< Hiob 12 >
And Job answered and said,
2 “Ampa ara mone nnipa no, na mowu a na nyansa asa!
So then ye [alone] are men, and wisdom shall die with you?
3 Nanso mewɔ adwene sɛ mo ara na monnsene me.
[But] I also have a heart as well as you.
4 “Mayɛ aseredeɛ ama me nnamfonom, mefrɛɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔbuaeɛ. Mayɛ aseredeɛ tata, nanso metene, na me ho nni asɛm.
For a righteous and blameless man has become a subject for mockery.
5 Nnipa a wɔn ho tɔ wɔn bu amanehunu animtiaa sɛdeɛ wɔbu wɔn a wɔn nan rewatiri no awieeɛ animtiaa.
For it had been ordained that he should fall under others at the appointed time, and that his houses should be spoiled by transgressors: let not however any one trust that, being evil, he shall be [held] guiltless,
6 Wɔmmfa wɔn nsa nka akorɔmfoɔ ntomadan, na wɔn a wɔma Onyankopɔn bo fuo no wɔ banbɔ na Onyankopɔn bɔ deɛ ɔde ma wɔn ho ban.
even as many as provoke the Lord, as if there were indeed to be no inquisition [made] of them.
7 “Bisa mmoa no, na wɔbɛkyerɛ wo anaasɛ ewiem nnomaa no, na wɔbɛka akyerɛ wo
But ask now the beasts, if they may speak to thee; and the birds of the air, if they may declare to thee.
Tell the earth, if it may speak to thee: and the fishes of the sea shall explain to thee.
9 Wɔn nyinaa mu hwan na ɔnnim sɛ Awurade nsa na ayɛ yei.
Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them?
Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.
11 Aso nsɔ nsɛm nnhwɛ, sɛdeɛ tɛkrɛma ka aduane hwɛ no anaa?
For the ear tries words, and the palate tastes meats.
In length of time is wisdom, and in long life knowledge.
13 “Nyansa ne tumi yɛ Onyankopɔn dea; afotuo ne nteaseɛ yɛ ne dea.
With him are wisdom and power, with him counsel and understanding.
14 Deɛ ɔbubu guo no, obiara rentumi nsi; deɛ ɔde no to nneduadan mu no, obiara rentumi nyi no.
If he should cast down, who will build up? if he should shut up against man, who shall open?
15 Sɛ ɔma osuo gyae tɔ a, asase no so yɛ wesee; sɛ ɔgyaa osutɔ mu a, ɛsɛe asase no.
If he should withhold the water, he will dry the earth: and if he should let it loose, he overthrows and destroys it.
16 Ahoɔden ne nkonimdie wɔ no osisifoɔ ne deɛ wɔsisi noɔ nso wɔ no.
With him are strength and power: he has knowledge and understanding.
He leads counsellors away captive, and maddens the judges of the earth.
18 Ɔworɔ ahemfo nkyehoma na ɔde abɔsoɔ bɔ wɔn asene.
He seats kings upon thrones, and girds their loins with a girdle.
19 Ɔpa asɔfoɔ ho ntoma, na ɔtu nnipa a wɔn ase atim akyɛre gu.
He sends away priests into captivity, and overthrows the mighty ones of the earth.
20 Ɔka afotufoɔ a wɔgye wɔn die no kasaboa hyɛ, na ɔgye mpanimfoɔ nhunumu.
He changes the lips of the trusty, and he knows the understanding of the elders.
21 Ɔde animguaseɛ gu atitire so na ɔtintim gye ahoɔdenfoɔ nsam akodeɛ.
He pours dishonour upon princes, and heals the lowly.
22 Ɔda esum mu nneɛma a ahinta adi na ɔde esum kabii ba hann mu.
Revealing deep things out of darkness: and he has brought into light the shadow of death.
23 Ɔyɛ aman akɛseɛ, na ɔsɛe wɔn; ɔtrɛ aman mu, na ɔhwete wɔn mu.
Causing the nations to wander, and destroying them: overthrowing the nations, and leading them [away].
24 Ɔgye ewiase akannifoɔ adwene firi wɔn nsam; na ɔma wɔkyinkyini asase wesee a ɛkwan nna soɔ so.
Perplexing the minds of the princes of the earth: and he causes them to wander in a way, they have not known, [saying],
25 Wɔhwehwɛ wɔ esum mu a wɔnni kanea; na ɔma wɔtɔ ntintan sɛ asabofoɔ.
Let them grope [in] darkness, and [let there be] no light, and let them wander as a drunken man.
