< Yeremia 47 >
1 Ansa na Farao bɛto ahyɛ Gasa so no, yei ne Awurade asɛm a ɛfa Filistifoɔ ho a ɛbaa odiyifoɔ Yeremia nkyɛn:
The wordes of the Lord that came to Ieremiah the Prophet, against the Philistims, before that Pharaoh smote Azzah.
2 Sei na Awurade seɛ: “Monhwɛ sɛdeɛ nsuo retue wɔ atifi fam; ɛbɛbu afa asase no ne biribiara a ɛwɔ soɔ so, nkuro no ne nnipa a wɔtete mu. Nnipa no bɛteateam; wɔn a wɔte asase no so nyinaa bɛtwa adwo
Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, waters rise vp out of the North, and shalbe as a swelling flood, and shall ouerflowe the land, and all that is therein, and the cities with them that dwell therein: then the men shall crie, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howle,
3 ɛberɛ a wɔate apɔnkɔ a wɔdi mmirika no nan ase nnyegyeɛ, na wɔate atamfoɔ no nteaseɛnam gyegyeegye ne wɔn ntwahonan nnyegyeɛ. Agyanom rentwa wɔn ani nhwɛ wɔn mma; wɔn nsa bɛsensɛn wɔn ho kwa.
At the noise and stamping of ye hoofes of his strong horses, at the noise of his charets, and at the rumbling of his wheeles: ye fathers shall not looke backe to their children, for feeblenes of handes,
4 Na ɛda no aba sɛ wɔsɛe Filistifoɔ no nyinaa na wɔtwa wɔn a wɔaka no nyinaa gu, wɔn a anka wɔtumi boa Tiro ne Sidon no. Awurade rebɛsɛe Filistifoɔ no, nkaeɛfoɔ a wɔfiri Kreta mpoano no.
Because of the day that commeth to destroy all the Philistims, and to destroy Tyrus, and Zidon, and all the rest that take their part: for the Lord will destroy the Philistims, the remnant of the yle of Caphtor.
5 Gasa bɛbɔ tikwa ɛberɛ a ɔretwa adwo; wɔbɛma Askelon atɔre mum. Ao nkaeɛfoɔ a mowɔ tata so, mobɛsu akɔsi da bɛn?
Baldenes is come vpon Azzah: Ashkelon is cut vp with the rest of their valleys. Howe long wilt thou thy selfe?
6 “Mosu sɛ, ‘Aa Awurade akofena, da bɛn na wobɛhome? Sane kɔhyɛ wo bɔha mu; gyae na da dinn.’
O thou sword of the Lord, how long will it be or thou cease! turne againe into thy scaberd, rest and be still.
7 Na ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na ada dinn ɛberɛ a Awurade ahyɛ no sɛ ɔnkoto nhyɛ Askelon ne mpoano no so?”
Howe can it cease, seeing the Lord hath giuen it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea banke? euen there hath he appointed it.
