< Yeremia 43 >
1 Ɛberɛ a Yeremia wiee nsɛm a ɛfiri Awurade wɔn Onyankopɔn nkyɛn no ka no,
And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had ended speaking unto all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, with which Jehovah their God had sent him to them — all these words,
2 Hosaia babarima Asaria, Karea babarima Yohanan ne mmarima ahomasofoɔ no nyinaa ka kyerɛɛ Yeremia sɛ, “Woredi atorɔ! Awurade yɛn Onyankopɔn nsomaa wo sɛ bɛka sɛ, ‘Ɛnsɛ sɛ mokɔ Misraim kɔtena hɔ.’
— then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there;
3 Na mmom Neria babarima Baruk na ɔregyegye wo so tia yɛn ama wɔde yɛn ahyɛ Babiloniafoɔ nsa, sɛdeɛ wɔbɛkum yɛn anaa wɔbɛsoa yɛn de yɛn akɔ nkoasom mu wɔ Babilonia.”
but Baruch the son of Nerijah is setting thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.
4 Enti, Karea babarima Yohanan ne asraafoɔ mpanimfoɔ no nyinaa ne nnipa no anni Awurade hyɛ a ɔhyɛɛ wɔn sɛ wɔntena Yuda asase so no so.
So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah to abide in the land of Judah;
5 Mmom Karea babarima Yohanan ne asraafoɔ mpanimfoɔ nyinaa de Yuda nkaeɛfoɔ a wɔfifirii amanaman a wɔbɔɔ wɔn pete kɔɔ so no so na wɔaba sɛ wɔrebɛtena Yuda asase so no nyinaa kɔɔeɛ.
but Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all nations whither they had been driven, to sojourn in the land of Judah;
6 Wɔde mmarima, mmaa, mmɔfra ne ɔhene mmammaa a ɔsahene Nebusaradan a ɔyɛ ɔhene awɛmfoɔ panin no de wɔn gyaa Ahikam babarima Gedalia a ɔyɛ Safan nana kɔɔeɛ. Na odiyifoɔ Yeremia ne Neria babarima Baruk nso ka ho bi.
men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Nerijah;
7 Enti wɔhyɛnee Misraim a wɔanni Awurade asɛm so, na wɔkɔduruu Tapanhes.
and they came into the land of Egypt: for they hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah. And they came as far as Tahpanhes.
8 Awurade asɛm baa Yeremia nkyɛn wɔ Tapanhes sɛ,
And the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
9 “Ɛberɛ a Yudafoɔ no rehwɛ no, fa aboɔ akɛseɛ, afei tutu fam wɔ birikisi nsɛweeɛ a ɛwɔ Farao ahemfie a ɛwɔ Tapanhes aboboano hɔ, na fa gu mu kata so.
Take great stones in thy hand, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the Jews,
10 Afei ka kyerɛ wɔn sɛ, ‘Sei na Asafo Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn seɛ: Mɛsoma me ɔsomfoɔ Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar, na mede nʼahennwa bɛsi saa aboɔ a masie wɔ ha no so; na ɔbɛtrɛ nʼadehye kyiniiɛ mu wɔ so.
and say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne upon these stones which I have hidden, and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
11 Ɔbɛba abɛto ahyɛ Misraim so, na ɔbɛkum wɔn a wɔahyɛ sɛ wɔnkum wɔn no, na wɔafa wɔn a wɔahyɛ sɛ wɔnkɔ nnommumfa mu nnommum. Na wɔn a wɔahyɛ sɛ wɔmfa wɔn mma akofena no nso, wɔde wɔn bɛma akofena.
And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt: such as are for death to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.
12 Ɔbɛto Misraim anyame asɔredan mu ogya ahye na wɔafa wɔn anyame no nnommum. Sɛdeɛ odwanhwɛfoɔ de nʼatadeɛ kyekyere ne ho no, saa ara na ɔde Misraim bɛkyekyere ne ho na wafiri hɔ akɔ a ne ho baabiara renti.
And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
13 Owia asɔredan a ɛwɔ Misraim no, ɔbɛbubu nʼafadum kronkron no, na wahye Misraim anyame asɔredan no dworobɛɛ.’”
And he shall break the pillars of Beth-shemesh, which is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
