1 Na saa Melkisedek yi yɛ Salemhene, ɛnna ɔsane yɛ Ɔsorosoro Onyankopɔn ɔsɔfoɔ. Ɛberɛ a Abraham firi ɔko a ɔkumm ahemfo ano reba no, Melkisedek hyiaa no hyiraa no.
For, this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him, —
2 Abraham maa no nʼasadeɛ no mu nkyɛmu edu mu baako. Melkisedek din no nkyerɛaseɛ a ɛdi ɛkan no ne Tenenee Ɔhene. Esiane sɛ na ɔyɛ Salemhene no enti, wɔkyerɛɛ ne din no ase sɛ Asomdwoeɛhene.
To whom even a tenth of all Abraham apportioned, first, indeed, when translated, King of Righteousness, but, after that, King of Salem also, which is King of Peace, —
3 Obi nnim Melkisedek agya, ne maame, ne ne mpanimfoɔ ho asɛm. Saa ara nso na obi nnim nʼawoɔ ne ne owuo nso ho asɛm. Ɔsɛ Onyankopɔn Ba, na ɔda so yɛ ɔsɔfoɔ daadaa.
Without father, without mother, without pedigree, having, neither beginning of days, nor of life an end, but made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest evermore.
4 Yei di ho adanseɛ sɛ na ɔyɛ onipa kɛseɛ a Agya Abraham mpo tumi ma no nʼasadeɛ mu nkyɛmu edu mu baako.
Now consider, how great, this man was, to whom, a tenth, Abraham gave out of the choicest spoils, [Yea Abraham] the Patriarch.
5 Nanso, Lewi asefoɔ a wɔyɛ asɔfoɔ no Mmara na ɛhyɛ wɔn sɛ wɔnnye nkyɛmu edu mu baako mfiri wɔn ara wɔn nkurɔfoɔ Israelfoɔ nkyɛn a wɔn nso yɛ Abraham asefoɔ no.
And, they, indeed, from among the sons of Levi who the priesthood receive, have commandment to take tithes of the people, according to the law, that is, of their brethren, although sprung from the loins of Abraham;
6 Melkisedek nyɛ Lewi aseni, nanso ɔgyee nkyɛmu edu mu baako firii Abraham nkyɛn hyiraa no maa ɔnyaa Onyankopɔn bɔhyɛ no.
But, he who deriveth not his pedigree from among them, hath taken tithes of Abraham. And, the holder of the promises, hath he blessed.
7 Akyinnyeɛ biara nni ho sɛ deɛ ɔma nhyira so sene deɛ ɔgye nhyira.
But, apart from all gainsaying, the less, by the greater, is blessed.
8 Wɔde nnipa akatua nkyɛmu edu mu baako ma asɔfoɔ, nanso asɔfoɔ yi nyinaa wu, gye Melkisedek a Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ ɔte ase.
And, here, indeed, dying men take tithes, but, there, one of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
9 Enti, nokorɛm, Abraham tuaa nkyɛmu edu no, Lewi a nʼasefoɔ gye nkyɛmu edu no nso nam Abraham so tuaa bi maa Melkisedek.
And—so to say a word—through Abraham, even Levi who taketh tithes hath paid tithes;
10 Na wɔnwoo Lewi, nanso ɛsiane sɛ na ɔhyɛ ne nana Abraham mu saa ɛberɛ no a Melkisedek hyiaa no no enti na ɔtuaeɛ.
For, even then, was he, in the loins of his father, when, Melchizedek, met him.
11 Ɛnam Lewi asɔfodie so enti na wɔde Mmara no maa Israelfoɔ. Ɛno enti sɛ Lewifoɔ asɔfodie no tumi de pɛyɛ brɛ nnipa a, anka ɛho nhia sɛ wɔbɛfa ɔsɔfoɔ foforɔ bi sɛ Melkisedek a ɔmfiri Aaron abusua mu.
If indeed, therefore, there had been, a perfecting through means of the Levitical priesthood, —for, the people, thereon, have had based a code of laws, what further need, according to the rank of Melchizedek, for a different priest to be raised up, and, not according to the rank of Aaron, to be designated?
12 Sɛ ɛba sɛ asɔfodie no sesa a, ɛma ɛho mmara no nso sesa.
For, seeing there is to be a change of the priesthood, of necessity, of law too, a change cometh.
13 Nanso, yɛn Awurade a wɔka saa asɛm yi nyinaa fa ne ho no firi abusua foforɔ mu. Ne busuani biara nnii ɔsɔfoɔ wɔ afɔrebukyia ho da.
For, he as to whom these things are said, with a different tribe, hath taken partnership, from which, no one, hath given attendance at the altar;
14 Ɛyɛ sɛnnahɔ sɛ wɔwoo no too Yuda abusua mu, na Mose kaa asɔfoɔ ho asɛm no nso, wammɔ nʼabusua din da.
For it is, very evident, that out of Judah hath sprung our Lord, —respecting which tribe, concerning priests, nothing did Moses speak,
15 Asɛm no da ne ho adi pefee, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔsɔfoɔ foforɔ bi aba a ɔte sɛ Melkisedek.
And, yet more abundantly evident it is—that, according to the likeness of Melchizedek, there is to be raised up, a different priest.
16 Ɔno deɛ, ɛnnam onipa mmara so na wɔhyɛɛ no ɔsɔfoɔ, na mmom wɔnam nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ tumi so na ɛyɛɛ no ɔsɔfoɔ.
Who, not according to a law of commandment dealing with the flesh, hath arisen, but according to the power of an indissoluble life;
17 Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛ, “Wobɛyɛ ɔsɔfoɔ akɔsi daa sɛdeɛ Melkisedek asɔfokwan nhyehyɛeɛ te no.” (aiōn g165)
For it is witnessed—Thou, art a priest, age-abidingly, according to the rank of Melchizedek. (aiōn g165)
18 Wɔato mmara dada no atwene, ɛfiri sɛ, sintɔ bi wɔ mmara no mu, na ɛho nni mfasoɔ nso.
For, a setting aside, doth, indeed, take place, of a foregoing commandment, by reason of its own weakness and unprofitableness, —
19 Ɛno enti, Mose Mmara no antumi amma biribiara anyɛ pɛ. Nanso wɔde anidasoɔ pa bi a yɛnam so bɛn Onyankopɔn aba.
For, the law, perfected, nothing; but there is the superinducing of a better hope, —through which we draw near unto God.
20 Ɛno akyi, Onyankopɔn ntam abɛka ho. Ɛberɛ a ɔhyɛɛ Aaron asefoɔ asɔfoɔ no na ntam a ɛte saa nni hɔ.
And, inasmuch as not apart from oath-taking—
21 Yesu deɛ, ɔnam ntam so bɛyɛɛ ɔsɔfoɔ ɛberɛ a Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Awurade aka ntam; na ɔrensesa nʼadwene: ‘Wobɛyɛ ɔsɔfoɔ daa nyinaa.’” (aiōn g165)
For, they, indeed, apart from oath-taking, have been made priests, but, he, with an oath-taking, through him that was saying unto him—The Lord sware, and will not regret, —Thou, art a priest, age-abidingly (aiōn g165)
22 Saa ntam yi enti, Yesu gyina mu ma yɛn, na ɛma yɛne Onyankopɔn apam no di mu.
By as much as this, hath, Jesus, become surety of a better covenant also.
23 Nsonsonoeɛ foforɔ bi nso wɔ hɔ. Na saa asɔfoɔ no dɔɔso, ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔwuwu a wɔntumi ntoa wɔn adwuma so.
And, they, indeed, in greater numbers, have been made priests, because, by reason of death, are they hindered from remaining at hand;
But, he, by reason of his remaining age-abidingly, untransmissible, holdeth, the priesthood. (aiōn g165)
25 Enti, ɔtumi gye wɔn a wɔnam ne so ba Onyankopɔn nkyɛn no ɛnnɛ ne daa, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔte hɔ daa srɛ Onyankopɔn ma wɔn.
Whence he is able, even to be saving unto the very end, them who approach, through him, unto God; Since he evermore liveth to be interceding in their behalf.
26 Yesu ne Ɔsɔfopanin a ɔboa yɛn wɔ yɛn ahiasɛm mu. Ɔyɛ kronkron. Ɔnni mfomsoɔ biara wɔ ne mu, na ɔnyɛ bɔne. Wɔate no afiri nnebɔneyɛfoɔ ho na wɔapagya no aboro ɔsoro so.
For, such a high-priest as this, for us, was [even] suited: Loving, noble, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and become, higher than the heavens;
27 Ɔnte sɛ asɔfoɔ mpanin a aka no a, daa afɔrebɔ a ɔbɔ no kane no ɔbɔ wɔ ne bɔne a wayɛ ho ansa na afei, wabɔ afoforɔ deɛ no. Ɔbɔɔ afɔdeɛ baako pɛ a ɔde ne ho na ɛbɔeɛ.
Who hath no daily necessity, like the high-priests, beforehand, over his own sins, to be offering sacrifices, after that, over those, of the people, —for, this, he did once for all when, himself, he offered up.
28 Mose Mmara no yi nnipa a wɔmfata ma wɔyɛ asɔfoɔ mpanin, nanso Onyankopɔn bɔ a ɔde ntam kaa ho no a ɛtaa Mmara no akyi no, yii Ɔba no a ɔyɛ pɛ daa nyinaa no. (aiōn g165)
For, the law, constituteth, men, high-priests, having, weakness; but, the word of the oath-taking, which cometh after the law, A Son, age-abidingly, made perfect. (aiōn g165)
