< Yakobo 1 >
1 Krataa yi firi me Yakobo a meyɛ Onyankopɔn ne Awurade Yesu Kristo ɔsomfoɔ nkyɛn, Mekyea mmusuakuo dumienu a wɔahwete no nyinaa.
JAMES, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are dispersed, greeting.
2 Anuanom, sɛ sɔhwɛ bi ba mo akwan mu a, momma mo ani nnye
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into various trials;
3 ɛfiri sɛ, sɛ mo gyidie tumi gyina sɔhwɛ no ano a, ɛno ansa na monya boasetɔ.
knowing that the proof of your faith produceth patience.
4 Momma boasetɔ no ntena mo mu daa nyinaa sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, mobɛyɛ pɛ a biribiara ho renhia mo.
But let patience have its work perfected, that ye may be perfect and complete, deficient in nothing.
5 Sɛ nyansa ho hia mo mu bi a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔbɔ mpaeɛ srɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔbɛma no bi, ɛfiri sɛ, Onyankopɔn firi ayamyɛ ne adom mu ma obiara deɛ ɛhia no no kwa.
But if any man of you be deficient in wisdom, let him ask it of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.
6 Na sɛ worebɔ mpaeɛ a, ɛsɛ sɛ wogye di a wonnye ho akyinnyeɛ. Obiara a ɔgye akyinnyeɛ no te sɛ ɛpo asorɔkye a mframa bɔ no kɔ baabiara a ɛpɛ.
But let him ask in faith, harbouring no doubt: for he who is doubtful is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind, and in constant agitation.
7 Ɛnsɛ sɛ saa onipa no susu sɛ ɔbɛnya biribiara afiri Awurade nkyɛn;
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing from the Lord.
8 nʼadwene yɛ no ntanta a ɔntumi nsi biribiara pi.
A double-minded man is unsteady in all his ways.
9 Sɛ Onyankopɔn ma onua hiani so a, ɛsɛ sɛ nʼani gye,
Let the brother low in station rejoice in his elevation:
10 na adefoɔ a wabrɛ wɔn ase no nso saa ara. Ɛfiri sɛ, adefoɔ no twam kɔ sɛ wiram afifideɛ bi.
but the rich, in his abasement: for as the flower of grass he shall pass away.
11 Owia pue de ne hyeɛ no hye afifideɛ no ma nʼahoɔfɛ no sɛe. Saa ara na wɔbɛsɛe adefoɔ no ɛberɛ a wɔgu so redi wɔn nnwuma no.
For the sun arose with fervour, and burnt up the grass, and the flower of it fell off, and the beauty of its appearance was lost: just so the rich man in his course of life shall wither away.
12 Nhyira nka onipa a ɔnya gyidie wɔ amanehunu mu, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔno na ɔbɛnya akyɛdeɛ a Onyankopɔn ahyɛ ho bɔ ama wɔn a wɔdɔ no no.
Blessed is the man who patiently supports temptation: for when he is proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to those who love him.
13 Sɛ wɔsɔ obi hwɛ a, ɛnsɛ sɛ ɔka sɛ, “Saa sɔhwɛ yi firi Onyankopɔn.” Ɛfiri sɛ, bɔne rentumi nsɔ Onyankopɔn nhwɛ, na ɔno Onyankopɔn nso nsɔ obi nhwɛ.
Let no man under temptation say, I am tempted of God: for God is incapable of temptation from evils, and he tempteth no man:
14 Na sɛ onipa twe ne ho na ɔno ara nʼakɔnnɔ yi no a, na ayɛ sɔhwɛ ama no.
but every person is tempted, when by his own peculiar passion he is born away, and ensnared.
15 Na sɛ akɔnnɔ no nyinsɛn a, ɛwo bɔne, na bɔne no nyini a ɛwo owuo.
Then passion impregnated, bringeth forth sin, and sin reaching its consummation, bringeth forth death.
16 Me nuanom adɔfoɔ, mommma wɔnnnaadaa mo.
Be not deceived, my beloved brethren.
17 Akyɛdeɛ pa ne akyɛdeɛ a ɛyɛ pɛ nyinaa firi ɔsoro; ɛfiri Onyankopɔn a ɔbɔɔ ɔsoro hann no nkyɛn na ɛba. Ɔno na ɔnsesa sɛ sunsum.
Every good gift, and every perfect gift, is from above, descending from the father of illuminations, with whom there is no variableness, nor shadow of change.
18 Ɔfiri ne pɛ mu nam nokorɛ a ɛwɔ asɛm no mu no so woo yɛn sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, yɛbɛdi ɛkan wɔ abɔdeɛ nyinaa mu.
Of his own choice he produced us by the word of truth, that we might be a sort of first fruit of his creatures.―
19 Me nuanom adɔfoɔ, monhyɛ yeinom nso: monyɛ ntɛm ntie, monyɛ nyaa nkasa na monyɛ nyaa mfa abufuo;
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
20 ɛfiri sɛ, onipa abufuo no mma ɔnnya Onyankopɔn tenenee no.
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Ɛno enti, montwe mo ho mfiri afideɛ ne atirimuɔden ho. Momfa mo ho mma Onyankopɔn na monnye asɛm a ɔdua wɔ mo akoma mu a ɛbɛgye mo nkwa no.
Wherefore laying aside all vicious pollution, and the abundance of iniquity, receive with meekness the ingrafted word, which hath power to save your souls.
22 Monntie asɛm no sɛ atiefoɔ kwa nsisi mo ho, na mmom, monyɛ asɛm no yɛfoɔ.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves by false reasoning.
23 Obiara a ɔtie asɛm no na ɔmfa nni dwuma no te sɛ obi a ɔhwɛ ahwehwɛ mu, na ɔhunu sɛdeɛ ɔteɛ.
For if any man be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man that looks at his natural face in a glass;
24 Ɔhwɛ ne ho wɔ ahwehwɛ no mu hunu ne ho yie na sɛ ɔfiri ahwehwɛ no anim ara pɛ a, ne werɛ firi deɛ ɔhunuiɛ no nyinaa.
for he beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what sort of person he was.
25 Nanso, obiara a ɔhwɛ mmara a ɛyɛ pɛ no mu yie, deɛ ɛma onipa de ne ho, na ɔdi so, na ɔtie, na ne werɛ mfiri, na ɔde di dwuma no, Onyankopɔn bɛhyira saa onipa no wɔ biribiara a ɔyɛ mu.
But he that looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and perseveres, this man not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, he shall be blessed in his practice.
26 Sɛ obi susu sɛ ɔyɛ Onyamesomfoɔ na wanto ne tɛkrɛma nnareka a, ne nyamesom no ho nni mfasoɔ na ɔdaadaa ne ho nso.
If any man thinks he is a religious character among you, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Deɛ Agya Onyankopɔn fa no sɛ ɛyɛ nyamesom pa no nie: Ɔhwɛ nwisiaa ne akunafoɔ wɔ wɔn ahohia mu, na ɔyi ne ho firi ewiase porɔeɛ ho.
Pure religion and undefiled with God even the Father is this, To pay diligent attention to the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to preserve himself spotless from the world.
