< Hebrifoɔ 4 >

1 Afei, ɛsiane sɛ bɔhyɛ a ɛfa ne mu home da so wɔ hɔ enti, momma yɛnhwɛ yie na mo mu bi antɔ sini wɔ mu.
Let us then fear, since a promise is still left us of entering into his rest, lest any one of you should appear to fail of obtaining it.
2 Ɛfiri sɛ wɔaka Asɛmpa no akyerɛ yɛn sɛdeɛ wɔka kyerɛ wɔn no. Nanso, wɔammu asɛm a wɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn no, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn a wɔtiee no no annye anni.
For to us were glad tidings addressed, as well as to them; but the word which was heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
3 Na yɛn a yɛagye adi no nko ara na yɛkɔ saa home no mu sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn aka sɛ, “Enti mefiri mʼabufuo mu ka ntam sɛ, ‘Wɔrenhyɛne asase a anka mede wɔn rekɔ mu no da.’” Ɔkaa saa asɛm yi deɛ, nanso ɛfiri ɛberɛ a ɔbɔɔ ewiase no, na wawie ɔhome dwumadie no dada.
For we who believed enter into the rest, as he hath said: “So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 Na Atwerɛsɛm no mu baabi wɔka biribi fa da a ɛtɔ so nson no ho sɛ, “Ɛda a ɛtɔ so nson no, Onyankopɔn home firii ne nnwuma nyinaa mu.”
For he hath spoken in a certain place of the seventh day thus: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;”
5 Wɔkaa saa asɛm korɔ yi ara bio sɛ, “Wɔrenhyɛne asase a anka mede wɔn rekɔ mu no da.”
and in this place again: “They shall not enter into my rest.”
6 Wɔn a wɔdii ɛkan tee Asɛmpa no annya saa ahome no, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔannye anni. Afoforɔ bi nso wɔ hɔ a wama wɔn ɛkwan sɛ wɔnnya ahome no.
Since then it still remaineth for some to enter into it, and they to whom the glad tidings of it were first brought did not enter in because of disobedience,
7 Enti Onyankopɔn aka sɛ wayi ɛda bi ato hɔ a wɔfrɛ no “Ɛnnɛ.” Mfeɛ bebree akyi no, ɔnam Dawid so kaa wɔ Atwerɛsɛm no mu sɛ, “Ɛnnɛ, sɛ mote Onyankopɔn nne a mommpirim mo akoma.”
he again appointeth a certain day, “To-day”—saying in David so long a time after, as hath before been said—”To-day, if ye hear his voice, harden not your hearts.”
8 Sɛ Yosua dii nnipa no anim de wɔn kɔɔ Onyankopɔn home mu a, anka akyire no Onyankopɔn anka da foforɔ ho asɛm.
For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not after this be speaking of another day.
9 Sɛdeɛ ɛte yi, ɔhome da so wɔ hɔ ma Onyankopɔn nkurɔfoɔ sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn homee da a ɛtɔ so nson no.
There remaineth therefore a sabbath-rest to the people of God.
10 Obiara a ɔbɛhome wɔ Onyankopɔn mu no bɛhome afiri nʼankasa ne nnwuma mu, sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn home firii ne nnwuma mu no.
For he that hath entered into his rest, hath himself rested from his works, as God did from his own.
11 Enti, momma yɛmmɔ yɛn ho mmɔden na yɛatumi akɔ Onyankopɔn home mu. Ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛn mu bi yɛ asoɔden sɛdeɛ wɔyɛɛ asoɔden a enti wɔankɔ mu no.
Let us then strive to enter into that rest, that no one may fall, as a like example of disobedience.
12 Onyankopɔn asɛm yɛ nkwa, na tumi wɔ mu. Ɛyɛ nnam sene sekan anofanu. Ɛhwire mu kɔsi sɛ ɛpaapae honhom ne ɔkra, apɔ ne ɛhon mu. Ɛda yɛn akoma mu ne yɛn adwene mu nsusuiɛ nyinaa adi.
For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, both the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart;
13 Biribiara nni hɔ a wɔde sie Onyankopɔn ma ɛyɛ yie. Abɔdeɛ mu biribiara da nʼanim na ɔno na ɛsɛ sɛ yɛbu yɛn ho akonta kyerɛ no.
and there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight; but all things are naked and laid open to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Ɛno enti, momma yɛnsɔ gyidie a yɛka ho asɛm no mu den. Ɛfiri sɛ yɛwɔ Ɔsɔfopanin kɛseɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn anim.
Since, then, we have a great high-priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 Yɛnni sɔfopanin bi a ɔntumi nhwɛ yɛn mmerɛyɛ ho nhunu yɛn mmɔbɔ. Yɛwɔ obi a wɔasɔ no ahwɛ akwan ahodoɔ nyinaa so sɛ yɛn ara, nanso wanyɛ bɔne.
For we have not a high-priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who hath in all points been tempted as we are, without sin.
16 Momma yɛnsi yɛn bo na yɛmmra Onyankopɔn ahennwa a adom wɔ mu no anim, na ɛno na ɛbɛma yɛanya ahummɔborɔ ne adom a ɛbɛboa yɛn ɛberɛ a ɛsɛ mu.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
