< Hosea 10 >

1 Israel yɛɛ bobe a ɛretrɛtrɛ; ɔsoo aba maa ne ho. Ɛberɛ a nʼaba redɔɔso no, ɔsisii afɔrebukyia bebree; nʼasase rekɔ so yɛ yie no ɔsiesie nʼabosom dum kronkron no.
A luxuriant vine, is Israel, fruit, beseemeth him, —According to the abundance of his fruit, hath he brought abundance to the altars, according to the goodliness of his land, hath he made goodly statues.
2 Nnaadaasɛm wɔ wɔn akoma mu, enti ɛsɛ sɛ wɔnya wɔn afɔdie so asotwe. Awurade bɛbubu wɔn afɔrebukyia, na wasɛe wɔn abosom dum kronkron no.
Hypocritical is their heart, Now, shall they be held guilty, —He, will break down their altars, he will destroy their statutes.
3 Afei, wɔbɛka sɛ, “Yɛnni ɔhene, ɛfiri sɛ, yɛamfa anidie amma Awurade. Mpo sɛ na yɛwɔ ɔhene kora a, ɛdeɛn na anka ɔbɛtumi ayɛ ama yɛn?”
For, now, will they say, We have no king, —for we revere not Yahweh, and what could, a king, do for us?
4 Wɔhyɛ bɔ ahodoɔ bebree, Wɔka ntam hunu na wɔyɛ apam ahodoɔ; ɛno enti mansotwe sɔresɔre te sɛ wira a borɔ wɔ mu a afifiri asase a wɔafuntum so.
They have spoken words, swearing falsely, in solemnizing a covenant, —therefore shall judgment, spring up like a poisonous plant, on the ridges of the field.
5 Nnipa a wɔte Samaria no suro ma Bet Awen nantwie ba ohoni no. Ne nkurɔfoɔ bɛsu. Saa ara na nʼabosomfoɔ nso bɛyɛ, wɔn a wɔgyee wɔn ani wɔ nʼanimuonyam ho no. Ɛfiri sɛ wɔafa no afiri wɔn nkyɛn kɔ nnommumfa mu.
About the calves of Beth-aven, will the inhabitant of Samaria be concerned, —for the people thereof, have mourned over it, and, the ascetics thereof, who, over it, used to exult, [shall mourn] for the glory thereof, because it hath departed therefrom.
6 Wɔde no bɛkɔ Asiria, de akɔhyɛ ɔhene kɛseɛ no animuonyam. Ɛbɛgu Efraim anim ase; na Israel ani bɛwu wɔ ne nnua ahoni ho.
Itself also, to Assyria, shall be borne along, as a present to a hostile king, —shame, shall Ephraim receive, that Israel, may be ashamed, of his own counsel.
7 Samaria na ne ɔhene bɛsene akɔ te sɛ dua sini a ɛtɛ nsuo ani.
Silenced is Samaria: her king, is as a chip on the face of the waters,
8 Wɔbɛsɛe abosonnan a wɔdi awurukasɛm ne bɔne wɔ mu no. Nkasɛɛ ne nnɛnkyɛnse bɛfifiri hɔ, na akata wɔn afɔrebukyia so. Afei wɔbɛka akyerɛ mmepɔ sɛ, “Mommɛkata yɛn so!” na wase nkokoɔ sɛ, “Monnwiri ngu yɛn so!”
So shall the high places of Aven, be destroyed, the sin of Israel, Thorn and prickle, shall come up on their altars, —Therefore shall they say to the mountains, Cover us, and to the hills, Fall on us.
9 “Ɛfiri Gibea berɛ so, woayɛ bɔne, Ao, Israel, na ɛhɔ na woaka. Na ɔko rentwi amfa amumuyɛfoɔ ɛwɔ Gibea no so anaa?
Beyond the days of Gibeah, hast thou sinned, O Israel: there, came they to a stand, the battle against the sons of perversity, touched them not in Gibeah.
10 Ɛberɛ a mepɛ no, mɛtwe wɔn aso; aman bɛboaboa wɔn ho ano atia wɔn. Wɔde mpokyerɛ bɛgu wɔn wɔ wɔn bɔne dodoɔ ho.
When I please, then will I chastise them, —and there shall be gathered together against them—peoples, they being harnessed to their two Iniquities;
11 Efraim yɛ nantwie ba a wɔayɛn no, a ɔpɛ ayuporeeɛ adwuma, enti mede kɔnnua bɛto ne kɔn fɛfɛ mu. Mɛkyerɛ Efraim ɛkwan, ɛsɛ sɛ Yuda funtum asase no, na Yakob nso siesie so.
But, Ephraim, shall be a heifer broken in, loving to tread out corn, when, I, have passed over upon her fair neck, —I will drive Ephraim, Judah, shall plow, Jacob, shall harrow to him.
12 Dua tenenee aba ma wo ho, twa ɔdɔ aba a ɛtena hɔ daa, siesie wʼasase a wɔmfuntum so no; na ɛberɛ aduru sɛ wohwehwɛ Awurade, kɔsi sɛ ɔbɛba abɛpete tenenee agu wo so.
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap ye at the bidding of lovingkindness, furrow to yourselves the newly-ploughed soil, —then will be the time to seek Yahweh, until he come, that he may rain down righteousness for you.
13 Nanso, woadua atirimuɔden aba, na woatwa aba bɔne. Woadi nnaadaa aba. Ɛfiri sɛ wode wo ho ato wʼahoɔden ne wʼakodɔm bebrebe no so,
Ye have plowed lawlessness, perversity, have ye reaped, ye have eaten the fruit of deception, —because thou didst trust in thy chariots, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
14 ɔko mu hooyɛ bɛsɔre atia wo nkurɔfoɔ, na wʼaban nyinaa bɛsɛe, sɛdeɛ Salman sɛee Bet Arbel ɔko da no, da a wɔde maamenom ne wɔn mma hwehwee fam no.
Therefore shall there arise a tumult among thy peoples, and, all thy fortresses, shall be plundered, as Shalman plundered Beth-arbel, in the day of battle, —the mother, upon her children, dashed to the ground.
15 Saa ara na ɛbɛba wo so Ao, Bet-El, ɛfiri sɛ wʼatirimuɔdensɛm no dɔɔso. Sɛ ɛda no duru a, Wɔbɛsɛe Israelhene no koraa.
Even so, hath Bethel, done to you, because of your exceeding wickedness, —in the dawn, shall the king of Israel be, utterly silenced.
