< Yesaia 20 >
1 Afe a Asiriahene Sargon somaa ne ɔman no sahene kɔɔ Asdod kɔto hyɛɛ no so na ɔdii ne so nkonim no,
In the yeere that Tartan came to Ashdod, (when Sargon King of Asshur sent him) and had fought against Ashdod, and taken it,
2 saa ɛberɛ no Awurade faa Yesaia, Amos babarima so kasaa sɛ, “Yi ayitoma no firi wo ho ne mpaboa no firi wo nan ase.” Ɔyɛɛ saa de adagya a ne nan nso sisi fam dii akɔneaba.
At the same time spake the Lord by ye hand of Isaiah the sonne of Amoz, saying, Goe, and loose the sackecloth from thy loynes, and put off thy shooe from thy foote. And he did so, walking naked and barefoote.
3 Na Awurade kaa sɛ, “Sɛdeɛ me ɔsomfoɔ Yesaia de adagya anante mfeɛ mmiɛnsa a ne nan nso sisi fam yi de ayɛ ɔhaw nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ a ɛtia Misraim ne Kus no,
And the Lord said, Like as my seruant Isaiah hath walked naked, and barefoote three yeeres, as a signe and wonder vpon Egypt, and Ethiopia,
4 saa ara na Asiriahene bɛdi Misraim nneduafoɔ ne Kus nnommumfoɔ a wɔdeda adagya na wɔn nan sisi fam, mmabunu ne mpanin a wɔn to deda so no anim, de agu Misraim anim ase.
So shall the King of Asshur take away the captiuitie of Egypt, and the captiuitie of Ethiopia, both yong men and olde men, naked and barefoote, with their buttockes vncouered, to the shame of Egypt.
5 Wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho too Kus so, na wɔde Misraim hoahoaa wɔn ho no bɛsuro na wɔn ani awu.
And they shall feare, and be ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
6 Saa ɛda no nnipa a wɔtete mpoano ha bɛka sɛ, ‘Monhwɛ asɛm a ato wɔn a yɛde yɛn ho too wɔn so no, wɔn a yɛdwane kɔɔ wɔn nkyɛn kɔpɛɛ mmoa sɛ wɔbɛgye yɛn afiri Asiriahene nsam no! Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yɛadwane?’”
Then shall the inhabitant of this yle say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we fledde for helpe to be deliuered from the King of Asshur, and howe shall we be deliuered?
