< Yohane 13 >

1 Adeɛ rebɛkye ama Twam Afahyɛ no aduru no, Yesu hunuu sɛ afei, berɛ aso sɛ ɔfiri ewiase kɔ nʼAgya nkyɛn. Yesu yɛ obi a na ɔdɔ nʼakyidifoɔ, na ɔdɔɔ wɔn kɔsii sɛ ɔwuiɛ.
Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 Ɛberɛ a na Yesu ne nʼasuafoɔ te adidiiɛ no, ɔbonsam kɔhyɛɛ Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ Simon ba no mu sɛ ɔnyi Yesu mma.
By the time supper ended, the devil had put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Jesus.
3 Yesu nim sɛ nʼAgya de tumi nyinaa ahyɛ ne nsa, na ɔfiri Onyankopɔn nkyɛn na ɔbaeɛ, na ɔresane akɔ ne nkyɛn.
Jesus knew that the Father had put all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,
4 Yesu sɔre firii didipono no ho, yii nʼatadeɛ ngugusoɔ guu hɔ, de mpepaho twaa nʼasene.
so he rose from supper, laid aside his outer garments, took a towel, and wrapped it around his waist.
5 Ɔhwiee nsuo guu dwaresɛn bi mu na ɔhyɛɛ aseɛ hohoroo asuafoɔ no nan ase de mpepaho no pepaeɛ.
After that, he put water into the washbasin and began to wash his disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around his waist.
6 Ɛberɛ a Yesu duruu Simon Petro so no, Petro bisaa no sɛ. “Awurade, worebɛhohoro me nan ase anaa?”
When he came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are yoʋ going to wash my feet?”
7 Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Deɛ mereyɛ yi, worente aseɛ seesei, nanso akyire no wobɛte aseɛ.”
Jesus answered him, “What I am doing yoʋ do not now understand, but afterward yoʋ will understand.”
8 Petro ampene asɛm a ɔkaeɛ no so kaa sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ wo na ɛsɛ sɛ wohohoro me nan ase.” Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Sɛ manhohoro wo nan ase a, na wonka me ho.” (aiōn g165)
Peter said to him, “Yoʋ shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash yoʋ, yoʋ have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Petro kaa sɛ, “Awurade, ɛnneɛ na ɛnyɛ me nan ase nko, na mmom, me nsa ho ne me tirim nso ka ho.”
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.”
10 Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Obiara a wadware no, adwareɛ ho nhia no bio gye ne nan ase nko na ɛsɛ sɛ ɔhohoro, ne onipadua no deɛ, efi biara nni ho. Mo nyinaa ho ate, gye mo mu baako pɛ.”
Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed has no need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not all of you.”
11 Na Yesu nim onipa ko a ɔrebɛyi no ama no, ɛno enti na ɔkaa sɛ ɛnyɛ wɔn nyinaa na wɔn ho ate no.
(For he knew who would betray him; that is why he said, “You are not all clean.”)
12 Yesu hohoroo wɔn nan ase wieeɛ no, ɔfaa nʼatadeɛ ngugusoɔ no hyɛeɛ, sane kɔtenaa didipono no ho. Afei, ɔbisaa nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ, “Mote deɛ mayɛ yi ase anaa?
When Jesus had washed their feet and collected his garments, he reclined again at the table and said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you?
13 Mofrɛ me ‘Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ’ ne ‘Awurade’ a, modi me frɛ; ɛfiri sɛ, ɛno ne deɛ meyɛ.
You call me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am.
14 Sɛ me a meyɛ mo Awurade ne Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ no mpo ahohoro mo nan ase a, ɛnneɛ, na ɛsɛ sɛ mo nso mohohoro hohoro mo ho mo ho nan ase.
So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 Mayɛ yei de ayɛ nhwɛsoɔ ama mo sɛdeɛ mo nso mobɛyɛ saa ara.
For I have given you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.
16 Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ mo sɛ, akoa nsene ne wura; saa ara nso na ɔsomafoɔ nsene deɛ ɔsomaa no no.
Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 Afei a moate deɛ meyɛeɛ no ase yi, sɛ moyɛ saa bi a, mobɛnya nhyira.
Now that you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.
18 “Ɛnyɛ mo nyinaa na mereka saa asɛm yi akyerɛ mo, menim wɔn a mayi wɔn. Nanso, ɛsɛ sɛ Atwerɛsɛm a ɛka sɛ, ‘Onipa a ɔne me to nsa didi no, bɛyi me ama’ no ba mu.
I am not speaking about all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But this Scripture must be fulfilled: ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
19 “Mereka yeinom nyinaa akyerɛ mo ansa na aba mu sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, mobɛgye adi.
I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe that I am he.
20 Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ mo sɛ, obiara a ɔbɛgye deɛ masoma no no, ɔgye me nso, na obiara a ɔgye me no nso gye deɛ ɔsomaa me no.”
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.”
21 Yesu kaa yeinom nyinaa wieeɛ no, ne ho yeraa no ma ɔpaee mu kaa sɛ, “Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ mo, mo mu baako bɛyi me ama!”
After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit and declared, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
22 Asuafoɔ no de ahodwirie hwehwɛhwehwɛɛ wɔn ho wɔn ho anim pɛɛ sɛ wɔhunu deɛ ɔde no no.
So the disciples began looking at one another, perplexed as to whom he was speaking about.
23 Na asuafoɔ no mu baako a Yesu pɛ nʼasɛm no te ne nkyɛn pɛɛ.
One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining on Jesus' chest.
24 Simon Petro buu nʼani sɛ, “Bisa no na ɔnkyerɛ wo onipa ko a ɔreka ne ho asɛm no.”
So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus whom he was talking about.
25 Ɛno enti saa osuani no twe bɛn Yesu bisaa no sɛ, “Awurade, ɛyɛ hwan?”
Leaning back on Jesus' chest, he said to him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 Yesu buaa sɛ, “Deɛ mede burodo bɛbɔ mu ama no no, ɔno na ɔbɛyi me ama.” Na ɔde burodo bɔɔ mu de maa Yuda Iskariot a ɔyɛ Simon ba no.
Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I give this morsel after I have dipped it.” Then he dipped the morsel and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 Ɛberɛ a Yuda gyee burodo no pɛ na ɔbonsam bɛhyɛɛ ne mu. Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Deɛ wopɛ sɛ woyɛ no, yɛ no ntɛm!”
After Judas took the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What yoʋ are about to do, do quickly.”
28 Wɔn a na wɔte adidiiɛ no mu biara ante asɛm a Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no no ase.
(Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him.
29 Esiane sɛ Yuda na ɔhwɛ asuafoɔ no sika so enti, na wɔsusu sɛ, Yesu reka akyerɛ no sɛ, ɔnkɔtɔ biribi a ɛho hia ma afahyɛ no anaasɛ ɔnkɔma ahiafoɔ biribi.
Some were thinking, since Judas had the moneybag, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy what we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.)
30 Yuda gyee burodo no pɛ na ɔfirii adi; saa ɛberɛ no na ɛyɛ anadwo.
As soon as Judas took the morsel, he went out. And it was night.
31 Yuda firii adi kɔeɛ akyi no, Yesu kaa sɛ, “Afei na Onipa Ba no animuonyam ada adi; na Onyankopɔn nam Ɔba no so ada nʼanimuonyam adi.
When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 Na sɛ ɛnam Ɔba no so na Onyankopɔn animuonyam da adi a, Onyankopɔn nso nam ne tumi so bɛda Onipa Ba no animuonyam adi. Ɔbɛyɛ yei ntɛm so.
And if God is glorified in him, God will also glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him immediately.
33 “Me mma, ɛrenkyɛre biara, mɛgya mo hɔ. Sɛdeɛ meka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ mpanin no, mobɛhwehwɛ me, nanso morentumi mma faako a merekɔ hɔ no.
Little children, I am with you for a little while longer. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, now I say to you also, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’
34 “Ahyɛdeɛ foforɔ na mede regya mo sɛ, ‘Monnodɔ mo ho sɛdeɛ medɔ mo no.
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you must love one another.
35 Na sɛ mododɔ mo ho mo ho a, obiara bɛhunu sɛ moyɛ mʼasuafoɔ.’”
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
36 Simon Petro bisaa Yesu sɛ, “Awurade, ɛhe na worekɔ?” Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Faako a merekɔ no deɛ, worentumi nni mʼakyi; daakye bi wobɛba abɛka me ho.”
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are yoʋ going?” Jesus answered him, “Yoʋ cannot follow me now to the place where I am going, but afterward yoʋ will follow me.”
37 Petro bisaa no sɛ, “Awurade, adɛn enti na merentumi nni wʼakyi saa ɛberɛ yi? Ɛyɛ owuo mpo a, mɛwu ama wo.”
Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow yoʋ now? I will lay down my life for yoʋ.”
38 Yesu bisaa no sɛ, “Woasiesie wo ho ampa ara sɛ wobɛwu ama me anaa? Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ wo sɛ, ansa na akokɔ bɛbɔn no, na woapa me mprɛnsa.”
Jesus answered him, “Yoʋ will lay down yoʋr life for me? Truly, truly, I say to yoʋ, a rooster will certainly not crow until yoʋ have denied me three times.”
