< Yohane 9 >
1 Yesu nam no, ɔhunuu aberanteɛ bi a wɔwoo no onifirani,
And as [Jesus] passed by, he saw a man who was blind from [his] birth.
2 Nʼasuafoɔ no bisaa no sɛ, “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, saa onifirani yi awofoɔ bɔne a wɔyɛeɛ anaa ɔno ankasa bɔne enti na ama nʼani afira yi?”
And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Yesu buaa sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ nʼawofoɔ anaa nʼankasa bɔne enti na nʼani afira. Na mmom, nʼani afira sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a Onyankopɔn tumi bɛyɛ ne ho adwuma.
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 Esiane sɛ adesaeɛ nkyɛre ba no enti, ɛsɛ sɛ yɛyɛ deɛ ɔsomaa me no adwuma a ɔde ahyɛ yɛn nsa no. Sɛ adeɛ sa a, obiara ntumi nyɛ adwuma.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work.
5 Ɛberɛ a mewɔ ewiase yi deɛ, mene ewiase hann no.”
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 Ɔkaa saa no, ɔtee ntasuo guu fam de fotɔɔ dɔteɛ na ɔde dɔteɛ no sraa onifirani no ani so.
When he had thus spoken, he spit on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 Na ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Kɔ ɔtadeɛ Siloa no mu, na kɔhohoro wʼanim.” Onifirani yi kɔ kɔhohoroo nʼanim san baeɛ a, afei deɛ ohunu adeɛ.
And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 Onifirani no afipamfoɔ a wɔhunuu no sɛ ɔte ɛkwan ho srɛsrɛ adeɛ no hunuu no no, wɔbisabisaa wɔn ho wɔn ho sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ aberanteɛ a na ɔsrɛsrɛ adeɛ no ni?”
The neighbors therefore, and they who before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Ebinom kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ ɔno,” na afoforɔ nso kaa sɛ, “Dabi, ɛnyɛ ɔno, na mmom, sɛ na ɔsɛ no.” Aberanteɛ yi kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ me.”
Some said, This is he: others [said], He is like him: [but] he said, I am [he].
10 Nnipa no bisaa no sɛ, “Ɛyɛɛ dɛn na afei wohunu adeɛ yi?”
Therefore they said to him, How were thy eyes opened?
11 Ɔbuaa wɔn sɛ, “Ɔbarima bi a wɔfrɛ no Yesu no fotɔɔ dɔteɛ na ɔde sraa mʼani so na ɔka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, ‘Kɔ ɔtadeɛ Siloa mu na kɔhohoro wʼanim’. Enti, mekɔeɛ. Mehohoroo mʼanim wieeɛ pɛ na mehunuu adeɛ.”
He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus, made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
12 Wɔsane bisaa no bio sɛ, “Saa Yesu no wɔ he?” Ɔbuaa wɔn sɛ, “Mennim.”
Then said they to him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
13 Wɔde aberanteɛ a na nʼani afira no brɛɛ Farisifoɔ no.
They brought to the Pharisees him that before was blind.
14 Ɛda a Yesu saa onifirani no yadeɛ no, na ɛyɛ homeda.
And it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Farisifoɔ no nso bisaa aberanteɛ no sɛdeɛ ɛyɛeɛ a afei deɛ ɔhunuu adeɛ. Aberanteɛ no ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛdeɛ Yesu de dɔteɛ a wɔafɔtɔ sraa nʼani so na ɔkɔhohoroeɛ na ɔhunuu adeɛ no.
Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Farisifoɔ no mu bi kaa sɛ, “Onipa a ɔyɛɛ saa adeɛ yi mfiri Onyankopɔn hɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔnni homeda mmara no so.” Afoforɔ nso kaa sɛ, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ a ɔte sɛɛ yi bɛtumi ayɛ saa anwanwadwuma yi?” Saa akyinnyeɛ yi maa mpaapaemu baa wɔn mu.
Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
17 Afei Farisifoɔ yi sane bisaa aberanteɛ no sɛ, “Wo na wose ɔma wohunuu adeɛ, ɛdeɛn asɛm na woka fa ne ho?” Aberanteɛ yi buaa sɛ, “Megye di sɛ ɔyɛ odiyifoɔ a ɔfiri Onyankopɔn nkyɛn.”
They say to the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thy eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
18 Yudafoɔ no annye anni ara da sɛ, na saa aberanteɛ no yɛ onifirani a afei deɛ ɔhunu adeɛ, kɔsi sɛ wɔsoma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ nʼawofoɔ baeɛ
But the Jews did not believe concerning him that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 ma wɔbisaa wɔn sɛ, “Mo ba ni anaa? Mokyerɛ sɛ mowoo no no, na ɔyɛ onifirani anaa? Ɛyɛɛ dɛn na afei deɛ ɔhunu adeɛ yi?”
And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
20 Nʼawofoɔ no buaa sɛ, “Yɛgye tom sɛ ɔyɛ yɛn ba, na yɛwoo no no nso, na ɔyɛ onifirani.
His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 Nanso yɛnnim deɛ enti a afei deɛ ɔhunu adeɛ yi. Saa ara nso na yɛnnim onipa ko a ɔma ɔhunuu adeɛ no. Ɔno ara ni, nʼani nso afi a ɔbɛtumi akasa ama ne ho enti mommisa no.”
But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he will speak for himself.
22 Deɛ ɛmaa nʼawofoɔ no kaa saa ne sɛ, na wɔsuro Yudafoɔ mpanimfoɔ no a wɔaka sɛ, obiara a ɔbɛka sɛ Yesu ne Agyenkwa no no, wɔbɛpam no afiri asɔredan no mu hɔ no.
These [words] his parents spoke, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man confessed that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Yei enti na nʼawofoɔ no kaa sɛ, “Nʼani afi a ɔbɛtumi akasa ama ne ho enti mommisa no” no.
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
24 Wɔsane frɛɛ aberanteɛ a na ɔyɛ onifirani no ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Hyɛ bɔ wɔ Onyankopɔn din mu sɛ, asɛm a yɛrebɛbisa wo yi wobɛdi nokorɛ. Yɛnim sɛ saa ɔbarima yi yɛ ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ.”
Then again they called the man that was blind, and said to him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
He answered and said, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.
26 Wɔbisaa no bio sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na ɔyɛɛ wo ma wohunuu adeɛ?”
Then they said to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thy eyes?
27 Aberanteɛ no de abufuo buaa wɔn sɛ, “Maka nokorɛ no akyerɛ mo, nanso moantie. Ɛdeɛn bio na mopɛ sɛ meka kyerɛ mo? Anaasɛ mo nso mopɛ sɛ mobɛyɛ nʼasuafoɔ?”
He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: Why would ye hear [it] again? will ye also be his disciples?
28 Mpanimfoɔ no yeyaa no sane kaa sɛ, “Wo mmom na woyɛ saa akoa no suani; na yɛn deɛ, yɛyɛ Mose asuafoɔ.
Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.
29 Yɛnim pefee sɛ Onyankopɔn kasa kyerɛɛ Mose, nanso saa Yesu yi deɛ, faako a ɔfiri mpo, yɛnnim!”
We know that God spoke to Moses: [as for] this [man], we know not whence he is.
30 Aberanteɛ yi ka kyerɛɛ mpanimfoɔ no sɛ, “Ɛyɛ me nwanwa yie sɛ obi a ɔtumi ma onifirani hunu adeɛ no, motumi ka sɛ monnim faako a ɔfiri.
The man answered and said to them, Why, herein is a marvelous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and [yet] he hath opened my eyes.
31 Yɛnim sɛ Onyankopɔn ntie nnebɔneyɛfoɔ asɛm; na mmom ɔtie nnipa a wɔdi no ni na wɔyɛ nʼapɛdeɛ no.
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man is a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32 Ɛfiri adebɔ ahyɛaseɛ yɛntee da sɛ obi ama onifirani ahunu adeɛ da; (aiōn )
Since the world began hath it not been heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind. (aiōn )
33 sɛ ɔbarima yi mfiri Onyankopɔn hɔ a, anka ɔrentumi nyɛ anwanwadeɛ a ɛte sei.”
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.
34 Mpanimfoɔ no nso de abufuo buaa no sɛ, “Ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ te sɛ wo na wopɛ sɛ wokyerɛkyerɛ yɛn?” Wɔsunsum no firii asɔredan no mu hɔ.
They answered and said to him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? and they cast him out.
35 Ɛberɛ a Yesu tee sɛ wɔsunsum aberanteɛ no firii asɔredan no mu hɔ no no, ɔhwehwɛɛ no bisaa no sɛ, “Wogye Onipa Ba no di anaa?”
Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he said to him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
36 Aberanteɛ no buaa no sɛ, “Me wura, kyerɛ me saa Onipa Ba no sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a mɛgye no adi!”
He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?
37 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Woahunu no dada; ɔno na ɔne wo rekasa yi.”
And Jesus said to him, thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 Aberanteɛ no de anigyeɛ kaa sɛ, “Awurade, megye medi.” Afei, ɔkotoo Yesu.
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.
39 Yesu kaa sɛ, “Mebaa ewiase ha sɛ merebɛbu atɛn, na mama wɔn a wɔyɛ anifirafoɔ no ahunu adeɛ, na makyerɛ wɔn a wɔgye di sɛ wɔhunu adeɛ no sɛ, wɔyɛ anifirafoɔ.”
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they who see not, may see; and that they who see, may be made blind.
40 Farisifoɔ a na wɔgyinagyina hɔ no bisaa no sɛ, “Wopɛ sɛ wokyerɛ sɛ yɛyɛ anifirafoɔ anaa?”
And [some] of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, and said to him, Are we blind also?
41 Yesu buaa wɔn sɛ. “Sɛ mogye tom sɛ moyɛ anifirafoɔ a, ɛnneɛ anka monni deɛ maka no ho fɔ. Esiane sɛ mogye to mu sɛ mohunu adeɛ enti motena afɔbuo mu.”
Jesus said to them, If ye were blind, ye would have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
