< Hosea 1 >

1 Ɛberɛ a Usia, Yotam, Ahas ne Hesekia yɛ ahemfo wɔ Yuda, na Yoas babarima Yeroboam di ɔhene wɔ Israel no, Awurade de saa nsɛm yi baa Beeri babarima Hosea nkyɛn.
THE WORD of the LORD that came unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 Ɛberɛ a Awurade dii ɛkan kasa faa Hosea so no, ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Kɔware odwamanfoɔ, na wo ne no nwo, ɛfiri sɛ ɔman no di adwamammɔ ho fɔ na wɔnam so atete wɔ ne Onyankopɔn ntam.”
When the LORD spoke at first with Hosea, the LORD said unto Hosea: 'Go, take unto thee a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry; for the land doth commit great harlotry, departing from the LORD.'
3 Enti, ɔwaree Diblaim babaa Gomer, na ɔnyinsɛnee, woo ɔbabarima maa no.
So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bore him a son.
4 Na Awurade ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “To ne din Yesreel, ɛfiri sɛ, merebɛtwe ɔhene Yehu fie aso, de atua awudie a ɔdii wɔ Yesreel no so ka. Na mede Israel ahennie bɛba awieeɛ.
And the LORD said unto him: 'Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5 Saa ɛda no, mɛbubu Israel tadua wɔ Yesreel bɔnhwa no mu.”
And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.'
And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And He said unto him: 'Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them.
7 Nanso, mɛyi me dɔ akyerɛ Yudafoɔ. Me Awurade wɔn Onyankopɔn, mede me tumi bɛgye wɔn afiri wɔn atamfoɔ nsam a meremfa tadua, akofena anaa ɔko anaa apɔnkɔ ne apɔnkɔsotefoɔ.”
But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'
8 Ɛberɛ a Gomer twaa Lo-ruhama nufoɔ akyi no, ɔwoo ɔba barima foforɔ.
Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son.
9 Na Awurade kaa sɛ, “To ne din Lo-ami, ɛfiri sɛ monnyɛ me nkurɔfoɔ na mennyɛ mo Onyankopɔn.
And He said: 'Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not My people, and I will not be yours.'
10 “Nanso, Israelfoɔ bɛyɛ sɛ mpoano anwea a wɔntumi nkane wɔn. Beaeɛ a wɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, ‘Monnyɛ me nkurɔfoɔ’ no, wɔbɛka sɛ, ‘Moyɛ Onyankopɔn teasefoɔ mma.’
Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, instead of that which was said unto them: 'Ye are not My people', it shall be said unto them: 'Ye are the children of the living God.'
11 Na Yudafoɔ ne Israelfoɔ bɛka abɔ mu bio, na wɔbɛyi ɔkwankyerɛfoɔ baako ama wɔn, na wɔn nyinaa bɛsane afiri nnommum no mu aba. Saa ɛda no bɛyɛ da kɛseɛ ama Yesreel.”
And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
