< Hebrifoɔ 5 >
1 Wɔyi Ɔsɔfopanin biara firi nnipa bi mu na wasi wɔn ananmu de wɔn akyɛdeɛ ne wɔn bɔne ho afɔdeɛ asom Onyankopɔn.
For every high-priest taken from among men, is appointed for the sake of men in things relating to God, that he may offer gifts and sacrifices for sins:
2 Esiane sɛ nʼankasa yɛ mmerɛ akwan ahodoɔ pii so no enti, ɔtumi to ne bo ase ma wɔn a wɔnnim na wɔyɛ mfomsoɔ no.
who can have due compassion on the ignorant and those that are going astray; seeing he himself also is surrounded with infirmity:
3 Ne mmerɛyɛ enti, sɛ ɔrebɔ bɔne ho afɔdeɛ a, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔbɔ ma ne ho ne afoforɔ nso.
and for this reason he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifice for sins.
4 Obiara ntumi nyi ne ho mfa nhyɛ ne ho animuonyam sɛ ɔyɛ Ɔsɔfopanin. Onyankopɔn frɛ nko na onipa nam so bɛyɛ Ɔsɔfopanin sɛdeɛ wɔfrɛɛ Aaron no.
And no one taketh this honor to himself, but he that is called by God, as Aaron was.
5 Saa ara nso na Kristo annye anto ne ho so sɛ ɔyɛ Ɔsɔfopanin amfa anhyɛ ne ho animuonyam. Na mmom, Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Woyɛ me Ba: ɛnnɛ, mayɛ wʼAgya.”
So also Christ did not glorify himself to be made an high-priest; but He that said unto Him, "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
6 Ɔsane kaa wɔ baabi foforɔ sɛ, “Wobɛyɛ ɔsɔfoɔ akɔsi daa sɛdeɛ Melkisedek asɔfokwan nhyehyɛeɛ te no.” (aiōn )
As He saith also in another place, "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec." (aiōn )
7 Yesu baa ɔhonam mu wɔ asase so no, ɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ nam nkotosrɛ so de nʼabisadeɛ too Onyankopɔn a ɔbɛtumi agye no afiri owuo mu no anim. Esiane sɛ ɔdwo na ɔde ne ho nyinaa som no no enti, Onyankopɔn tiee no.
Who in the days of his flesh, offered prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears, to Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in what He feared;
8 Ɛwom sɛ na ɔyɛ Onyankopɔn Ba deɛ, nanso ɔnam nʼamanehunu so suaa ahobrɛaseɛ.
but though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered: and being thus perfected,
9 Na ɔwiee pɛyɛ no, wɔn a wɔtie no no nam ne so nya nkwagyeɛ a ɛnni awieeɛ, (aiōnios )
He became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey Him: (aiōnios )
10 na Onyankopɔn ada no adi sɛ ɔyɛ Ɔsɔfopanin sɛdeɛ Melkisedek asɔfokwan nhyehyɛeɛ te no.
having been declared by God an high-priest after the order of Melchisedec.
11 Yɛwɔ yei ho nsɛm pii ka, nanso emu kyerɛkyerɛ yɛ den, ɛfiri sɛ, mo nteaseɛ yɛ den.
Concerning whom we have much to say and difficult to be explained, since ye are become dull of hearing.
12 Moayɛ nkyerɛkyerɛ adwuma no akyɛre, nanso ɛsɛ sɛ monya obi ma ɔkyerɛkyerɛ mo Onyankopɔn ho asɛm firi ne ahyɛaseɛ. Anka ɛsɛ sɛ saa ɛberɛ yi modi aduane a ɛyɛ den, nanso nufosuo na ɛyɛ ma mo.
For whereas ye ought for the time to be teachers of others, ye have need again of some one to teach you the first rudiments of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk and not of solid food.
13 Obiara a nufosuo yɛ ma no da so yɛ abadomaa a ɔnnim deɛ ɛyɛ ne deɛ ɛnyɛ.
For every one that wanteth milk, is unacquainted with the doctrine of justification; for he is an infant:
14 Aduane a ɛyɛ den yɛ ma mpanimfoɔ a wɔatete wɔn na wɔahunu nsonsonoeɛ a ɛda papa ne bɔne ntam.
but firm food is for persons come to age, who by habit have their senses exercised to a discernment both of good and evil.
