< Yesaia 28 >
1 Nnome nka nhwiren abotire a ɛyɛ Efraim asabofoɔ ahohoahoadeɛ no, nka nhwiren a ɛrepa a nʼahoɔfɛ wɔ animuonyam ma Israelfoɔ na ɛda asase bereɛ bɔnhwa so. Nnome nka kuropɔn no, deɛ nnipa a nsa asɛe wɔn no de hoahoa wɔn ho no.
Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim [Fruit], and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!
2 Hwɛ, Awurade wɔ obi a ɔwɔ tumi ne ahoɔden. Ɔte sɛ asukɔtweaa ne mframa a ɛsɛe adeɛ. Ɔte sɛ osutɔ a ɛne mframa nam, ne osubrane a ɛhyɛ nsuka ma. Ɔbɛto no ahwe fam ahoɔden so.
Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.
3 Saa nhwiren abotire no a ɛyɛ Efraim asabofoɔ ahohoahoadeɛ no, wɔbɛtiatia so.
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim [Fruit] will be trodden under foot.
4 Saa nhwiren a nʼahoɔfɛ ɛrepa wɔ animuonyam mu deɛ ɛda asase bereɛ bɔnhwa so no, ɛbɛyɛ sɛ borɔdɔma a ɛbere ansa na otwa berɛ aduru. Sɛ obi hunu na ɔte a ɔdi no ntɛm so.
The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer; which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.
5 Saa ɛda no Asafo Awurade bɛyɛ Animuonyam ahenkyɛ, nhwiren abotire fɛfɛ ama ne nkurɔfoɔ nkaeɛfoɔ no.
In that day, Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] will become a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the residue of his people;
6 Ɔbɛyɛ atɛntenenee honhom ama ɔtemmufoɔ a wɔte adwa mu. Ɔbɛyɛ ahoɔden farebae ama wɔn a wɔpam atamfoɔ wɔ nkuro apono ano.
and a spirit of mishpat ·justice· to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
7 Nanso seesei deɛ, asabofoɔ na wɔdi Israel so, na nsaden ma wɔhinhim; nsaden ma asɔfoɔ ne adiyifoɔ tɔ ntentan na nsã ma wɔn ani so yɛ wɔn totɔtotɔ; na wɔhinhim. Wɔtɔ ntentan ɛberɛ a wɔrenya anisoadehunu, na wɔn ano fonfom wɔ adwenkyerɛ mu.
They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.
8 Ɛfeɛ agugu apono nyinaa so, na baabiara ayɛ efi.
For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.
9 Wɔka sɛ, “Deɛn na Awurade dwene fa yɛn ho? Ɔdwen sɛ yɛyɛ mmɔfra anaa? Mmɔfra a wɔatwa wɔn nufoɔ anaa?
Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?
10 Ɔkasa bebree: Ɔka yei, na waka yei ɔma mmara foforɔ akyi mmara; ɔkyerɛ ɛha kakra, na wakyerɛ ɛhɔ nso kakra.”
For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.
11 Ɛno enti, ɛyɛ ananafoɔ ano ne kasa foforɔ na Onyankopɔn de bɛkasa akyerɛ saa nkurɔfoɔ yi.
But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language;
12 Ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɛha ne ahomegyebea no, momma abrɛfoɔ no nhome; ahodwobea nso nie,” nanso wɔantie no.
to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to weary;” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not sh'ma ·hear obey·.
13 Enti afei Awurade bɛti asɛm a ɔde maa wɔn no mu bio: Ɔbɛka yei, na waka yei, ɔbɛma mmara foforɔ akyi mmara; ɔbɛkyerɛ ɛha kakra, na wakyerɛ ɛhɔ nso kakra, na ɛbɛma wɔn apini wɔn akyi; wɔbɛpirapira, na wɔatɔ afidie mu, na wɔakye wɔn.
Therefore Adonai’s word will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.
14 Ɛno enti, montie Awurade asɛm, mo fɛdifoɔ a modi saa nkurɔfoɔ yi so wɔ Yerusalem.
Therefore sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem [City of peace]:
15 Mohoahoa mo ho sɛ, “Yɛ ne owuo ayɛ apam, yɛ ne damena ayɛ nhyehyɛeɛ sɛ asotwe a ano yɛ den ba a, ɛrentumi nka yɛn, ɛfiri sɛ yɛde atorɔ ayɛ yɛn dwanekɔbea ne nnaadaa ayɛ yɛn atɛeɛ.” (Sheol )
“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties· with death, and with Sheol ·Place of the dead· are we in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’” (Sheol )
16 Enti, deɛ Otumfoɔ Awurade seɛ nie, “Hwɛ! Mede ɛboɔ bi retim Sion, ɛboɔ a wɔasɔ ahwɛ, tweatiboɔ a ɛsom bo ma fapem a ɛyɛ den; deɛ ɔde ne ho to soɔ no abasa mu rentu.
Therefore thus says the Lord Adonai, “Behold, I lay in Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] for a foundation stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.
17 Mede atɛntenenee bɛyɛ susuhoma na teneneeyɛ ayɛ ɔfasuo kyirebennyɛ susuhoma. Asukɔtweaa bɛsɛe wo dwanekɔbea, a ɛyɛ atorɔ no, na nsuo abɛkata wʼatɛeɛ hɔ.
I will make mishpat ·justice· the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.
18 Mɛtwa apam a wo ne owuo ayɛ no mu; nhyehyɛeɛ a wo ne damena ayɛ no nso rennyina. Sɛ asotwe a ano yɛ den no ba a, ɛbɛtwi afa mo so. (Sheol )
Your covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties· with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol ·Place of the dead· shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it. (Sheol )
19 Mperɛ dodoɔ biara a ɛbɛba no, ɛbɛsoa mo akɔ; anɔpa, awia ne anadwo biara, ɛbɛfa mu akɔ.” Saa nkra yi nteaseɛ de ehu bɛba.
As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”
20 Mpa no yɛ tia dodo ma sɛ wɔtene wɔn mu wɔ so. Nnasoɔ no yɛ tiaa sɛ ɛbɛ so wɔn ho kata.
For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.
21 Awurade bɛsɔre sɛdeɛ ɔsɔree wɔ Perasim bepɔ so no. Ɔbɛkanyane ne ho sɛdeɛ ɔyɛɛ wɔ Gibeon Bɔnhwa mu no yɛɛ nʼadwuma nwanwasoɔ no, na ɔdii dwumadie a ebi mmaa da no.
For Adonai will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.
22 Afei gyae wo fɛdie no, anyɛ saa a, wo nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn mu bɛyɛ duru; Awurade, Asafo Awurade aka akyerɛ me ɔsɛeɛ ho mmaraden a wɔahyɛ atia asase no nyinaa.
Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· a decree of destruction from the Lord, Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], on the whole earth.
23 Montie na monte me nne; monwɛn mo aso na montie deɛ meka.
Give ear, and sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!
24 Sɛ okuafoɔ funtum asase sɛ ɔrebɛdua so a, ɔyɛ no daa anaa? Ɔkɔ so tutu, fɛntɛm asase no anaa?
Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?
25 Sɛ ɔsiesie asase no ani a, ɔnnua ɛme, na ɔmpete tɛtɛ wɔ so anaa? Ɔnnua ayuo ne atokoɔ mu biara wɔ nʼafa anaa?
When he has leveled its surface, does not he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?
26 Ne Onyankopɔn ma no akwankyerɛ na ɔkyerɛ no ɛkwan pa no.
For his God instructs him in right judgment, and teaches him.
27 Wɔmfa asaeɛ mpɔ ɛme ho, wɔmfa teaseɛnam hankra mfa tɛtɛ so; wɔde poma na ɛboro ɛme, na wɔde abaa aboro tɛtɛ.
For the dill are not threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.
28 Wɔyam aburoo de to burodo enti obi nnkɔ so nyam a ɔnwie da. Ɛwom sɛ ɔde nʼayuporeɛ teaseɛnam hankra fa so deɛ, nanso ɛnyɛ nʼapɔnkɔ na wɔyam.
Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.
29 Yeinom nyinaa firi Asafo Awurade, afutuo mu nwanwani, na ne nyansa boro so.
This also comes out from Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.
