1 Asɛm a ɛfa Yudafoɔ nyinaa ho baa Yeremia nkyɛn wɔ Yudahene Yosia babarima Yehoiakim, adedie afe a ɛtɔ so ɛnan a ɛyɛ Babiloniahene Nebukadnessar adedie afe a ɛdi ɛkan.
The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (the same was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
2 Enti odiyifoɔ Yeremia ka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ ne wɔn a wɔtete Yerusalem nyinaa sɛ,
which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
3 Mfeɛ aduonu mmiɛnsa nie, ɛfiri Yudahene Amon babarima Yosia adedie afe a ɛtɔ so dumiɛnsa bɛsi ɛnnɛ, Awurade asɛm aba me so na makasa akyerɛ mo mpɛn bebree, nanso monntieɛ.
"From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years, the word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened.
4 Mpo Awurade asoma nʼasomfoɔ a wɔyɛ nʼadiyifoɔ aba mo nkyɛn mpɛn bebree, na montiee wɔn, na monyɛɛ aso mmaa wɔn.
Jehovah has sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them (but you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear)
5 Wɔkaa sɛ, “Mo mu biara mfiri nʼakwan bɔne ne ne nneyɛɛ bɔne ho, na mobɛtumi atena asase a Awurade de maa mo ne mo agyanom no so afebɔɔ.
saying, 'Return now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forevermore;
6 Monni anyame foforɔ akyi nkɔsom wɔn nsɔre wɔn; mommfa deɛ mode mo nsa ayɛ no nhyɛ me abufuo. Afei merenha mo.”
and do not go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no harm.
7 “Nanso moanntie me,” Awurade na ɔseɛ, “na mode deɛ mode mo nsa ayɛ ahyɛ me abufuo, na mode ɔhaw aba mo so.”
Yet you have not listened to me,' says Jehovah; 'that you may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.'
8 Afei deɛ Asafo Awurade seɛ nie: “Esiane sɛ moantie me nsɛm no enti,
Therefore thus says Jehovah of hosts: 'Because you have not heard my words,
look, I will send and take all the families of the north,' says Jehovah, 'and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations around; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Mɛyi ahosane ne anigyeɛ nnyegyeɛ, ayeforɔkunu ne ayeforɔyere nne, oyuyammoɔ nnyegyeeɛ ne kanea hann afiri wɔn mu.
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
11 Ɔman mu no nyinaa bɛdane asase wesee, na saa amanaman yi bɛsom Babiloniahene mfirinhyia aduɔson.
This whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 “Na mfirinhyia aduɔson awieeɛ no, mɛtwe Babiloniahene ne ne ɔman, Babiloniafoɔ asase aso wɔ wɔn amumuyɛ ho, mɛdane no amanfo afebɔɔ,” sɛdeɛ Awurade seɛ nie.
It shall happen, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, says Jehovah, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it desolate forever.
13 “Mɛma asotwe a mahyɛ atia asase no nyinaa aba wɔn so, deɛ wɔatwerɛ wɔ nwoma yi mu na Yeremia ahyɛ ho nkɔm atia aman no nyinaa no.
I will bring on that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this scroll, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
14 Wɔn ankasa deɛ, amanaman bebree ne ahempɔn de wɔn bɛyɛ nkoa; na mɛtua wɔn nneyɛeɛ ne wɔn nsa ano adwuma so ka.”
For many nations and great kings shall make bondservants of them, even of them; and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.'"
15 Yei ne deɛ Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn, ka kyerɛɛ me: “Gye saa kuruwa yi a mʼabufuhyeɛ nsã ahyɛ no ma yi, na ma amanaman a mɛsoma wo wɔn nkyɛn no nyinaa nnom.
For thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel, to me: "Take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.
16 Sɛ wɔnom a, wɔbɛtɔ ntintan na wɔabobɔ dam ɛsiane akofena a mɛsoma akɔ wɔn so no enti.”
They shall drink, and reel back and forth, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them."
17 Ɛno enti, megyee kuruwa no firii Awurade nsam, na memaa amanaman a ɔsomaa me wɔn nkyɛn no nomeeɛ:
Then took I the cup at Jehovah's hand, and made all the nations to drink, to whom Jehovah had sent me:
18 Yerusalem ne Yuda nkuro, nʼahemfo ne ne nnwumayɛfoɔ sɛ wɔnyɛ asɛedeɛ, ahodwiredeɛ, fɛdideɛ ne nnome, sɛdeɛ wɔteɛ ɛnnɛ da yi,
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and its kings, and its officials, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;
19 Misraimhene Farao, nʼasomfoɔ, nʼadwumayɛfoɔ ne ne manfoɔ nyinaa,
Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his officials, and all his people;

Edom, and Moab, and the people of Ammon;
22 Tiro ne Sidon ahemfo nyinaa; ne ahemfo a wɔwɔ mpoano aman a wɔwɔ ɛpo agya no;
and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
23 Dedan, Tema, Bus ne nnipa a wɔtete akyirikyiri no;
Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all who have the corners of their beard cut off;
24 Arabia ahemfo ne amanfrafoɔ ahemfo nyinaa a wɔtete anweatam so no.
and all the kings of Arabia, [and all the kings of the mixed people] who dwell in the wilderness;
25 Simri, Elam ne Media ahemfo nyinaa;
and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
26 ne ahemfo a wɔwɔ atifi fam nyinaa, wɔn a wɔbɛn ne wɔn a wɔwɔ akyirikyiri, ne wɔn mu biara, asase so ahennie ahodoɔ. Na wɔn nyinaa akyi no Sesakhene nso bɛnom bi.
and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are on the surface of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
"You shall tell them, 'Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: "Drink, and be drunk, vomit, fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you."'
28 Na sɛ wɔampɛ sɛ wɔgye wo nsam kuruwa no nom a, ka kyerɛ wɔn sɛ, ‘Yei ne deɛ Asafo Awurade seɛ: Ɛsɛ sɛ monom!
It shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink, then you shall tell them, 'Thus says Jehovah of hosts: "You shall surely drink.
29 Monhwɛ, merebɛfiti aseɛ de amanehunu aba kuropɔn a me Din da so no so, na mobɛfa mo ho adi a wɔrentwe mo aso anaa? Wɔbɛtwe mo aso, ɛfiri sɛ merefrɛ akofena aba wɔn a wɔtete asase no so nyinaa so, Asafo Awurade na ɔseɛ.’
For, look, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,"' says Jehovah of hosts.
30 “Afei, hyɛ nsɛm yi nyinaa ho nkɔm tia wɔn, na ka kyerɛ wɔn sɛ, “‘Awurade bɛfiri soro abobom; ɔbɛma ne nne so afiri ne tenabea kronkron hɔ, na wabobɔ mu denden atia nʼasase. Ɔbɛteam te sɛ wɔn a wɔtiatia bobe aba so, ɔbɛteam agu wɔn a wɔtete asase no so.
Therefore prophesy you against them all these words, and tell them, 'Jehovah will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he will mightily roar against his fold; he will give a shout, as those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
A noise shall come even to the remotest parts of the earth; for Jehovah brings charges against the nations; he will enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword,' says Jehovah.
32 Yei ne deɛ Asafo Awurade seɛ: “Monhwɛ! Amanehunu retrɛtrɛ firi ɔman so kɔ ɔman foforɔ so; ahum kɛseɛ bi rema ne ho so afiri nsase ano.”
'Thus says Jehovah of hosts, 'Look, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great storm shall be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.'
33 Saa ɛberɛ no, wɔn a Awurade akunkum wɔn no bɛdeda baabiara, firi asase ano kɔsi ano nohoa. Wɔrensu wɔn na wɔremmoaboa wɔn ano na wɔrensie wɔn, na wɔbɛyɛ sɛ sumina a ɛgugu fam.
The slain of Jehovah shall be on that day from all areas of the earth. They shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung on the surface of the ground.
Wail, you shepherds, and cry; and wallow in dust, you principal of the flock; for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are fully come, and you shall fall like a goodly vessel.
35 Nnwanhwɛfoɔ no rennya baabiara nnwane nkɔ na nnwankuo no ntuanofoɔ no rennya ɛkwan nnwane.
The shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36 Montie nnwanhwɛfoɔ no su, ne nnwankuo no ntuanofoɔ agyaadwotwa, ɛfiri sɛ Awurade resɛe wɔn mmoa adidibea.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal of the flock. For Jehovah lays waste their pasture.
37 Ɛserɛ nsase a asomdwoeɛ wɔ soɔ no bɛda mpan ɛsiane Awurade abufuhyeɛ no enti.
The peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.
38 Na wɔn asase bɛda mpan te sɛ gyata a ɔfiri ne tu mu ɛsiane ɔhyɛsofoɔ no akofena ne Awurade abufuhyeɛ no enti.
He has left his covert, as the lion; for their land has become an astonishment, because of the sword of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger."
