< Hebrifoɔ 12 >
1 Yɛn deɛ, yɛwɔ adansefoɔ bebree a wɔatwa yɛn ho ahyia. Momma yɛntwe yɛn ho mfiri akwansideɛ nyinaa ne bɔne a akyekyere yɛn dendeenden no nyinaa ho na yɛnyere yɛn ho wɔ mmirikakansie a ɛda yɛn anim no.
Seeing then that we are encircled with this great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and the sin that clings about us. Let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Momma yɛmfa yɛn ani nto Yesu a yɛn gyidie ahyɛaseɛ ne nʼawieeɛ gyina ne so no so. Asɛnnua no enti, wampa aba. Esiane anigyeɛ a na ɛretwɛn no no enti, animguasewuo a ɔwuu wɔ asɛnnua so no anha no. Enti, seesei ɔte Onyankopɔn ahennwa no nifa so.
looking unto Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured a cross, despising shame, and has now taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Dwene ɔhaw a ɔfaa mu no ho sɛ nnipa nnebɔneyɛfoɔ tan a wɔtanee no nso, ɔtumi gyinaa ano no. Ɛno enti mommpa aba.
Compare yourselves with him who endured such hostility against himself at the hands of sinners, lest you grow weary, fainting in your souls.
4 Na mo ne bɔne ko mu no, monnko nkɔduruu sɛ mobɛhwie mogya agu.
Not yet have you resisted unto blood in your fight against sin;
5 Mo werɛ afiri nkuranhyɛsɛm a Onyankopɔn ka kyerɛɛ mo sɛ ne mma no sɛ, “Me ba, sɛ Awurade tene wo so a, tie no yie, na sɛ ɔka wʼanim a, mpa aba.
and have you forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as sons? My son, do not despise the training of the Lord, Nor faint when he corrects you;
6 Ɛfiri sɛ, obiara a Awurade pɛ nʼasɛm no, ɔtwe nʼaso, sɛdeɛ agya tene ɔba a ɔdɔ no so no.”
For it is those whom he loves that he disciplines, And he scourges every son whom he acknowledges.
7 Amanehunu biara a ɛbɛto mo no, monnhinhim na momfa no sɛ Agya no ntenesoɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, mo amanehunu no kyerɛ ntenesoɔ a Onyankopɔn retene mo so sɛ ne mma. Ɔba bi wɔ hɔ a nʼagya ntene ne so da?
It is for discipline that you are enduring these sufferings. God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
8 Sɛ wantene mo so sɛ ne mma no bi a, na ɛkyerɛ sɛ monnyɛ ne mma kann.
If you are left without discipline, in which all children share, then are you bastards and not sons.
9 Sɛ yɛn agyanom a wɔwɔ asase so twee yɛn aso maa yɛbuu wɔn a, mpɛn ahe na ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛbrɛ yɛn ho ase ma honhom mu Agya no na yɛtumi tena ase?
Furthermore, our earthly fathers used to discipline us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
10 Yɛn agyanom a wɔwɔ asase so ha twee yɛn aso sɛdeɛ wɔpɛ ɛberɛ tiawa bi. Nanso, yɛn yiedie enti, Onyankopɔn yɛɛ saa sɛdeɛ yɛn ho bɛte.
For they only disciplined us for a few days, as seemed good to them; but he does it for our profit, that we may share his holiness.
11 Sɛ wɔtwe yɛn aso a, ɛma yɛn werɛ ho saa ɛberɛ no mu, na yɛn ani nnye. Na akyire no, wɔn a wɔfa saa asotwe no mu na wɔnya wɔn ho nteaseɛ no, wɔnya asomdwoeɛ na wɔtena ase tenenee mu.
Now no discipline seems for the present to be joyous, but grievous; but afterward it yields the peaceable fruits of righteousness to those who have been trained under it.
12 Montenetene nsa ne nkotodwe a emu agogo no mu.
Wherefore lift up your listless hands, strengthen your feeble knees;
13 Monsiesie akwan na momfa so, na mpakye anyɛ mmubuafoɔ, na mmom, wɔasa wɔn yadeɛ.
make straight path for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.
14 Mo ne nnipa nyinaa ntena ase asomdwoeɛ mu, na mommɔ mmɔden ntena ase tenenee mu. Anyɛ saa a, morenhunu Awurade.
Run swiftly after peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
15 Monhwɛ yie na mo mu bi annane nʼakyi ankyerɛ Onyankopɔn adom no. Monhwɛ yie na mo mu bi anyɛ sɛ afifideɛ a ɛyɛ nwono a ɛnyini ma ne bɔnwoma no ha afoforɔ.
Look carefully that there be no one who falls back from the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up to trouble you, and by its means many become defiled.
16 Monhwɛ yie na mo mu bi anyɛ odwamanfoɔ ne obi a ɔmfɛre Onyankopɔn sɛ Esau a ɔbuu nʼani guu nʼagyapadeɛ so tɔnee nʼabakan de gyee aduane no.
Take care lest there be any fornicator or scorner like Esau among you, who for one meal sold his birthright.
17 Na afei ɛduruu ɛberɛ bi a ɔpɛɛ sɛ ne nsa ka nʼagya hɔ nhyira no, ɔde kamee no no. Ɛwom sɛ ɔde nisuo peree sɛ wanya adwensakyera deɛ, nanso anyɛ yie.
For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected; he found no room for repentance, though he sought it earnestly, with tears.
18 Monhyiaa nneɛma a ɛyɛ hu, ogyaframa, awerɛhoɔ, esum ne ahum sɛdeɛ Israelfoɔ no hyiaa Sinai Bepɔ no so ɛberɛ a Onyankopɔn de ne mmara no maeɛ no.
For you are not come to a palpable and enkindled fire,
19 Ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔrebɔ totorobɛnto dendeenden a ɛnne bi a ɛreka kasa a ɛyɛ hu nenam mu, enti nnipa no srɛɛ Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔnnyae kasa,
nor to gloom and darkness and tempest and the blare of a trumpet and an audible voice. Those who heard that voice entreated that no word more should be spoken to them.
20 ɛfiri sɛ, na wɔntumi nni mmara a na ɛka sɛ, “Sɛ mpo aboa koraa de ne ho ka bepɔ no a, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔsi no aboɔ kum no” no so.
For they could not endure that which was enjoined, Even if a wild beast touches the mountain it shall be stoned to death;
21 Na beaeɛ hɔ yɛ hu ara kɔsii sɛ Mose kaa sɛ. “Mesuro, na me ho popo.”
and so terrible was the scene that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and tremble.
22 Na mo deɛ moaba Sion Bepɔ so ne Onyankopɔn a ɔte ase no kuro, ɔsorosoro Yerusalem a ɔsoro abɔfoɔ mpempem wɔ mu no mu.
On the contrary you are come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to innumerable hosts of angels,
23 Moaba Onyankopɔn asafo mma dada a wɔn ani gye wɔn ho a wɔatwerɛ wɔn din wɔ ɔsoro no mu. Moaba Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ nnipa nyinaa ɔtemmufoɔ ne ateneneefoɔ a wɔayɛ wɔn pɛ no mu.
to the festal assemblage and church of the firstborn, registered in heaven, to a Judge who is God of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
24 Moaba Yesu a ɔhyehyɛɛ apam foforɔ ne mogya a wɔapete a ɛka nneɛma pa ho asɛm sene Habel mogya no ho.
to Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant, and to his sprinkled Blood whose message cries louder than that of Abel.
25 Monhwɛ mo ho so yie na moammu mo ani angu asɛm a ɔka so. Wɔn a wɔantie deɛ ɔkasa firii asase so no amfa wɔn ho anni. Na ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yɛatumi adwane afiri deɛ ɔkasa firi ɔsoro no ho?
See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape punishment when they refused to listen to their instructor on earth, much less shall we escape if we turn away from him who is teaching us from heaven;
26 Ne nne wosoo asase saa ɛberɛ no, nanso seesei wahyɛ bɔ sɛ, “Ɛnyɛ asase nko na mɛsane awoso no, na mɛwoso soro nso bio saa ara.”
whose voice then shook the earth, but now he has promised, saying, Once again, once for all, I make not only earth, but heaven also to tremble.
27 Nsɛm “Nso bio saa ara” no da no adi pefee sɛ ɔbɛwoso nneɛma a wɔbɔeɛ no na atutu afiri wɔn ananmu na nneɛma a wɔntumi nwoso no aka.
That phrase, "Once again," signifies the removal of the things which can be shaken, created things, in order that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Momma yɛnna so ase, ɛfiri sɛ, yɛanya ahennie a wɔwoso no a ɛnyɛ yie. Momma yɛn ani nsɔ na yɛmfa ɛkwan a ɛbɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani a ɛyɛ anidie ne suro so nsom no,
Wherefore since we are receiving a kingdom which is unshakable, let us give thanks, and so offer acceptable worship to God, with holy awe and fear,
29 ɛfiri sɛ, nokorɛ ni, yɛn Onyankopɔn yɛ ogya a ɛhye na ɛsɛe adeɛ.
FOR INDEED OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE.
