< Yeremia 46 >
1 Yei ne asɛm a ɛfiri Awurade nkyɛn baa odiyifoɔ Yeremia hɔ a ɛfa aman no ho.
The word which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
2 Deɛ ɛfa Misraim ho no nie: Yei ne nsɛm a ɛtia Misraimhene Farao Neko akodɔm a Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar dii wɔn so nkonim wɔ Karkemis, Asubɔnten Eufrate ho wɔ Yudahene Yosia babarima Yehoakim adedie afe a ɛtɔ so ɛnan no:
Of Egypt. Concerning the army of Pharaoh-Necho, the king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, smote, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah.
3 “Siesie wʼakokyɛm, akɛseɛ ne nketewa nyinaa, na montu ntene nkɔ ɔsa!
Prepare ye the buckler and shield, And move on to battle!
4 Monsiesie apɔnkɔ no, na momforo ntenatena wɔn so. Monyinagyina mo afa a mo dadeɛ kyɛ hyehyɛ mo! Monse mo mpea ano, na monhyɛ mo nkataboɔ.
Harness the horses, and mount, ye riders! Stand forth in your helmets; Make bright the spears, And put on the coats of mail!
5 Ɛdeɛn na mehunu? Wɔabɔ hu, wɔresane wɔn akyi, wɔn nnɔmmarima adi nkoguo. Wɔdwane ntɛm so a wɔnnhwɛ wɔn akyi, na ehu wɔ baabiara,” Awurade na ɔseɛ.
Wherefore do I see them dismayed, and turned back? Even their mighty ones are smitten; They flee apace; they look not back. Terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.
6 Ɔhoɔherɛfoɔ ntumi nnwane, na ɔhoɔdenfoɔ nso saa ara. Atifi fam wɔ Asubɔnten Eufrate ho wɔsuntisunti na wɔhwehwe ase.
Let not the swift attempt to flee away, Nor the mighty man to escape; Toward the North by the river Euphrates shall they stumble and fall.
7 “Hwan, na ɔma ne homene so sɛ Asubɔnten Nil, sɛ nsubɔntene a emu nsuo woro soɔ yi?
Who is he that riseth up like the Nile, Whose waters swell like floods?
8 Misraim ma ne homene so sɛ Nil, sɛ nsubɔntene a emu nsuo woro soɔ. Ɔka sɛ, ‘Mɛsɔre akata asase no so; mɛsɛe nkuropɔn ne emu nnipa.’
Egypt riseth up like the Nile, And like floods do his waters swell. He saith, “I will arise, I will cover the land, I will destroy the city, and them that dwell therein.”
9 Monkɔ mo anim, apɔnkɔ! Monka wɔn anibereɛ so, Ao teaseɛnamkafoɔ! Montu ntene, Ao nnɔmmarima, Kus ne Put mmarimma a mokura akokyɛm, Lidia mmarima a moto agyan.
Come up, ye horses, and rage, ye chariots! And let the mighty men go forth, The Ethiopians, and the Libyans, that bear the shield, And the Lydians, that bear and bend the bow!
10 Nanso, ɛda no yɛ Awurade, Asafo Awurade dea, aweretɔ da, nʼatamfoɔ so aweretɔ. Akofena bɛkunkum akɔsi sɛ ɔbɛmee, akɔsi ɛberɛ a ɔde mogya bɛdwodwo ne sukɔm ano. Ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade, Asafo Awurade bɛbɔ afɔdeɛ wɔ atifi fam asase a ɛwɔ Asubɔnten Eufrate ho no so.
This is the day of the Lord Jehovah of hosts, A day of vengeance, to avenge himself of his enemies; And the sword shall devour, and satiate itself, And it shall be made drunk with their blood. For Jehovah of hosts hath a sacrifice In the North country, by the river Euphrates.
11 “Foro kɔ Gilead kɔgye aduro Ao, Misraim Babaa Babunu. Nanso, nnuro bebrebe a wofa no yɛ kwa, ayaresa biara nni hɔ ma wo.
Go up to Gilead, and take balm, O virgin, daughter of Egypt! In vain shalt thou use many medicines; There is no cure for thee!
12 Amanaman no bɛte wʼanimguaseɛ; wʼagyaadwoɔ bɛhyɛ asase so ma. Ɔkofoɔ baako bɛsunti ɔfoforɔ so; na wɔn baanu bɛbɔ mu ahwe ase.”
The nations have heard of thy shame, And thy cry hath filled the earth; For they have stumbled, the mighty against the mighty, And they are fallen both together.
13 Yei ne asɛm a Awurade ka kyerɛɛ odiyifoɔ Yeremia a ɛfa Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar ba a ɔbɛba abɛto ahyɛ Misraim so:
The word which Jehovah spake to Jeremiah the prophet, concerning the coming of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to smite the land of Egypt.
14 “Mommɔ yei ho dawuro wɔ Misraim, na mompae mu nka wɔ Migdol; monka wɔ Memfis ne Tapanhes nso sɛ, ‘Monnyinagyina na monyɛ krado, ɛfiri sɛ, akofena rekunkum wɔn a wɔatwa mo ho ahyia.’
Declare ye in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol, Proclaim ye also in Noph and Tahpanhes! Say ye, “Stand fast and prepare thyself, For the sword shall devour round about thee!”
15 Adɛn enti na mo nnɔmmarima bɛboto sei? Wɔrentumi nnyina, ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade bɛbɔ wɔn ahwe fam.
Wherefore are thy mighty ones overthrown? They stood not, because Jehovah cast them down.
16 Wɔbɛsuntisunti atoatoa so; wɔbɛhwehwe ase adeda wɔn ho wɔn ho so. Wɔbɛka sɛ, ‘Monsɔre, momma yɛnkɔ yɛn nkyi nkɔ yɛn nkurɔfoɔ nkyɛn ne baabi a wɔwoo yɛn, na yɛmfiri ɔhyɛsofoɔ no akofena ano.’
He caused many to fall; one fell upon another; And they said, “Arise, and let us go to our own people, And to the land of our nativity, from the overpowering sword.”
17 Ɛhɔ na wɔbɛteam sɛ, ‘Misraimhene Farao dwa nʼanom kwa; nʼakwannya a ɔwɔ no atwam.’
There they cry, “Pharaoh, king of Egypt, is undone! He hath let pass the appointed time.”
18 “Ampa ara sɛ mete ase yi” Ɔhene a ne din ne Asafo Awurade na ɔseɛ, “Ɔbaako bɛba a ɔte sɛ Tabor wɔ mmepɔ no mu, anaasɛ Karmel a ɛwɔ mpoano.
As I live, saith the King, Whose name is Jehovah of hosts: Like Tabor among the mountains, And like Carmel by the sea, he cometh! Prepare thyself travelling equipage,
19 Mommoaboa mo nneɛma ano ntwɛn nnommumfa, mo a motete Misraim, ɛfiri sɛ wɔbɛsɛe Memfis kuro na ɛbɛda mpan a obiara rentena so.
Thou who dwellest in Egypt! For Noph shall become waste, Yea, desolate without an inhabitant.
20 “Misraim yɛ nantwie ba bereɛ a ne ho yɛ fɛ, nanso kawere bi firi atifi fam reba ne so.
Egypt is a fair heifer, But destruction cometh; it cometh from the North.
21 Asraafoɔ apaafoɔ a wɔwɔ wɔn mu no te sɛ anantwie mma a wɔadɔre sradeɛ. Wɔn nso bɛdane wɔn ho adwane abom, wɔrentumi nnyina wɔn nan so, ɛfiri sɛ, amanehunu da no reba wɔn so, ɛberɛ a wɔde bɛtwe wɔn aso no.
Her mercenaries also in the midst of her are like fatted bullocks; Yet they also turn back; they flee together; they stand not; For the day of their calamity is come upon them, And the time of their punishment.
22 Misraim bɛtee so sɛ ɔtweaseɛ a ɔredwane ɛberɛ a ɔtamfoɔ de ahoɔden reba ne so no; wɔde mmonnua bɛba ne so te sɛ mmarima a wɔbu nnua.
Her voice shall be heard like that of a serpent, When they shall march against her with their forces, And come against her with axes like fellers of trees.
23 Wɔbɛsɛe ne kwaeɛ,” Awurade na ɔseɛ, “sɛdeɛ ayɛ kusuu yi mpo. Wɔdɔɔso bebree sene ntutummɛ, na wɔrentumi nkane wɔn.
They shall cut down her forest, though it be impenetrable; For they exceed the locusts in multitude, And are innumerable.
24 Wɔbɛgu Ɔbabaa Misraim anim ase, wɔde no bɛhyɛ atifi fam nnipa no nsa.”
The daughter of Egypt is brought to shame; She is given into the hand of the people of the North.
25 Asafo Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, ka sɛ, “Mede asotwe reba Tebes nyame Amon, Farao, Misraim ne nʼanyame ne nʼahemfo ne wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to Farao soɔ no so.
Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Ammon of No, And Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods and their kings; Even Pharaoh and all that trust in him.
26 Mede wɔn bɛhyɛ wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wɔkum wɔn no nsa: Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar ne nʼadwumayɛfoɔ no. Nanso, akyire no, nnipa bɛtena Misraim asase so te sɛ kane no,” Awurade na ɔseɛ.
And I will deliver them into the hands of those that seek their lives, And into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, And into the hand of his servants. But after this it shall be inhabited, As in the days of old, saith Jehovah.
27 “Nsuro, Ao Yakob me ɔsomfoɔ; mma wʼaba mu mmu, Ao Israel. Ampa ara mɛgye wo afiri beaeɛ a ɛwɔ akyirikyiri, ne wʼasefoɔ afiri wɔn nnommumfa asase so. Yakob bɛsane anya asomdwoeɛ ne banbɔ, na obiara renhunahuna no.
But fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, And be not thou dismayed, O Israel! For, behold, I will bring thee safe from afar, And thy posterity from the land of their captivity; And Jacob shall return and be at rest, Yea, he shall be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
28 Nsuro, Ao, Yakob me ɔsomfoɔ; na me ne wɔ hɔ,” Awurade na ɔseɛ. “Ɛwom sɛ mesɛe aman no nyinaa koraa, aman a mehwetee mo kɔɔ so no deɛ, nanso merensɛe mo korakora. Mede tenenee nko ara na ɛbɛtenetene mo so; meremma mommfa mo ho nni a merentwe mo aso.”
Fear thou not, O Jacob, my servant, saith Jehovah, For I will be with thee; When I shall make a full end of all the nations Whither I have dispersed thee, Yet will I not make a full end of thee; I will correct thee in measure; Yet must I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
