< Hiob 36 >

1 Elihu toaa ne kasa so sɛ,
Then continued Elihu, and said,
2 “Monto mo bo ase kakra mma me, na mɛkyerɛ mo sɛ aka bebree a ɛsɛ sɛ yɛka ma Onyankopɔn.
Wait for me a little, and I will instruct thee; for [I have] still some words on God's behalf.
3 Menya me nimdeɛ firi akyirikyiri; mɛka sɛ me Yɛfoɔ bu atɛntenenee.
I will lift up my knowledge for him who is afar, and for my Maker will I obtain righteousness.
4 Monnye ntom sɛ me nsɛm yɛ nokorɛ turodoo; na meyɛ obi a ne nimdeɛ so wɔ mo mu.
For truly no falsehood is [in] my words: one that is upright in [his] opinions [dealeth now] with thee.
Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength of intellect.
He permitteth not the wicked to live; but he procureth justice for the afflicted.
7 Ɔnnyi nʼani mfiri ɔteneneeni so. Ɔma wɔne ahemfo di adeɛ na ɔma wɔn so afebɔɔ.
He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous; but [he placeth them] with kings on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
And if they be bound in fetters, and if they be entangled in the cords of affliction:
9 ɔka deɛ wɔayɛ kyerɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnam ahantan so ayɛ bɔne.
Then doth he tell them of their work, and of their transgressions, when they had become strong.
10 Ɔma wɔtie ntenesoɔ na ɔhyɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnnu wɔn ho wɔn bɔne ho.
And he openeth thus their ear to correction, and saith that they should return from wrong-doing.
11 Sɛ wɔyɛ ɔsetie na wɔsom no a, wɔbɛdi yie wɔ wɔn ɛnna a aka no mu na wɔn mfeɛ nyinaa ayɛ anisɔ ama wɔn.
If they hearken and serve [him], they will spend their days in happiness, and their years in pleasures.
12 Na sɛ wɔantie no a, wɔbɛyera wɔ akofena ano, na wɔawuwu a wɔnni nimdeɛ.
But if they hearken not, they will pass away through the sword, and they will perish in want of knowledge.
13 “Wɔn a wɔnnim Onyame no kora abufuo so; mpo sɛ ɔgu wɔn nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn a, wɔnsu mpɛ mmoa.
But the hypocrites in heart persevere in wrath; they will not offer entreaty when he bindeth them:
14 Wɔwuwu wɔn mmabunuberɛ mu wɔ adwaman mu, wɔ mmarima adwamanfoɔ a wɔtete abosonnan mu mu.
Their soul will die in youth, and their life, among the incestuous.
15 Nanso, wɔn a wɔhunu amane no, ɔgye wɔn; na ɔkasa kyerɛ wɔn wɔ wɔn haw mu.
He delivereth the afflicted through his affliction, and openeth through oppression his ear.
16 “Ɔregye wo afiri ahohiahia mu de wo akɔ petee mu a ahokyere nnie, deɛ wowɔ asomdwoeɛ, na nnuane pa ayɛ wo ɛpono so ma.
And also thee hath he incited away from the jaws of distress into a wide space, on the site of which there is no straitness; and what is set on thy table is full of fatness.
17 Nanso seesei, atemmuo a ɛfata amumuyɛfoɔ na aba wo so; atemmuo ne atɛntenenee asɔ wo mu.
But if thou art full of the judgment of the wicked: [divine] judgment and decree will support each other.
For there would be fury, If aught were to incite thee to utter an abundance [of rebellious words]; and the greatness of the infliction must not mislead thee.
19 Wʼahonya anaasɛ mpo wʼahohaw bebrebe nyinaa enti, worenkɔ amanehunu mu anaa?
Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold ore, nor all the highest forces of strength.
20 Mpere anadwo ho, sɛ ɛmmɛpra nnipa mfiri wɔn afie mu.
Desire then not eagerly the night, when nations pass away in their place.
Take heed, turn not thyself to wrong-doing, so that thou wouldst choose this because of [thy] affliction.
22 “Onyankopɔn yɛ kɛseɛ wɔ ne tumi mu. Hwan na ɔyɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ sɛ ɔno?
Behold, God is exalted by his power: who is an instructer like him?
23 Hwan na wahyehyɛ nʼakwan ama no anaa waka akyerɛ no sɛ, ‘Woayɛ mfomsoɔ.’
Who hath given him a charge concerning his way? or who hath ever said, Thou hast acted unjustly?
Reflect, that thou shouldst magnify his work, which [other] men have beheld.
25 Adasamma nyinaa ahunu; nnipa hwɛ haa firi akyirikyiri.
All men have looked at it [with astonishment]; the mortal gazeth at it from afar.
26 Onyankopɔn yɛ kɛseɛ, ɛboro yɛn nteaseɛ so! Ne mfeɛ dodoɔ mu nni hwehwɛbea.
Behold, God is great, and we comprehend him not, the number of his years can truly not be searched out.
27 “Ɔtwetwe nsuo a ɛsosɔ, ma ɛdane osutɔ gu asutene mu;
For he taketh away drops of water, which are purified into rain in his mist:
28 na omununkum tɔ bosuo gu fam na osutɔ bebree gu adasamma so.
These drop down out of the skies; they distil upon the multitude of men.
29 Hwan na ɔbɛtumi ate sɛdeɛ ɔtrɛtrɛ omununkum mu ase, sɛdeɛ ɔbobɔ mu firi nʼatenaeɛ?
But [what man] can understand the outspreadings of the clouds? the tumult of his tabernacle?
30 Hwɛ sɛdeɛ ɔhwete nʼanyinam mu wɔ ne ho ma ɛkɔ ɛpo bunu mu.
Behold, he spreadeth out over it his light, and covereth up the roots of the sea.
31 Yei ne ɛkwan a ɔfa so di amanaman no so na ɔma aduane bu wɔn so.
For by means of them he judgeth nations, he giveth food in superfluity.
32 Ɔde anyinam hyɛ ne nsam ma na ɔhyɛ no sɛ ɛnsi nʼagyiraeɛ.
[His] hands he covereth with light; and he commandeth it to strike the one who striveth against him.
The noise of his storm telleth of it, yea, the cattle also, of the rising tempest.
