. Ɛno ansa na mode Yordan apueeɛ fam ha asase a Mose a ɔyɛ Awurade ɔsomfoɔ de maa mo no, bɛyɛ mo atenaeɛ.”
Until the LORD shall have given your brethren rest, as [he hath given] you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return to the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD'S servant gave you on this side of Jordan towards the sun-rising.
16 Wɔbuaa Yosua sɛ, “Deɛ woahyɛ yɛn sɛ yɛnyɛ nyinaa yɛbɛyɛ, na baabiara a wobɛsoma yɛn nso, yɛbɛkɔ.
And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us, we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17 Yɛbɛyɛ ɔsetie ama wo sɛdeɛ yɛyɛ maa Mose no. Awurade wo Onyankopɔn, nni wʼakyi sɛdeɛ ɔdii Mose akyi no.
According as we hearkened to Moses in all things, so will we hearken to thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Obiara a ɔbɛte wʼasɛm so atua na wanni wʼahyɛdeɛ mu biara so no, wɔnkum no. Enti, hyɛ wo ho den na ma wo bo nyɛ duru!”
Every one that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken to thy words in all that thou commandest him, shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
