< Yesaia 40 >
1 Monkyekyere, monkyekyere me nkurɔfoɔ werɛ. Saa na mo Onyankopɔn seɛ.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Monka asomdwoesɛm nkyerɛ Yerusalem, na mompae mu nka nkyerɛ no sɛ ne som denden no aba awieeɛ, wɔatua ne bɔne no so ka, na wɔanya ne bɔne nyinaa so akatua mmɔho afiri Awurade nsam.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of Yhwh's hand double for all her sins.
3 Ɛnne bi reteam sɛ, “Monsiesie ɛkwan mma Awurade wɔ anweatam no so. Montene kwantempɔn wɔ ɛserɛ no so mma yɛn Onyankopɔn.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of Yhwh, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Bɔnhwa biara bɛyɛ ma, bepɔ ne nkokoɔ nyinaa bɛkɔ fam, asase a ɛyɛ monkyi mmɔnka no bɛyɛ tamaa, na mmeaɛ a ɛyɛ kɔntɔnkye no ayɛ tata.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 Na Awurade animuonyam bɛda adi, na nnipa nyinaa bɛhunu. Ɛfiri sɛ Awurade na aka!”
And the glory of Yhwh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of Yhwh hath spoken it.
The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 Ɛserɛ hye, na nhwiren twintwam ɛfiri sɛ Awurade ahomeguo fa wɔn so. Nokorɛm nnipa no yɛ ɛserɛ.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of Yhwh bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 Ɛserɛ hye, na nhwiren twintwam, nanso yɛn Onyankopɔn asɛm no tim hɔ daa.”
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
9 Wo a wode asɛm pa reba Sion, foro kɔ bepɔ tenten bi so. Wo a wode asɛm pa reba Yerusalem, ma wo nne so na team, ma so, nsuro; ka kyerɛ Yuda nkuro sɛ, “Mo Onyankopɔn nie!”
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Hwɛ, Asafo Awurade de tumi reba, na nʼabasa bɛdi ɔhene ama no. Hwɛ, nʼakatua ka ne ho, na ɔde nʼabasobɔdeɛ nam.
Behold, the Lord Yhwh will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
11 Ɔhwɛ ne nnwankuo sɛ odwanhwɛfoɔ. Ɔboa nnwammaa no wɔ nʼabasa so. Ɔturu wɔn ne koko so; na nnwan a wɔwɔ mma no, ɔka wɔn brɛoo.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Hwan na ɔde asase so mfuturo agu kɛntɛn mu, anaa wakari mmepɔ wɔ nsania so ne nkokoɔ wɔ nsania apampaa so?
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
Who hath directed the Spirit of Yhwh, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
14 Hwan na Awurade abisa no sɛ ɔnkyerɛ no biribi ase, na hwan na ɔkyerɛɛ no ɛkwan pa no? Hwan na ɔmaa no nimdeɛ anaa ɔkyerɛɛ no nhunumu kwan?
With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
15 Ampa ara aman no te sɛ nsuo sope wɔ bokiti mu; wɔde wɔn toto mfuturo a ɛgu nsania so; ɔkari nsupɔ te sɛ deɛ ɛyɛ mfuturo muhumuhu.
Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16 Lebanon nnɔɔso mma afɔrebukyia so ogya, na ne mmoa renso mma ɔhyeɛ afɔrebɔdeɛ.
And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Aman nyinaa nsɛ hwee wɔ nʼanim; ɔbu wɔn adehunu bi a wɔnka hwee.
All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
Nsɛsodeɛ bɛn ho na wode no bɛtoɔ?
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
20 Ohiani a ɔrentumi mfa saa ayɛyɛdeɛ yi mma no kɔpɛ dua a ɛremporɔ. Ɔhwehwɛ odwumfoɔ nyansafoɔ na wayɛ ohoni a ɛremmuni nhwe fam asi hɔ.
He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
21 Wonnim anaa? Wonteeɛ anaa? Wɔnnka nkyerɛɛ wo firi ahyɛaseɛ no anaa? Ɛfiri ɛberɛ a wɔbɔɔ asase no, wontee aseɛ anaa?
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Ɔte ahennwa so wɔ asase kanko no atifi.
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
23 Ɔma ahenemma yɛ nnipa hunu na ewiase yi sodifoɔ nso, ɔbrɛ wɔn ase.
That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
24 Wɔtɛɛ wɔn ara pɛ, wɔduaa wɔn ara pɛ, wɔgyee nhini wɔ asase mu pɛ ɔhome gu wɔn so ma wɔkusa, na ntwahoframa bɔ wɔn kɔ te sɛ ntɛtɛ.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
25 “Hwan ho na wode me bɛto? Anaasɛ hwan na ɔne me sɛ?” Ɔkronkronni no na ɔseɛ.
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26 Momma mo ani so nhwɛ ɔsoro: Hwan na ɔbɔɔ yeinom nyinaa?
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
27 Adɛn na woka sɛ, Ao Yakob, na wonwiinwii, Ao Israel sɛ, “Mʼakwan ahinta Awurade; na me Onyankopɔn abɔ mʼasɛm agu”?
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Yhwh, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Wonnim anaa? Wonteeɛ anaa?
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, Yhwh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 Ɔma deɛ watɔ bera ahoɔden deɛ wayɛ mmerɛ nso, ɔto nʼahoɔden so.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Mpo, mmabunu brɛ, na wɔtɔ bera, na mmeranteɛ suntisunti hwehwe ase;
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 Nanso, wɔn a wɔn ani da Awurade so bɛnya ahoɔden foforɔ. Wɔde ntaban te sɛ akɔdeɛ deɛ bɛtu akɔ ewiem; wɔbɛtu mmirika, na wɔremmrɛ. Wɔbɛnante, na wɔrentɔ baha.
But they that wait upon Yhwh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
